A lot of good points Wayne. Given Dan Neil struggled again in that defensive midfield role surely now is the time to give Luke O’Nien a run there? I’ve just watched a video of Nazirly Rusyn scoring numerous goals for Zorya Luhansk from the left; this just seems to confirm wide left is his best position which was what was reported when we signed him. Again, given Romaine Mundles’ absence surely now is the time to utilise him properly. My fear is Mr Speakman is still pulling the strings and people play when and where he has agreed. For the first time this season I’m beginning to feel the negativity which personified almost all of last season.
Agree mate with every word Sunderland need to get back to winning ways very soon because doesn't matter what anyone says we could easy find ourselves out of top six and what looked like a season sunderland could easily be in that top two might become struggle to be in playoffs, still think Sunderland have major chance of getting in top two but for me Sunderland have been found out and that's a worrying part ,must win at sheff utd.
Cheers Gary, I agree we need to stop this run of draws but with a win and not a defeat which I fear may happen on Friday. Lets hope we can do the business on Friday.
Thought we did press and crowd got behind the team, they were well drilled hard to break down, agree set pieces were shocking Roberts final ball is terrible
Hi Wayne, totally agree with you 100% , starting to worry a little about the season and this current drawing games thing , think we tried hard tonight but with no real purpose or cutting edge, Robert’s was awful and his corner taking was embarrassing. Let’s hope we can pull it around on Friday night, would be typical Sunderland to go away to unbeaten Sheffield Utd and win 😂 but have to play a lot better and quicker than we did tonight.👍
I've been saying for a while RLB bubble has burst too many risky decisions but how much is down to Dodds surely RLB would be more assertive now. TW last season scared kitty now young lion hopefully lion King soon
I hope hope I'm wrong and RLB has control but it just seems these performances are getting worse and worse and have more and more of a Dodds like influence.
Unless we beat Sheffield United which is a huge ask and very unlikely unfortunately then top 2 is definitely gone, the wheels have definitely come off, in terms of effort we got it for near enough a full 90 which is better than recent games but unfortunately we were pretty toothless and clueless, to me it looks like we've run out of ideas, aside from the disallowed goal and the Roberts and Rigg chances we didn't do enough in the final third which is very frustrating and disappointing, again I think Le Bris has to be questioned for team selection and subs, firstly why was Connolly on the bench if he wasn't gonna bring him on, if he's not fit then why's he on the bench, also why was Mayenda dropped when he had a really good game against Millwall and Watson starts, I don't want to go in hard on the lad but for me Watson isn't ready yet, apart from winning a few free kicks and winning that 1 corner after that run from the short corner what did the lad actually do other than constantly shoot straight at a West Brom player, aside from Hume, Mepham and Ballard who were all excellent BTW, everybody else just seemed off it, Roberts was poor, even Jobe who's been brilliant this season was below par, yes u can take the positives of 10 games unbeaten, clean sheet and still unbeaten at home but honestly right now I would rather no clean clean sheets between now and January if we started to win games on a regular basis cos right now we don't look like winning games of football, we're either not at it or we play well for 1 half and then fall to pieces, yeah we didn't fall to pieces last night but we didn't really get going either, very frustrated and disappointed, this would've been a good point had we won the Preston, Coventry and Millwall games but unfortunately all we're doing now is putting more pressure on ourselves for the harder games
Exactly mate, i'm with you. I really hope that he's not been influenced to pick players like. Tony Mowbray's comments about being forced to pick certain players has struck a cord in me and last night was the 1st time I'm starting to think Speakman poking his nose in again. If L09 is playing on Friday it will convince me even more.
@onlyfoolsandsafc if Ballard gets dropped on Friday, a proper CB who's looked really good alongside Mepham to put Onien back there then you'll start to think who's actually calling the shots, Onien has played well this season but when Ballard's available he and Mepham should be first choice, the only way Onien gets in for me is if we've got a full back crisis or maybe to go into midfield
Disappointing nite Wayne !! But they wanted the draw !!! Apart from strange positional changes , Paddy was lethargic & off the pace , he just seemed anonymous & Tommy's still learning !!! Am not sure if reggie knows his best formation !!! Worried for Friday but it's a strange situation & owt can appen !!! Keep the belief & FTM
Great review Wayne I thought the offside goal should have stood and then its a win but credit to WBA they came for a point and got it. I think Watson will only get better with game time so understand his inclusion. I thought Alese had a good game on Saturday but probably should have been subbed with it being his first game back. Agree Roberts shouldn't take corners possibly Rigg should. It was a better performance than the previous 4 draws. I think we'll have a good chance tomorrow night as Shef U won't park the Bus. Have a great weekend mate All the best Tim
I agree Wayne its your opinion m8 don't be afraid to upset the people on here you said exactly what I'm thinking rlb needs to sort out the lack of creativity and play people in right positions for a start I said we finish 10th at the start so I'm not surprised we dropping off
Was at the game last night and had the usual great view of the whole pitch from the Premier Concourse! Good to not get beat and at least pick up a point but I completely agree with WBA came for a point and got it with a well organised and drilled team. Was a frustrating game! For me we had no urgency and our set pieces were absolutely shocking! Roberts set pieces are Abysmal he's currently offering nothing he's like he was last season! No chance for top 2 this season! Hopefully we can make the Play Offs!
Hi William, I am hoping for the same now. We are badly missing Mundle which seems to have gone back to the days of being a one man team again when we had Clarke.
What ennoys me both wingers always come inside, I wish we had wingers that go to the byline. Roberts always flatters and Watson is too light weight, we defo miss Mundle. We played ok in my mind thou but struggled to create clear cut chances. I would like to see a 4-4-2 line up !
Like you, disappointed with what I watched though there were some decent moments. Watson should have stayed on and Roberts hooked. I like Roberts but, oh dear, his set pieces. Some of his corner balls came down with snow on them. What was that all about Pat? Hope to see round pegs in round holes come Friday as this will be possibly the hardest test so far this season for us. Can we win it? Of course we can - if RLB picks the right team for the job.
The last three games have sucked the enthusiasm out of me. I agree, it stinks of Dodds ball and it pee's me off that he's gobbing off on the side-lines. Where's the gusto that we had at the beginning of the season? Luckily, we're still in a good position and I'm sure RLB will get on top of it. Keep the faith. HWTL.
Doesn't matter which way you look at it, that was a complete bore fest and West Brom got exactly what they set out and up for, our problem was we couldn't find a way to break them down. Watson and Roberts were totally bereft of ideas and positive input so consequently Isidor went without any service to speak of and our midfield, for all their hard graft, couldn't find a way to unlock the massed defence of the opposition. I can't see Sheffield Utd employing the Buggies tactics so maybe we'll see if the lads do or whether they try to get at the Blades and give us something to enjoy for a change.
Exactly John, poor Isidor never got a kick due to the lack of service. I think the Sheffield game will be a lot more open. We will have space but it's what we do with it.
@onlyfoolsandsafc Personally I expect the Blades game to be the complete opposite to last night Wayne, I'd keep Mepham and Ballard together with Hume and Alese as the full backs, move 09 into holding midfield with Rigg,Jobe and Neil and play Mayenda up alongside Isidor.
Spot on Wayne o nien s a midfielder Connolly should have started alongside isador Regis should have asked Dodds if we could go two up top especially at home I said weeks ago Dodds running the show last night Dodds was shouting in Regis lug big time like he was in charge I was sitting behind the dugout it was obvious ⚪️🔴🌑
Well then Wayne here we go again wba and absolute disgrace, I've said many a times and been knocked for this player being accommodated in this team, I'm just about fed up to the teeth if people backing this player as if he can't be dropped, we simply could have run with three at the back because of that side we played against why drop Connolly for a inexperienced young player in Watson..the whole team is now looking disjointed we are in danger of dropping away, we wint get anything at sheffield if we do ill be flabbergasted Wayne we are not good enough simple as that.
A lot of good points Wayne. Given Dan Neil struggled again in that defensive midfield role surely now is the time to give Luke O’Nien a run there? We were never gonna get top 2 but apart from connolly i think regis did a good job
Thought we did press and crowd got behind the team, they were well drilled hard to break down, agree set pieces were shocking Roberts final ball is terrible
I think we did in spells Gordon but the intensity wasn't there for me.
Hi Wayne, totally agree with you 100% , starting to worry a little about the season and this current drawing games thing , think we tried hard tonight but with no real purpose or cutting edge, Robert’s was awful and his corner taking was embarrassing. Great review Wayne

Cheers David, I think 10th would probably where we expected at the start of the season.
Always easy to say what should have been done with the benefit of hindsight after the matter.
Yes Hindsight is a wonderful thing.
Was at the game last night and had the usual great view of the whole pitch from the Premier Concourse!

Exactly Chris, we have to pick the best team we have available and play players in their positions. 100% we can win if we apply ourselves properly.
HWTL.
This is my point exactly David, we have gone backward so quickly its scary.
Doesn't matter which way you look at it, that was a complete bore fest and West Brom got exactly what they set out and up for, our problem was we couldn't find a way to break them down. MOM Mepham again
@@stewartmack4821 I'd say ballard but both of them were class
Agree mate.

I am beginning to think more and more that he is having a greater input week on week.
We are lacking squad depth John, we have lost Mundle and we look average at best.
Onien. Should be put into midfield to add a bit of bite that’s what we need
We both know that will not happen John, We were awful last night.
