    In spite of these scandals, we need to remember that there are many good and holy priests and bishops. I read a response from my own Bishop (Archbishop of Seattle), which was very strong against these sins, but thoughtful and balanced, and a call to all for greater holiness. It was very heartening. The priest from our parish gave a very firm and powerful homily concerning the priest sex scandal, and did not shrink from the gravity of the situation. The message was Stay firm in the faith. The Church will get past this and go on.

      There’re very few Priests are holy. We’re much worse than what we want to except. A few of holy priests and laid people whom are enlightened must pray unceasingly for conversion of all people and for us all to live out accordingly to God’s teaching or chastisement will come. I’ve lived in all three states on the west coast. Seattle, Portland and Sacramento. Intern of holy Priests or laid people. There’re very few. I see many Priest are so busy with many things. Even with us laid people. The temptations from ourselves and the evil one is to distract us from praying a lot. Because the evil one knows that if we spend much time in prayers than we’ll be guided to only dependent on our Holy Spirit. And when we depend on our Holy Spirit. We be reverencing to mass and to help others to also reverencing to our God too. To speak out truth when we see something not align to what Jesus teaches us. We would want to care a lot for other people’s soul. I think many of us don’t pray enough and just live a life using our intellect instead of leaning on the Holy Spirit. The world can only be resolve by obeying God and living our life for God only and not for ourselves.

      Sorry, I don’t mean to offend any Priest. I’m just speaking out the truth of what I see. I’m praying for all Priests, Cardinals, Bishops, Nuns, Deacons, laid people and our Pope every day. We’re all being tempted so I recognized the needs to pray a lot. As it’s very important to walk with the Holy Spirit!

      Gwen Haong, no, there are many holy priests. satan wants you to think he is all powerful, but he is not. Yes, we must all walk with the Holy Spirit and implore constantly for mercy and grace. Our bishop here in Louisiana also had our parish priests relate a strong message to the faithful. The priest reiterated the VIRTUS principles and training and told everyone to first call the police if they know anything, and that predation upon the youth and the weak will not be tolerated. Glory to God! We are finally waking up from this nightmare.

      Gwen Hoang Franky if I am speaking the truth,And what the Church always taught,I do not care who it offends. Jesus didn't.Eople need to study and listen to the priests ,about the v2 council. Sorry but until 1 that goes,nothing will change. because everything in it was created by liars,modernists,masons communists and Bishops who knew what they were doing. In there own words. If we are to judge by fruits ,well It has brought in the largest tragedy the world has ever seen. loss of faith, not knowing thefaith,wars death destruction the world on the brink. Fatima should have been listened to. ask yourself why it was not. It will be done,But late.Our mother said. I wonder what has to happen until then. I imagine when a pope does do what Heaven asked things will be very different,and we may only have 12 bishops left.Like in the beginning. The life of the church follows the life of Christ. If we are in the passion now, what lies ahead. No man can fix this world.So whatever is suffered Is suffered because of disobedience and lack of faith,in the timeless church It's doctrines it's teachings, all the popes saints Maryters of the past are mocked, They died sacrificed for much less than is going on now.I do not care who anyone is. Jesus was very clear in his teachings ,and his actions. There is a heaven a hell and sin is real. I am a sinner. And I need The only thing that is here for my salvation.

    Holy Mother Mary has been sent by her beloved Son to cleanse His Holy Church, and she will scour, disinfect, and remove every scrap of garbage. I am so greatful for and to AB Vigano, who had the courage and love for our Church, opened the floodgates. This will not be pretty, but is essential. The Church is in it's Holy Week, and will reach it's passion, will be crucified, BUT WILL BE RESURECTED. We must remain faithful to HIM.

      We are to pray for them... cause Scriptures says( To open their eyes, [and] to turn [them] from darkness to light, and [from] the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me. Acts 26:18 KJV) ... as for penance.. sorry that is NOT in Scriptures! The sinner must confess his sins on his own. As Christians however we can Pray against principalities... Ephesians 6:12 KJV For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

      The Church are followers of my Lord JESUS CHRIST....The body of Christ........ and NOT some man made Religion Idol worshiping.. paying for prayers and Indulgences traditions of men. The Church is NOT a building or a religion............Jesus did not incarnate in order to establish a church, and he did not counsel his disciples to establish churches. His mission was to proclaim the establishment of the Kingdom of God in the hearts of mankind, and to free mankind from the bondage of churches of authority.
      He himself, a child of Jewish parents, raised in the churches and synagogues of his day, later was murdered for his refusal to conform to the authority of that very belief system in which he was raised. Jesus was not wholly opposed to churches; he worked with members of churches, and honored and encouraged church members, but, Jesus' message was one of spiritual liberation-liberation from set dogmas, creeds, and established tenets-into a new way of realizing and finding God, who, he taught, indwells every human mind. This new way of discovering God and recognizing Truth had nothing to do with setting up churches. Instead, it proclaimed that the Kingdom is within each of us, discoverable by each individual. Jesus taught that the Kingdom is within-right now-and that one enters its gates simply by faith that one is, in fact, a child of God.

    Praise Jesus for the opening for sanctification of His Church.
    I was surprised by tears that came to my eyes at Mass this evening when our young parish priest spoke so clearly and openly about faith in these times of rot within the Church.
    WIthin the first calling of Bishops by Christ, 8.5% of them fell to rot. Judas. The Church didn't survive without internal horror - in the first cohort! That is how prevalent the attack of Satan against Christ's Church is - started within the first twelve.
    Keep the faith - to whom else would we turn???
    Pray more than you think or speak.
    Works. Every. Time.

      But to keep the faith it seems we can only pray incessantly for the tormented church that is really "Catholic" in name only, hold fast to the traditions of the *true* One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church as best we can when we can find a real Mass to assist at or even if we just have to stay home and read the Mass from St. Andrews Missal and make an Act of Contrition and a Spiritual Communion and keep saying our daily Rosary and wearing our Brown Scapular. What else can we really do? While I am angered and grieved about what's happened to the church I recognize that it is no longer the true Church, and to participate in its false worship is to offend God and imperil our souls. We must worship Him as best we can in our homes and safe places and never stop praying for the Church which has been changed into a counterfeit church. But I have confidence in God and in the Immaculate Heart of Mary, which will triumph, as promised.

    Last year we started a rosary group on Thursdays explicitly for priests, bishops, cardinals and the pope. Four to six of us meet weekly for a public rosary. I recommend this practice to any and every Catholic. We share guilt in the condition of the Church since we have not been diligent in praying for our priests and bishops. Remember Nineveh. Repentance is possible. Pray for your priests, bishops and cardinals. Pray for the Church. Do not give up and do not despair.

    Father David Chiantella I will add your name at the end of my rosary. I do have a list of Priests that I call their names praying for them and asking God to place a hedge of protection around them. With the current atrocious scandals echoing throughout the Universe I had no choice but to remove the names of some of the Priests off my list. I am currently replacing these names with new ones, once I feel comfortable with a Priest either behind the screen or physically seeing him he gets to be added on my list of Clergy . I thank you for your comments Father for I am convinced there are some good Priests remaining within the faith we just need to identify them to keep the Catholic Faith alive. I agree the deceivers and worshippers of Satan will not step down. It's a complete waist of time to ask and request politely that they depart from the Church. If it was that easy for them to leave when they are asked, then there wouldn't be any need at all for the formation of our Exorcist Priests. What needs to be done is the use of force to make them to go. That's the only option. Otherwise we will have great difficulty to drain the swamp, wash the walls of the Catholic Church and purify it to start anew. I truly fear there could he an uprising at every level within the Church. And it's not going to be peaceful. All incidents will be instructed by the HOLY SPIRIT.
    God bless you a father. May you always be under the mantle of the BVM.

    I don't think you're telling us to be silent. It does go worth noting that when we see faults in others, we must be twice as diligent in scrutinizing ourselves. CS Lewis said the same in his day, and actually got a lot of flak for it, but it is true. We all have concupiscence. Being right doesn't necessarily make us acquitted before God, it just lets us be unaware of particular sins and faults in our own spiritual life.

      @ eagleeye. Sorry to counter your claim of Russia needs consecration of the IHof M. It's been done by Pope John Paul 11. One may dispute the choice of words used by Pope John Paul in the consecration, but not his action/and or intent. Secondly , Sister Lucia, confirmed that OBL had accepted the [second] consecration. Thirdly, soon after the second consecration, we witnessed the fall of communism in all Europe including Russia. Fourthly, Russia has since, become more Christian than any other country in Europe. To be sure they are not Catholic in the true sense of the word, however OBL. did not specify that Russia convert to any particular denomination, only that they be consecrated to her Immaculate Heart.

    I have not seen "arrogance" among the laity who are denouncing the homosexual clerical cabal and the silence and complicity of the hierarchy. I have seen anger, outrage and demands for resignations. I have seen a lot of "arrogance" from the hierarchy, saying this is "not a massive, massive crisis." This is a good homily...except for falsely accusing the laity of "arrogance" for criticizing bishops' covering up and enabling sexual predatory priests. Silence in the face of public sin is one of the nine ways to be accessory to sin.

    • @esthervolina3941
      @esthervolina3941 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Did I read this wrong?
      I am open to idea I might be wrong here -- I didn't think that he was accusing the laity of being arrogant. I felt it was more an exhortation to be careful of sin of pride or arrogance. As heinous as it may sound, God loves these people, these disgusting animallike humans . . . because He is God.
      My take on this was that the speaker was warning us something like the scripture passage " not to look at the splinters in someone else's eyes and refuse to see the plank in our own." (Granted most would see this homosexual clerical cabal as THE ONES having the planks, the trees, the huge boulders.) I think it is precisely because it is so easy to see their sins that the speaker warns us.
      He says that the devil was the second most beautiful to Mary and he became arrogant and fell.
      We are all capable of doing this. This situation could maybe make any of us overconfident, feel entitled perhaps-- a bit privy to special favor, protection, grace, or arrangements from God. It would be very human to do this --even on a subtle level-- especially when one sees the depravity, violence, deceitful treason, betrayal, and tragedy of these our clergyman. Maybe it could become a bit convenient to see THEIR sin and NOT OUR OWN F***-ups, frailties, failings, failings because they are in such grave and perilous situations; and forget our own.
      I think this is what he is saying. I don't think he is criticizing us for criticizing them. I think he is just cautiously asserting that we are all sinners. And maybe watch out for the convenience of feeling like we are better than them and can look sinless when compared to them. It can be so easy to sit here and accuse -- VERY HUMAN IN FACT-- and while it is necessary to see the truth and know the truth, one needs to be careful about not getting lost in the anger and hatred and a possible sense of moral superiority. (I feel I must sound funny saying this because, after all, who could not want to point their fingers at them or, morr like, tear there fingers off !!!)
      Hope this helps.

    • @patsyk1213
      @patsyk1213 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Esther Volina. What the speaker did is called a "straw man argument," where he sets up a hypothetical extreme problem that does not exist .... then proceeds to correct that extreme non-existent problem. I have not seen any laity become "arrogant" in their criticism of the bad decisions and cover-up activities of the hierarchy.
      The speaker changed the subject from the current topic of bad hierarchy to sinful laity. Quick-change artist. Clever deflection. Of course, the laity is also sinful...everyone already knows that. What is news is the hierarchy lying and putting youth and seminarians at risk...by covering up the sins of sexually abusive priests and bishops. That's the news...but this speaker pretends there "arrogant" laity who are bringing this news to the public.
      Btw, now there is an "arrogant" (sarcasm) papal nuncio who is revealing the truth about the hierarchy and Pope Francis covering up for McCarrick's sexual predation on seminarians. This speaker cannot deflect against "arrogant laity"...when papal nuncios are also revealing the truth about the cover-up.

      Patz13 - I have seen comments from borderline Protestant Catholics as well as orthodox, traditional Catholics that go beyond anger. Demands for resignations are understandable, if limited to guilty parties...but I've seen accusations against every single bishop, e.g. "They ALL knew, they ALL need to resign." There's talk of "voting with my donation to the collection basket." Silence in the face of known sin is to be an accessory to sin, but false accusation is itself a mortal sin. We can't accuse without knowing the facts in all cases.

    • @patsyk1213
      @patsyk1213 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      KA Fleury. The speaker directed his anger at the laity...instead of at the hierarchy where it belongs. As noted by AmericanRebel above, the speaker insulted and condemned many faithful Catholics, saying: "Many Orthodox and Traditional Catholics are sounding so arrogant about the abuse scandals online... that they might leave the church like Martin Luther did".
      The anger of Catholics is justified after stupid bishops, who did not properly discipline sexually abusive priests, cost the laity $4 Billion in settlements and mountains of bad publicity. That $4 Billion came from the laity...not from priests or bishops. Now after claiming they corrected the sex abuse problems...we learn they covered up for sexually abusive Cardinal McCarrick, while he got promotion after promotion! How many other sexually abusive bishops are there?
      Additionally, the bishops dropped the ball with the Dallas Charter which omitted any oversight of bishops. Now the bishops will get oversight along with a lot of hostility and just anger for their deliberate omission, while claiming "zero tolerance." The laity have the right to vote with our contributions... and direct them away from bishops we do not trust.

    • @oneperson5760
      @oneperson5760 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have seen the arrogance online he speaks of, people saying they will leave the church because of this, as if they themselves have no sin. As if there is anywhere else to go! This last Sunday's mass readings are so profound in light of all this. "As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord" and "Will you, too, leave me?... Lord, where would we go?" Yes, this is horrible, corrupt, grievous and wicked. So is the nature of human sin. But the human leaders of the church are NOT the church. We are. So, all this talk of leaving the church by Catholics is arrogance, as if there is any other place to go and they could find or make a better church than did our Lord. It's short-sighted to leave the true body and blood of our Lord over the wickedness of man.

I thought the catholic/orthodox Christian communities as an ongoing fulfillment not replacement. some how I always consider the Jews history with god as an ongoing life rhat flows into Christianity to this day. A complex relationship that remains vital, connected, and partners in salvation history. Oh well ...

      Joni Lea - well said except for the part “lost their status”. All god’s covenant’s are irrevocable. I understand this is a contentious debate and held by more traditionally inclined Catholics. Of course I could continue on this but .....I would like to add that Jews living as a testament to god’s chosen people who expect the messiah helps hold and maintain the gospel of Jesus Christ and his identity as the messiah. Christian beliefs, especially in America are very much flying out in distortions that remove the core gospel message of salvation and completely remove all of the Old Testament life. The latest thing is to have lay groups gather in homes to discuss passages without Christians and Jews lives from the past and have dinners in the home. While visiting my cuz, a relative showed to discuss passages. Comments were without their background as Assembly of God. Comments on passages I could tell were moving away from true teachings and history. I was sickened by this. They were not even being assemblies. It was just free wheeling.
