  • This video is decoding a Mechanical Push Button Combination Door Lock. They can be easy to decode providing right tension is used. Some are difficult too, hence reason we love lock picking and lock sport in general to show some faults and ways to open locks.
    These can be pin tumblers, warded locks, lever locks or combination type locks you see here.
    Hope you like.
    Happy Picking & Keep All Lock picking Legal.

    You can do the same with combo locks on bike chain and padlocks

      @waddac2  24 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Yes, you can do same bike locks and padlocks. I have a couple of videos on my channel decoding padlocks. Best one I did was a Squire combination padlock. You couldn't tension the shackle and had to put force on the open button on base of padlock. Think the Squire one was taken down by TH-cam but other is still there and think it was a PureGyme combination lock.

    Didn’t work. Any advice? It’s a Briton lock that I’m trying. Some keys feel firmer than others but none seem as firm as C.

    • @waddac2
      @waddac2  9 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Hi,
      When I say in video pushing "C" will give an indication of how binding buttons feel, that does not mean that all binding numbers will fell exactly like that, its a little indication and a reminder to to what binding is buddy.
      Go with numbers binding more than another one. Also, have you tried applying more tension to the wheel using pliers or mole grips etc ?
      Keep me informed of progress my friend. 👍👍

    • @JohnBambolino
      @JohnBambolino 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Thanks for your reply!
      Just to confirm - does the order of the numbers matter? And if I get the correct code, do I need to release the tension or should it automatically open?
      It’s a car park toilet I regularly use after work - but they keep changing the code because of druggies - but I need a cheeky piss haha :))

    • @JohnBambolino
      @JohnBambolino 9 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      And once more comment - I’m even more confused now because another person was saying you need to push down and the correct numbers will go down and the incorrect numbers will be harder. But maybe that’s only for old worn locks.

    • @waddac2
      @waddac2  8 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      @@JohnBambolino No, you do not have to put the numbers in order, you can put them in any order even if you have the code. Many people who know nothing about locks and how they work will not know this regarding these combination door locks.
      As you can see in the video my friend. I apply the tension, check for binding buttons. When I detect the most button binding I release tension, push that button in and apply tension again looking for next binding button, release..... press that button, apply tension again and find next etc. When you get to final button in combination, release, press button and apply tension, the lock will open.
      You cannot fully push a button in while tensioning the turning knob anyway.

      Thanks for watching and commenting. Funny you mention doing same with bike locks. I had a work friend years back who had a very expensive bike and a rubbish combination bike lock. He did not at the time know I was a locksporter/lock picker, but told him to get a better better lock but replied there was nothing wrong with his lock. He use to put his bike on a telegraph pole outside so he could look now and again from his office window to make sure it was okay... Now the funny part as decided to play a couple of jokes. LOL!!!!
      When I knew he was out of his office, I ran outside, decoded the lock in seconds while people passed and moved it to the next telegraph pole and ran back in. I heard him complaining to other workers he swore he placed on a different. I would then move it back. I did this the following day too and this time placed lock on different areas of the bike. He thought he was going made, so told him and showed him. At this point I explained and showed him. He asked advice and next day came with a brand new expensive "D" lock for his very expensive bike. 😂😂🤣🤣😂😂

    Random video. But genuinely, one day years ago on a building site one of these was installed. I randomly challenged myself, had a go at cracking it. I didn't turn the knob but I did feel for resistance. I honestly first tried, figured out the feeling of the resistance, reset and then tried the code I got response from.. opened the door within 60-90 seconds. A complete amateur yet I cracked it. Absolutely not safe.

    This vid popped up io my feed randomly, but has actually been really insightful. We have a bunch of storage lockers at work that use this style of combination lock, however over the years staff members have left without passing on the combinations, and codes have inevitably been lost or forgotton, with many of the lockers now inaccessible. When I am next at work, I am definately going to give this a try (Its just a shame I came across this video after they recently bought a bunch of new replacement lockers!).

    • @waddac2
      @waddac2  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      Great question and glad you asked buddy. To me there is no way of knowing if encountering the lock for the first, but once code has been decoded the bolt will move all the way but will not open, so remember code and put it back in and turn opposite direction.
      I have encountered problems in the past in large organizations where they buy these in bulk and if a problem with one they just the push button part and not the part on other side of the door. These are designed to open counter clock wise on one side of a door, on somewhere else made to turn clock wise to open on another door. Now if a porter etc. does not pay attention to putting correct direction lock on correct side, code will still work fine and so will the lock, but you word for instance have to turn the opening thumb bolt towards the door frame for locking bolt to retract to open the door,
      Hope you understand what I mean by that?

    I wouldn't have thought this could work. The ones I've seen have red and blue tabs behind the buttons, each key moves the tab. Only the correct tabs moved allow the lock to open so all buttons feel the same.
    I'll give this a go.

    • @waddac2
      @waddac2  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      Yes, if combination needs changing... Behind lock to change there are red tabs on most... Never seen blue tabs but that does not matter.
      If at work etc and get given code to open one, it does not matter in which order the code is keyed in, as long as all are typed in.
      If having issues opening one like I did here, I explain more tension maybe needed. An oval opener is easy to grip.... If rounded.... a pair of grips to apply tension to find binding buttons will help.

    It's all well and good saying go digital but electronic locks all depend on a relay to transfer the digital signal into a mechanical action or release. Whether it is a latch release or a powerful electromagnet they can all be bypassed with a correctly placed magnet if significant strength. touch your magnet to the position of the relay and it opens. Not to mention for health and safety reasons they are usually set to a normally open state in case of power outages you want people to be able to evacuate in an emergency so if you can kill the power to the door lock it will open. Granted they can be set up to be normally closed but this typically will create a safety hazard as these locks are mostly used in businesses and/or public buildings with staff areas and deem such areas to be illegally unsafe pretty much globally. What you did there took you a long time but any digital lock could potentially be bypassed in less than 5 seconds.

      Yes correct in saying for code that only one can be used, so very well said my friend and again can be pushed in any order you choose as long as correct code is entered.

I still saved Peter Carington's mojo when he resigned as Foreign Secretary, flogging the entire Cadbury Schweppes depot stores to NAAFI (there was nobody to stop me, best traditions of the Senior Service) which tickled him when he attended a Main Board meting that afternoon as a non-exec, so they hauled me out of the line into the Group HQ combat team in the Cola Wars, developing skills in economic warfare which translated into the WEU activity as the Iron Curtain fell - I'd given a heads-up to 5 in 78 and repeated it to the SG in Nov 88, which meant I was a must-have.
