I don't know why, but every time I hear this, it sends chills down my spine. I love it. The writing of it is genius, and should be recognized even if it means we are forced to hear it on DVDs
Composer for this version goes to Brian Tyler. Worked on Transformers Prime, part of Age of Ultron, Eagle Eye, Modern Warfare 3, Assassins Creed IV, and many others.
Dont you just love it when you're sitting down with your family in the movie theater and the movies starts and begins playing this song? This bring back so many memories
fun fact: the first horn rip is played on french horn, and following the double timpani strike, the _next_ horn rip is actually about eight or so wagner tubas playing the same line, you can listen and hear the change in tamber and sound direction
And the Universal theme sounds quite similar to the horns --> timpani --> tuba+trombones start of Wagner's overture to The Flying Dutchman: th-cam.com/video/HI3CS0xfico/w-d-xo.html
@@DEmili-pu6rz Actually no, AlaskanTrain is correct. The same notes that are being played by French horns, are played in the Wagner tuba response-tag. The Wagner Tubas sound brighter than the horns bc of how their bells are faced. The timbre also differs bc of how they’re wrapped and coiled
@@DEmili-pu6rz It legit is the case here. Richard Wagner created the Wagner Tuba to bridge the gap between horns and trombones. It’s a little less straightforward than the trombone but more present than the horns, hints why the response-tag is brighter. The tag consists of only three notes: written F4, Bb4 and F5 (concert pitch Bb3, Eb4 and Bb4). Horns and Wagner Tubas which are fundamentally both in F play the same three-note tag
This brings at every event the power of being a Hollywood star for a day In every "shine like a star birthday", play it when the cake enters, maybe with the fountains
From Horror, to Action/Adventure, Comedy, Thriller, Romance, Sci-fi, the list goes on. Universal entertained us for 100 years and will do so 100 years more until the end of time Universal is here to stay.
Many on here are commenting that it gives them goosebumps and chills. I mean how many pieces of music gives 80% of people hills like this? Can't think of many. Incredibly epic and theatrical piece of music with so many components which mesh together perfectly, culminating in cracking ending. Whoever the composer is... Take.. a... bow!
I love that sound.... dont know why, it just symbolises positivity and excellence, you know? Is it possible that you could make this again but somehow make it about a minute or two long? I'd like to use it for a video I'm making about my trip to Universal Studios in Hollywood. Thanks x
Brass instruments are often used to symbolise purity, heaven, bravery, justice etc. Also they play in perfect fifths (the space in-between the notes) which gives it that grounding secure feeling. This is coupled with the percussion hits which again scream bombasticity or confidence. Certainty, excellence, etc. And the high violins create that shimmering effect which is the icing on the cake.
It is rare that someone could improve upon something Jerry Goldsmith wrote. Especially this one. But somehow, that rising line from Tyler manages to do that. Nice!

This brings at every event the power of being a Hollywood star for a day
In every "shine like a star birthday", play it when the cake enters, maybe with the fountains
When I heard this song I knew the movie was gonna be epic. When I was asked what my favorite part of the movie was so would say the Universal intro!!
That is missunderstanding, and would mean the movie was bad, but I get your point
That must mean a whole lot of Universal Pictures movies of the last eight years have been awful.
