I know you mentioned a lot of people don't like imbues, so I would recommend those people try the bursting venoms aspect. I personally can't play without it and it means perma poison imbue on big packs and often it's up on bosses! I got used to playing without edgies but it's probably higher dps to use edgies. But just wanted to give a suggestion to them if the cd and reapplications are the problem with it because this build looks awesome as all of your vids have!!!
I discovered this aspect in leveling and I'm using it in my flurry build. For me it's the most broken aspect there is, I don't know if it works for barrage, but I don't see anyone talking about it and it's ridiculous the damage it brings to both aoe and single target.

One of the biggest factors why barrage build has extra survivability is the importance of positioning for it to be efficient. Basically, you never get yourself into middle of the mob, but always staying on the edge to maximize the number of mobs you hit.
This is the first Diablo I’ve played and I’m loving it and I have chosen rogue. It has been a struggle learning how to use the character and this build looks awesome for closer to end game. I’m still early game trying to figure out how to use the character. Love this video and helps me a ton

Barrage was first I played with for a day or so.. then fell into YT D4 builds rabbit hole lol, tried melee for another day or so.. but I'm a Guild Wars 2 vet and love my pew pew thief builds, so jumped on the pen shot builds. Still haven't felt quite right with it, so gonna give this a whirl!
Shadow Step is great, but now I prefer to go with Stealth. More DPS out of it, better positionning, speed burst to hunt down objectives/auras... It also opens some new powers, some of them quite OP (like the possibility to drop 4 poison traps around while walking stealthed). Try it out!

Nice build! This is really the beauty of D4: You can find so many different combinations / builds. I stumbled upon my own Version of imbuement which now is a shadow / frost / poison combination that works extremly well in 50+ Dungeons. Havn't seen any youtuber using it yet. Feels great to find your own build that actually works 😊
@@aryssobral I disagree. You can not only change skills or passives, but also paragon boards, glyphs and legendary / unique effects. While there are some core skills used more than others, I see a lot of variation (including in my own builds) within them.

Yeah they need to change the paragon system IMO. To your point - way too expensive, and way too time consuming clicking each tile. Why no button to instantly reset all paragon points?

Haha of course! Yes, for Pen Shot there is definitely some viability to running two spenders. You would drop poison trap, keep 2 imbuements, and 1 unstoppable skill. I plan to discuss that in a video tomorrow :)

Hey Valued, been following your builds sense I switched off twisted blade to pen shot. I really enjoy the play style, I have it for PC and series X and actually prefer playing with controller on the Xbox and I been a diehard PC Diablo player sense 2 released. I am about to give this barrage build a shot and I am kind of confused why you didn’t take the rare node Dominant on the Cunning Stratagem board. Thinking just an error on the planner sense it’s only two paragon points away from your path to the glyph. Anyway, love the content! Keep up the great work!
I was looking for this specific build everywhere. I dont like frost and i like everything you use. I was trying to set this up myself but i was struggling.
Cool stuff, running barrage as well, focusing on poison imbue mainly, but use shadow too. I run Preparation specialization and use rain of arrows instead of the trap. Will look into the mangler aspect, since I can see it's super useful! The poison pool aspect, that removes limits and cooldown of poison imbue, when I stand in it, is my jam - my favourite thing I found so far. Still only lvl. 68, but already in WT4. Thanks for the ideas!
i went consealment and 3 imbues, works with trap as well. Btw the faster your attack speed the more dps and energy regain. Pushing lvl 60 at lvl 80. So basically doing 30 lvls higher then me
Yeah that's an interesting note about the attack speed. I was toying around with including Accelerating Aspect and CQC key passive - but I noticed with too much attack speed there's just a lot of downtime with imbuement skills. So to your point, if you're stacking Attack Speed - you could benefit from taking all 3.
@@Valuedx So true. I think there is an aspect and a glyph that can help out with that. I forget but there is a senergy build that you can do if you get the right aspects and glyph. But its pretty much trail and error. Currently i have to make a build where i dont get 1 shotted in teir 62 at lvl 83. xD
I think that unique you get when you first beat Lilith (forgot the name) can help a lot with uptime.. basically get a refund when you hit multiple enemies which you are doing almost always with most rogue builds. It has a permanent spot on my ring slot and would love to get upgrades
This is exactly what i'm running but instead of barrage, im using flurry and instead of shadow imbue, im playing cold imbue. the x4 cast of flurry means you only have to cast it once to fully freeze packs with cold imbue, and then im running the unique boots for extra chilled damage. the only difference is it benefits massively from tricks of the trade so out of concealment with guaranteed crit, ive seen flurry do 700k x4 on bosses and im level 80 lots of cool interactions that people are still discovering because most just went to a guide page and picked the twisted blades build and completely ignored that most of rogue damage scaling comes from combo points
Flurry is awesome too. I plan to test out some of the best variants and make a video for an updated endgame flurry build. To the point of your ending comment, a lot of people have slept on the fact that combo points actually amplifies more than just damage too. If you look at Barrage for example, it's shooting extra arrows based on your combo points used. And I'm running Cunning Stratagem on my paragon board too, which is giving 33% more arrows (which boils down to around 2-3 [weird math lol]).
So I just hit 50, and I took the time in World Tier 1 yesterday to go after all these aspects... You can tell as my gear gets better this build will be great. I was just running into mobs, dropping a poison trap and going through the rotations, was melting elite's and bosses with it.
I then popped up to World Tier 2, and had no issues beating the required dungeon to unlock Nightmare mode or World Tier 3. Thanks for the awesome build.
This looks good, not going to lie. I came from the meta twistingblades/puncture build, melee on a ranged character just isn't for me .. So i went penshot/rapidfire with the poison/shadow imbues, it's great fun, but this looks even better. I find myself coming close to death and spamming potions alot more now that i'm in act4 quests.

Yeah we're at a very interesting point with a lot of Rogue builds where our options are very open. If you wanted to take that, I would replace Mangler's Aspect and give up the CC. But for me, it feels very nice to consistently knock enemies down and have that uptime.

@@Valuedx yeah for sure. lot of room for experimenting, new game. goofing around with stuns. double shadow step + evading droping grenades. 2h weapon with +80% multiplicative damage (40% x stunned aspect) on top of all crowd control bonuses. elites/champions die in like 4-5 seconds. im gonna work a bit more on it to check its viable for PVP, seems outrageous
This is my build except using shadow clone instead of poison trap.. hope manglers aspect and barrage doesnt get nerfed.. people are slowly realizing underrated stuff actually OP
Found your channel because I was starting d4. Your guides have been really helpful and informed and I'm running your penetrating build to level up. I would love to see these 15-20 guides for new comers who know how to play, but dont understand specific mechanics like i did: how to get aspects, what to junk or sell, what type of beginner build to progress, how to level up the skill tree when leveling up, etc
It would be nice on the website you have the build to also add the best in slot items we should look for with the right stats to make this work. For a new player like myself I try to stack as much vunerable dmg and crit as I can but defensive stats are weird. Too many to go through and choose
With regards to putting points on Dark Shroud. The free casts from Umbrous are effected by that? I would not have thought that. How did we even figure that out lol🤯
I couldn't really stand Imbuement on some of the melee builds back in beta, but I find it a lot more tolerable in these ranged combo point builds where it's going to be ready more likely than not in time for you to use your core skill.
Yeah it gets even better later on with more cooldown reduction stats available to you. You can get cooldown reduction (and imbuement cooldown reduction) on a lot of pieces :)
Good guide but what would make it great is seeing a build that pins itself as a defensive oriented build putting some bloody+health stat in ANY of the 5 different pieces youre ignoring at the moment!! You're leaving more than 5k HP on the table! And you have dmg reduction on your pants only, chest has 1 stat line devoted to it and helm has no defensive stats at all. No defensives on amulet.
Where I am I haven't needed to socket Rubys in my armor. Topaz is almost a must, otherwise you will die in high level nightmare dungeons on any interaction with Crowd Control. Amulet can be defensive if you so choose, the option I would do is move Umbrous aspect to amulet, and then add Cheat's Aspect to your helmet. This build has the potential to be insanely defensive, and everyone will need varying amounts of defensives dependent on their gear.

Flurry Build with Poison is still the Number 1 OP Build for Rogue at the moment, yours is okay but when it comes to kill mass enemies it slices through like hot knife to butter.

Well the beautiful thing is each of the end game build videos I'm making are viable options. Me personally, honestly it depends on the day. Sometimes I'm looking for those satisfying Pen Shot destructive 1 shots, but I also love Barrage because it's so consistent.
I might switch my Death Trap out and build more like this one. Though, I am finding that I am way too strong for co-op. Hopefully that will change when we get to T3.

I put together what I personally think are the 'best' combinations, but the video could be really confusing if I talk about all the alternatives, because there are a lot. You can do cold imbue with penitent greaves You could play a build that uses the arrow storms aspect and puts more focus on ST with barrage There's a lot of variations, did you have any specific questions about aspects/uniques? I could try to answer those here.

Hey Valued, I'm level 51 right now. I switched off my previous build to try this one. I have Umbral and Manglers. I'm not struggling with survivability at all, but I feel like I'm dealing less damage. My affixes are decent. Do i need to farm more of the Aspects to get my damage up?

hey man thanks for the videos. i know you talked about transitioning from 50 but can you talk about it more? im really having a rough time how to gear my character. unless i see the perfect item im just burning them. i havent made any progress with my rogue. thanks
Firstly you need to switch to sacred gear asap.. almost all sacred gear at that point are upwards of 650 item power which is much better than even usual legendary gear which are normally 600ish power or lower ( you get a big power spike at 625). I even got a crossbow to 725 with upgrades. I'd say the best way to go about it is: 1. Do tree stuff a few times until you grab a few decent sacred gear(don't worry much abt perfecting substats- some good rolls are fine) 2. When you are comfortable out in the wild, hunt out the statue of Lilith and side quests along the way to farm your paragon points and exp at the same time.. also do world events whenever available in the meantime 3. You will get your character upgraded and stronger quite a bit doing the above 4. If you are done with the above (or feeling bored and want some change) and your character is still not strong enough to go to WT4, next step would be to farm nightmare dungeons (you can go a bit easy on the world events now probably). The main aim in this step is to focus farm exp and glyph exp to get strong enough to go to WT 4. 5. After going to WT4, this is where the real farming starts.. This is when you replace your sacred gear with ancestral gear for another big jump in power. Nightmare dungeons and world events are the choice farms now
It is really tough Space, I get it. You already watched the 1-100 rogue progression guide? The most important thing is to make sure you're pacing correctly, and not trying to jump to harder world tiers before your gear is ready. In my opinion, one of two things will carry you: stats or aspects. Either you have/find most of the aspects needed, or you have really good stats (as i outlined in this video) that will amplify your damage to a point where you can clear content. Hopefully that helps, I can clarify more if you need.
hmm so rather 30% attackspeed on basic skills than 25% attackspeed for 5 seconds across all? thank you for the guide, appreciate you! and do you need the skills into darkshroud? after playing it I am not that big of a fan of the design of the skill, takes so long to ramp up in dmg
The thing about Rapid Aspect is that it's always there, and makes it so your movement can be superb while you're navigating through dungeons and kiting packs of mobs.
My rogue is lvl 38 and my biggest problem is survivability as well. My main problem is with the quest end bosses and all the mobs and spells they cast about. Most everything else is no problem. I'm running a barrage build and it really kicks butt until that final boss at the end. I been getting really good at kiting the boss but CC is really hard. I am not running poison trap though so that is probably one problem. Gear is another. Always swapping out new for old and sometimes its slim pickings but has gotten better last few levels. I think I'm going to try this build. I was going to try your penetrating build but now you came out with this. A comparison between your barrage and penetrating builds would be really nice or at least some thoughts on the two?

What if you replace Barrage with Rapid fire in your build, leave everything as it is (except ofc the Barrage aspect for Rapid aspect). My problem with Rapid Fire personally is that it lacks the AOE clear I want in a build. I have a build guide coming out that features Pen Shot + Rapid Fire, but I think if you're going 1 spender route, Barrage feels better (in my experience at level 100, with my gear set up). I have played all 3 of the core spenders on their own, and in conjunction with other spenders and from my experience at level 100 specifically, that's what I've come to find. But, maybe I should experiment more around Rapid Fire. Because, if I were to go Rapid Fire, I probably wouldn't take poison imbue since you don't need it. RF is insane for ST damage.

@@Anzatoro Rapid Fire can deal with AOE situations, just not as well as Barrage. I've personally felt that Barrage does a better job dealing with versatile situations.
is hovering at 15% HP almost non-stop really survivability? I see other classes full HP still at tier 60. They need to fix rogues. Playing hardcore sucks right now. Druid has a build thats basically immune to almost everything right now
Are you referring to the dungeon where all of my health is just being destroyed by poison damage? That's a bad example, I do get your point though. If you compare Rogues to other classes - yes it's a lot more stressful than other classes for HC and we are (probably) the least safe class next to Sorc end game.

dodge chance is extremely important for maintaining dark shrouds. the more u dodge, the more little orbs u see spinning around u.
Just grab the aspect that grants you an orb 90% on critical strike. Unlimited orbs.

I am about to give this barrage build a shot and I am kind of confused why you didn’t take the rare node Dominant on the Cunning Stratagem board. Thinking just an error on the planner sense it’s only two paragon points away from your path to the glyph.

Level 100 rogue here, love the pen shot and imbued damage, easily dealing damage for 70-75 nm dungeons, but survivability is rough !

I was looking for this specific build everywhere. I dont like frost and i like everything you use. I was trying to set this up myself but i was struggling.
Cool stuff, running barrage as well, focusing on poison imbue mainly, but use shadow too. I run Preparation specialization and use rain of arrows instead of the trap. Will look into the mangler aspect, since I can see it's super useful! The poison pool aspect, that removes limits and cooldown of poison imbue, when I stand in it, is my jam - my favourite thing I found so far. Still only lvl. 68, but already in WT4. Thanks for the ideas!
i went consealment and 3 imbues, works with trap as well. Btw the faster your attack speed the more dps and energy regain. Pushing lvl 60 at lvl 80. So basically doing 30 lvls higher then me
Yeah that's an interesting note about the attack speed. I was toying around with including Accelerating Aspect and CQC key passive - but I noticed with too much attack speed there's just a lot of downtime with imbuement skills. So to your point, if you're stacking Attack Speed - you could benefit from taking all 3.
@@Valuedx So true. I think there is an aspect and a glyph that can help out with that. I forget but there is a senergy build that you can do if you get the right aspects and glyph. But its pretty much trail and error. Currently i have to make a build where i dont get 1 shotted in teir 62 at lvl 83. xD
I think that unique you get when you first beat Lilith (forgot the name) can help a lot with uptime.. basically get a refund when you hit multiple enemies which you are doing almost always with most rogue builds. It has a permanent spot on my ring slot and would love to get upgrades

This is exactly what i'm running but instead of barrage, im using flurry and instead of shadow imbue, im playing cold imbue. the x4 cast of flurry means you only have to cast it once to fully freeze packs with cold imbue, and then im running the unique boots for extra chilled damage. the only difference is it benefits massively from tricks of the trade so out of concealment with guaranteed crit, ive seen flurry do 700k x4 on bosses and im level 80
lots of cool interactions that people are still discovering because most just went to a guide page and picked the twisted blades build and completely ignored that most of rogue damage scaling comes from combo points
Flurry is awesome too. I plan to test out some of the best variants and make a video for an updated endgame flurry build.
To the point of your ending comment, a lot of people have slept on the fact that combo points actually amplifies more than just damage too.
If you look at Barrage for example, it's shooting extra arrows based on your combo points used. And I'm running Cunning Stratagem on my paragon board too, which is giving 33% more arrows (which boils down to around 2-3 [weird math lol]).

Barrage is so underrated I used it while leveling and never looked back
I love barrage personally.
So I just hit 50, and I took the time in World Tier 1 yesterday to go after all these aspects... You can tell as my gear gets better this build will be great. I was just running into mobs, dropping a poison trap and going through the rotations, was melting elite's and bosses with it.
I then popped up to World Tier 2, and had no issues beating the required dungeon to unlock Nightmare mode or World Tier 3. Thanks for the awesome build.

I came from the meta twistingblades/puncture build, melee on a ranged character just isn't for me ..
So i went penshot/rapidfire with the poison/shadow imbues, it's great fun, but this looks even better.
I find myself coming close to death and spamming potions alot more now that i'm in act4 quests.

Yeah we're at a very interesting point with a lot of Rogue builds where our options are very open.
If you wanted to take that, I would replace Mangler's Aspect and give up the CC. But for me, it feels very nice to consistently knock enemies down and have that uptime.

@@Valuedx yeah for sure. lot of room for experimenting, new game. goofing around with stuns. double shadow step + evading droping grenades. 2h weapon with +80% multiplicative damage (40% x stunned aspect) on top of all crowd control bonuses. elites/champions die in like 4-5 seconds. im gonna work a bit more on it to check its viable for PVP, seems outrageous

I would love to see these 15-20 guides for new comers who know how to play, but dont understand specific mechanics like i did: how to get aspects, what to junk or sell, what type of beginner build to progress, how to level up the skill tree when leveling up, etc

It would be nice on the website you have the build to also add the best in slot items we should look for with the right stats to make this work. For a new player like myself I try to stack as much vunerable dmg and crit as I can but defensive stats are weird. Too many to go through and choose
Found a cdr, dmg with ranged, +3 weapon master, +3 imbuement skills amulet might make this build :)!
With regards to putting points on Dark Shroud. The free casts from Umbrous are effected by that? I would not have thought that. How did we even figure that out lol🤯
I couldn't really stand Imbuement on some of the melee builds back in beta, but I find it a lot more tolerable in these ranged combo point builds where it's going to be ready more likely than not in time for you to use your core skill.
Yeah it gets even better later on with more cooldown reduction stats available to you. You can get cooldown reduction (and imbuement cooldown reduction) on a lot of pieces :)

Good guide but what would make it great is seeing a build that pins itself as a defensive oriented build putting some bloody+health stat in ANY of the 5 different pieces youre ignoring at the moment!! You're leaving more than 5k HP on the table! And you have dmg reduction on your pants only, chest has 1 stat line devoted to it and helm has no defensive stats at all. No defensives on amulet.
Where I am I haven't needed to socket Rubys in my armor. Topaz is almost a must, otherwise you will die in high level nightmare dungeons on any interaction with Crowd Control.
Amulet can be defensive if you so choose, the option I would do is move Umbrous aspect to amulet, and then add Cheat's Aspect to your helmet. This build has the potential to be insanely defensive, and everyone will need varying amounts of defensives dependent on their gear.

Flurry Build with Poison is still the Number 1 OP Build for Rogue at the moment, yours is okay but when it comes to kill mass enemies it slices through like hot knife to butter.

Me personally, honestly it depends on the day. Sometimes I'm looking for those satisfying Pen Shot destructive 1 shots, but I also love Barrage because it's so consistent.

Hey good video, but how can you have always max energy? I'm almost level 50 with a build similar to this, with all the passives skills and aspects for energy regeneration and i always find myself with no energy, am I missin something?

You can do cold imbue with penitent greaves
You could play a build that uses the arrow storms aspect and puts more focus on ST with barrage

Yeah you can absolutely do that! I personally value the knockup, but to each their own.
Hey Valued, I'm level 51 right now. I switched off my previous build to try this one. I have Umbral and Manglers. I'm not struggling with survivability at all, but I feel like I'm dealing less damage. My affixes are decent. Do i need to farm more of the Aspects to get my damage up?
The stats on your gear are the most important thing. But also the aspects are another massive source of your damage.
I'm going to start getting these dungeons. I already started hoarding gear with most of the affixes I'll want when we get to T3. Thank you, your guidance has been Valued!

Yeah if you want an aspect to fill there I would recommend Accelerating aspect, and you'd be looking for the same stats on your second sword.

There is an unique amulet that gives your barrage every imbuement at once when using barrage
I think the amulet you're referring to gives Rain of Arrows all imbuements. Word of Hakan.

hey man thanks for the videos. i know you talked about transitioning from 50 but can you talk about it more? im really having a rough time how to gear my character. unless i see the perfect item im just burning them. i havent made any progress with my rogue. thanks
Firstly you need to switch to sacred gear asap.. almost all sacred gear at that point are upwards of 650 item power which is much better than even usual legendary gear which are normally 600ish power or lower ( you get a big power spike at 625). I even got a crossbow to 725 with upgrades.
I'd say the best way to go about it is:
1. Do tree stuff a few times until you grab a few decent sacred gear(don't worry much abt perfecting substats- some good rolls are fine)
2. When you are comfortable out in the wild, hunt out the statue of Lilith and side quests along the way to farm your paragon points and exp at the same time.. also do world events whenever available in the meantime
3. You will get your character upgraded and stronger quite a bit doing the above
4. If you are done with the above (or feeling bored and want some change) and your character is still not strong enough to go to WT4, next step would be to farm nightmare dungeons (you can go a bit easy on the world events now probably). The main aim in this step is to focus farm exp and glyph exp to get strong enough to go to WT 4.
5. After going to WT4, this is where the real farming starts..
This is when you replace your sacred gear with ancestral gear for another big jump in power. Nightmare dungeons and world events are the choice farms now
It is really tough Space, I get it.
You already watched the 1-100 rogue progression guide? The most important thing is to make sure you're pacing correctly, and not trying to jump to harder world tiers before your gear is ready.
In my opinion, one of two things will carry you: stats or aspects. Either you have/find most of the aspects needed, or you have really good stats (as i outlined in this video) that will amplify your damage to a point where you can clear content.
Hopefully that helps, I can clarify more if you need.

The thing about Rapid Aspect is that it's always there, and makes it so your movement can be superb while you're navigating through dungeons and kiting packs of mobs.
Btw are u gonna try echoes of lilith with this build?

My rogue is lvl 38 and my biggest problem is survivability as well. My main problem is with the quest end bosses and all the mobs and spells they cast about. Most everything else is no problem. I'm running a barrage build and it really kicks butt until that final boss at the end. I been getting really good at kiting the boss but CC is really hard. I am not running poison trap though so that is probably one problem. Gear is another. Always swapping out new for old and sometimes its slim pickings but has gotten better last few levels. I think I'm going to try this build. I was going to try your penetrating build but now you came out with this. A comparison between your barrage and penetrating builds would be really nice or at least some thoughts on the two?
Also which key are you using to use healing potion? The in game default is Q.

The biggest problem is final quest or dungeon bosses. This build struggles hard against them. Its very frustrating. Still struggling against them.

My problem with Rapid Fire personally is that it lacks the AOE clear I want in a build. I have a build guide coming out that features Pen Shot + Rapid Fire, but I think if you're going 1 spender route, Barrage feels better (in my experience at level 100, with my gear set up). I have played all 3 of the core spenders on their own, and in conjunction with other spenders and from my experience at level 100 specifically, that's what I've come to find.
But, maybe I should experiment more around Rapid Fire. Because, if I were to go Rapid Fire, I probably wouldn't take poison imbue since you don't need it. RF is insane for ST damage.

@@Anzatoro Rapid Fire can deal with AOE situations, just not as well as Barrage.
I've personally felt that Barrage does a better job dealing with versatile situations.
is hovering at 15% HP almost non-stop really survivability?
I see other classes full HP still at tier 60. They need to fix rogues. Playing hardcore sucks right now. Druid has a build thats basically immune to almost everything right now
Are you referring to the dungeon where all of my health is just being destroyed by poison damage? That's a bad example, I do get your point though. If you compare Rogues to other classes - yes it's a lot more stressful than other classes for HC and we are (probably) the least safe class next to Sorc end game.
