Tried all this and became an invincible bear. Immediately walked in to t3 -> t4 pinnacle fight and was able to solo easy. Crazy how effective this was (especially aspect of disobedience).
Finding your content when I played beta and seeing you made 100 inspired me to try hardcore. This is my first Diablo game I’m really getting into too. Thank you.
Disconnects making you die is the only reason I won't be trying hardcore. I have already had my game crash once and my power go out once and both of those leave your character in the server and I would go batshit crazy if I lost a high character like that.
@@d1vin1ty I mean, I love Kripp but the only video I watched of his about resistances, he literally said he had no idea how it works. That’s a direct quote

Thanks for this great info. I definitely learned a few things and have removed the rubies from my armor and replaced them with topazes. My sorcerer is a bit less squishy now. I love it when you point out what stats or items are just bait. I'd love to see a video pointing out which unique items aren't worth slotting.
The first actually useful Diablo 4 video for players like me who want to enjoy the game and figure out their own builds instead of min-maxing all the fun out of it or following guides.
This is definitely the best basic build guide I've seen. I've been trying to find videos of how to build my items and character, but none of them have been this clear.
Awesome Video! Didn't know that elemental resistances are pretty much useless. Would be awesome if you could make a similar video about offensive stats.
Stack crit damage, crit chance, vulnerable damage and get a high dps weapon. All other stuff is additive. Builds without vulnerable are subpar in the games current state. Skill tree and paragon legendaries are also often multiplicative and therefore have a lot of value. Saves you a video!
wow thanks for clearing up all the misinformation out there in other videos. Not trying to point fingers because it's a new game for everyone and we're all learning. This is top tier info though thank you!
After watching this video, I prioritized survival stats (% Damage Reduction and % Total Armor, specifically) over even Dexterity and various damage stats on my Twisting Blades Rogue. I got two upgrades: a chest piece with four defensive stats (%DR vs. Close, %DR vs. Distant, %DR, and %Armor) and an amulet with the same stats, except Energy Cost Reduction instead of %DR vs. Distant. Those two pieces, while costing me 1k Attack Power, actually allowed me to jump from doing mid-50s Nightmare Dungeons to high-60s with ease! And it makes perfect sense: since you don't have to race a timer the way you did in D3's Greater Rifts, you will clear any Nightmare Dungeons if you just don't die. In other words: dead rogues deal less damage, even if they burst harder while alive. Thank you for this video, because it got me out of the D3 mindset that I needed to maximize damage on every piece possible; being a glass cannon is not the way to go in D4!
So many vids complaining about resists not working properly or extreme diminishing returns on armor as mlvl increases. None taking the game at face value and asking what we can do given the current state. Until this one. Thanks for this!
The Kripp video that blew this issue up talked exactly about what to do in the current game, if you watched it. Stack damage reduction, conditional damage reduction (close enemies), and armor.
Small correction to 2:55 , 45% armor is ofc 55% dmg taken, you messed the number a bit. So disobedience is even better that you say there, dmg taken value goes from 55% -> 18% so at full stacks you take only roughly 1/3rd of the physical damage. Turn it around, it means you gain 66% DR with these specific values, and it's just a one legendary power. With barbarian it's even more since I'm around 60% armor without stacks but with full stacks I'm at 96%. So yeah with my barb physical dmg intake goes from 40% to 4%, meaning it's 90% effective DR against physical dmg... which means it will get nerfed eventually.
This is awesome, thank you. I used to play hardcore in Diablo 2 for years so I'm preparing to do that in DIablo 4 as well. I've started my first character on Softcore (Summoner Necro) just so that I can first explore the full game in a more relaxed manner but I am building the char still with a Hardcore mindset and also preparing to switch to Hardcore starting from Season 1.
Great info, thanks for this. My rogue build is very strong in terms of damage output, the only problem I run into in Nightmare dungeons is that when I get hard CC'd = instant death most of the time. Having a hard time finding any good gear replacements at this level but hopefully I can find some more DR gear in the near future. I almost never see any DR on gear, crazy that you have literally 3-4 DR stat stacks on some pieces lol.
Peace Wudi, first of all great clear content! Really appreciate your effort. One thing to mention for future videos would be time stamps, to navigate quickly between the various content and information, what do you think?
i'm sure you have plenty of videos lined up, but i'd really appreciate these two: an explanation on what exactly about the goat shamans does such insane amounts of dmg (beam, balls or empowered mob) and a showcase of nightmare dungeon afflictions, what to look out for etc
The shamans cast a red lightning beam onto another enemy if you hit that enemy you take some form of reflective damage that can 1 shot you. So always kill shaman first 🤣

Great video! I've been lost on trying to figure out what stats/attributed matter most on gear. Definitely going to focus on armor and damage reduction and see if that helps.
Im not at level 100 or anything, but temerity seems pretty good if you use the modifier for damage bonus while barriered as an aspect and have an appropriate amount of healing. As a barb with the 3 shouts giving 3% life/sec each, im basically barried all the time, so its a huge damage boost too.
Deine video deine streams sind top. Sehr sehr gute bulid macht Spaß anzusehen und die auszuprobieren. Habe dein Trap build bis lvl 85 gespielt! Jetzt spiele ich dein Bow build
One thing I would add for Temerity pants. They are really good to keep a barrier up on barb to activate Concieted aspect (25% dmg increase while under barrier).
Not just barb - he makes a good point though, plus that is not only 2 slots that you have to use (pants for Temerity, something else with Conceited aspect) you also lose those stats on pants. With so many good aspects available, I'd use this if I had nothing else to slot in yet
@@jlandejr You are right. However with 4 slots for weapons on Barb + amulet you are running out of options for offensive aspects. I think I might start to run defensive/utility aspect on my amulet. Drop the temerity and conceited all together.
If you're a Pulverize Druid and you have Vasily's, I recommend dropping Disobedience from the defensive aspects. Stack uptime is pretty garbage on it. That and no vulnerability outside of Exploit are the weakness of the build.
I guess the idea with Temerity is that you can have shit stats on that item but now you don't need max life on any of your other pieces . In addition you basically get permanent barrier so you can rely more on effects that activate when you have a barrier up. Still extremely niche though.
Great video! I had in nearly all my gem sockets a diamond gem socketed since I was used to it from D3. Good to know that this isn't functioning properly right now.
Thank you a lot :) A graph/ tree-diagram would be useful to explain the further damage reduction by the different stats. But never the less a great guide, ty :)
One of my favorite stats right now is damage reduction while injured. I kinda accidentally stacked near 80% of it .. they can knock me down but they have a hard time finishing me off 😆
Great video man! I learned a lot especially about elemental resistance. I always thought they were useless. Just happy to hear it confirmed from a top tier player! Keep it up brother 💪🏼❤️

I am so proud of how far you've come and how well you're doing as a content creator for Diablo games. I remember first watching your DH videos long before anyone even saw your face, in the early seasons of D3 or before, when you would talk much more quietly, and I remember thinking you were on another level, and I'm happy you're proving me right. You have worked so hard to get here and deserve all of your success. Thank you for making content, thank you for being a fucking legend.
I have to say temerity is probably my favorite piece of gear at lvl 74. I can proc my barrier with a potion if needed, sustain with the rogue lifesteal, and run the increase dmg with a barrier.
I believe the "increase damage while you have a barrier" stat is a bit of a bait, since it just gets added to a massive pile "+ damage%" effects. The other effects you can get with barrier (lucky hit chance and resource gen) are good though!
Great video, i just learned something new. I was focusing on putting points into life in the paragon boards. I can take take those away and put that towards something else. Im also guilty of putting damage on my chest armor and really thinking about it its really useless. Thanks 🙏🏼
Great video! If I wanna push high-tier nightmare dungeons, is total armor% better or damage reduction% better? I have two chest pieces, one with 10% damage reduction, and the other with 10% total armor. As I understand, the damage reduction each armor point provides decreases as the lvl gap between me and the mobs increases right? So at 90+ tiers where mobs are 44+ lvls higher than me, damage reduction could be better?
Temerity is still recommended by most for Tornado druid. I was quite upset about the 2 uniques in that build, because they rob me of my defensive items. I understand it's used there to protect the fortify, but I wonder if it's really needed, more defence with the same amount of healing should be better, already have a few leg pieces for exactly this occasion. Generally I think a lot of the maxroll guides go way too hard on offence for no reason. To use Tornado Druid as an example again: no life on rings, werewolf skill dmg on chest, Stormskill dmg + offensive passives on amulet and no defensive rolls on totem (we can get dmg red.% while fort + ene. poisoned). I have been thinking exactly along what you are saying in your video, but I have to admit that the maxroll guide has shaken my confidence to commit to these defensive stats. Great video.
The creator of the maxroll guide on druids also swaps to defensive gear on higher nm dungeons so no need to follow his gearing guide at all times as its more of a general guide. You have to adjust to the situation so once doing nm dungeons 60 and higher i suggest going full on defensive stats and hp wherever you can get it. He also recommends temerity in his guide but swaps to disobedience with DR stats for pants on the higher dungeons.
Oke verry good thanks . For your efort i sub . And now what else you have on wapons etc for balancing damage whit defence can you make a video about what to check on a wapon 😊
Remove non-phys DR from Armor, make resists stack additively, and reduce the value of resist affixes on gear or apply a resist penalty in higher difficulties.
Absolute legend ! Thank you so much ! I had a quick question, im running your old trap build rouge and now that I know what to look for with gear what rolls do you recommend I look for bow and swords/daggers ?
Super helpful video. Would love to learn a bit more about why Wudijo warns against most damage increasing stats (besides crit, vuln). Here I’ve been loading up on things like “damage to poisoned enemies” and “cold damage” because I run poison and cold abilities. But sounds like those are mostly a trap?
I'm not yet max level (mid 60s), but temerity seems really good on a necro since you have so much healing. You can use a scythe for life on kill, and you can generate lots of bood orbs from corpse tendrils. The barrier in my experience has really high uptime

Remove non-phys DR from Armor, make resists stack additively, and reduce the value of resist affixes on gear or apply a resist penalty in higher difficulties.
Extremely helpful for noobs like myself. Thank you!
I have a helm with that on a sorc. I have survived hits in dungeons 7 levels higher than me. It's quite effective.
Nice Video Goat❤, can u explain in a Video how dmg scale, like u explained how Amor and ressist work?
Absolute legend ! Thank you so much ! I had a quick question, im running your old trap build rouge and now that I know what to look for with gear what rolls do you recommend I look for bow and swords/daggers ?
Great video thanks mate
Super helpful video. Would love to learn a bit more about why Wudijo warns against most damage increasing stats (besides crit, vuln).
Here I’ve been loading up on things like “damage to poisoned enemies” and “cold damage” because I run poison and cold abilities. But sounds like those are mostly a trap?
Very nice overview 👍 How do you rate dodge? I find that it's hard to get a lot of it but it does become more effective the more you can have.
Dodge has diminishing returns. Each % legit does less the more you have not more.
Would be great if you could make a video on what rerolls you can get on gear and for what classes
I'm not yet max level (mid 60s), but temerity seems really good on a necro since you have so much healing. You can use a scythe for life on kill, and you can generate lots of bood orbs from corpse tendrils. The barrier in my experience has really high uptime
As he said in harder content it’s irrelevant. The added barrier and healing doesn’t come close to the loss of damage reduction stats.
