I am a 63-year-old single woman and I was able to change the belt MYSELF with this video. You made it so easy and I am so proud of myself!!! I did give credit to your video in saying I didn't actually do it all by myself. Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving me the confidence to conquer things I never thought I could do!!!

The drive belt in my dryer of this exact model broke a week ago; this video was exactly what I needed to be able to fix it myself. I have an operational dryer again. Thank you!

Hi, I suspect that my dryer belt is the problem as well. What were the symptoms with your unit? When I turn the power button on it doesn't spin but the unit turns on for a second when I release the button it turns off.

This video was all I needed to help me get my mom's dryer working again. Thank you for your time in making this video and your generosity in sharing your expertise. They wanted to charge her $380 to fix it. I bought the belt for $12 on amazon and saved $368! Hats off to you!!

Thanks for the video, extremely helpful. Two things I ran into though -- removing the front panel required a lot more pulling and jostling than I thought, and as someone who's never worked with tensioning rods I wasn't sure exactly how that was supposed to be set up. But I got it done, and this helped save me a couple hundred dollars.

Great video thanks. Even though I had done one before, it's hard to remember every few years. As a heads up for ANYONE diagnosing your dryer not tumbling, always take apart and look at belt first. The belts suck and are so thin. I've replaced two in the 8 years I've had my dryer.

Big mahalo for this from the Big Island. Our dryer (appears to be the same. Model as your demo unit) made loud noise according to the wife who heard it. Fortunately ours is under warranty, but this is very helpful for when it falls off of warranty and inevitably requires me to replace the belt. So looking at the broken belt, it begs the question on why it’s so slim. Too bad there is not a way to put a more robust belt on one of these units.

Completely unnecessary to take the control panel off and the entire top off just to change the belt. All you gotta do is take the two front screws out from under the front lip (above the door) and lift up on the front of the top to get those two screws out then unplug the harness in the front panel and lean it out and lift it up and set it out the way.

Here's a hint if you cannot get the tension arm far enough to get the belt on the motor. I took some long cable ties and pulled the tension arm way down and tied it to the metal exhaust tube. I made sure the belt was around the motor pulley and that it was centered on the tension pully. I put a piece of long duct tape onto the cable tie so I could pull it out when I was done. I cut the cable tie with some snippers, arm popped into place. Pulled out cut piece of cable tie. Done! Working dryer. I have a little different model and really didn't have room to get both arms in there.

Great viedo i was going to say screw it and just buy a new dryer cause evertime i have an appliance guy out im usually getting charged for 3 visits if they even fix the problem. So thanks to guys like you we can help keep hard earned $ in our pockets. Do you have a cash app? 💸

I'm happy that you found the video helpful.
No I don't have a cash app nor a patreon account but I have been thinking about setting something up like that. Any suggestions?
      Mahalo for the great feedback.

Thank you for this helpful video! Able to fix the dryer myself, although I purchased an 88 inch belt and really need an 89 inch. No worries as that will be delivered tomorrow. However I was sliding the dryer back so it would be back in its usual spot as I wait on the belt to be delivered. The red wire popped out when the cover moved accidentally. I see where the red wire goes and put it back in the spot. Will this cause any issues, as I know you mentioned not to cause any of the wires stress (spot 1:50 in the video)? Thank you!

      Aloha Victoria,
Thank you for the kind words and I'm glad you found the video helpful.
As long as you put the wire back in the same spot it came from and did not damage anything it should be ok.
      Mahalo,
      Mike.

Another video from a parts seller had me disconnecting all the wires on the panel as well as disconnecting the door wires. It looks like you left the wires attached and control panel hanging off the back? I can't really tell from the video. Your method seems much easier.

    • @maverickmikekauai3515
      @maverickmikekauai3515  ปีที่แล้ว

Yes, I left the wires on the control panel.
I would avoid removing the wires unless it is necessary. If the wires must be removed then mark or label before removing so that they get reinstalled in the correct position.
      Mahalo,
      Mike
