I am a 63-year-old single woman and I was able to change the belt MYSELF with this video. You made it so easy and I am so proud of myself!!! I did give credit to your video in saying I didn't actually do it all by myself. Thank you, thank you, thank you for giving me the confidence to conquer things I never thought I could do!!!
The drive belt in my dryer of this exact model broke a week ago; this video was exactly what I needed to be able to fix it myself. I have an operational dryer again. Thank you!
Hi, I suspect that my dryer belt is the problem as well. What were the symptoms with your unit? When I turn the power button on it doesn't spin but the unit turns on for a second when I release the button it turns off.
Dryer belt installed with a little patience and followed your video frame by frame.. not a single unnecessary step to replace belt.. saved myself a small fortune with a $10 new belt and following your tutorial.. thanks!
This video was all I needed to help me get my mom's dryer working again. Thank you for your time in making this video and your generosity in sharing your expertise. They wanted to charge her $380 to fix it. I bought the belt for $12 on amazon and saved $368! Hats off to you!!
I've got a GTD42GASJ2WW GE dryer that I was able to follow these instructions to repair my dryer belt. Thanks for the very direct to the point and easy to follow video!!
Thank you SO much! My fam has a big vacation in a week and our dryer died over the weekend. Thanks to you, I was able to fix it in a day! Now we can proceed with packing!
Thank you!!!! For showing exactly how to get the dryer apart and back together, not assuming we knew which screws, bolts, and such to take off. Thank you!!!!
Thanks for the video, extremely helpful. Two things I ran into though -- removing the front panel required a lot more pulling and jostling than I thought, and as someone who's never worked with tensioning rods I wasn't sure exactly how that was supposed to be set up. But I got it done, and this helped save me a couple hundred dollars.
Mr. Maverick Mike Kauai… thank you so very much for posting this video. I had to watch it a few( several) times but your instructions were perfect! You saved me a lot of money. The replacement belt was only 16 dollars. Once again, thank you from me and my family!! We have a working dryer!!
Thank you so much for this video. Very informative and to the point. As an automotive tech I wish all repair manuals were as direct as these instructions. It also gave me insight as to annual preventative maintenance for lint removal. Thanks again and please continue the good work.

Thanks. I have the same dryer and was able to replace the belt thanks to you. The video doesn’t mention it but there are two screws in the top of the dryer door that have to be taken out before the top panel can come off.
Thank you for the extremely helpful video! We have the exact same model and our belt also broke. This saved us from spending so much money on a new dryer! Sending you lots of positivity from the east coast!
Thank you for the excellent detail. Just saved me a good deal of money in a time where I don't have all that much. Whole job took 8 to 10 minutes once I had the replacement belt and I am not known as a handy person.
Great video thanks. Even though I had done one before, it's hard to remember every few years. As a heads up for ANYONE diagnosing your dryer not tumbling, always take apart and look at belt first. The belts suck and are so thin. I've replaced two in the 8 years I've had my dryer.
Mahalo, Mike. Excellent video for the model, that I also have here. Your video helped. Sure can relate to the extra sand that accumulates inside the dryer housing. Aloha from Maui.

Cheers 🍻

Very easy to follow step-by-step instructions, left nothing to guess. Saved us about a 100 buck repair from a technician. Thanks so much for this video! Happy New Year!
