  • The first part of my journey along the MOGOLLON RIM TRAIL sees me leave Cottonwood in Arizona and backpacking all the way to Alma in New Mexico. My first stop is at the amazing Sedona where I spend 3 nights.

Brilliant! I’ve been looking to do the GR10/GR11 for some time, the route looks amazing, good luck on your retirement.

Good to see you back in Arizona. A trick for the cactus needles is get some Elmer's School Glue. Spread on a bit of gauze and place over the needle. Let it dry, then pull it off, the cactus should come out with it.
    Happy trails Cobber!!!

Appreciate the advice, Peter. I managed to dig it out with my safety pin, those things take some removing!!

Excellent stuff again, Alan. I find your films very inspiring and have taken a few ideas to plan my own trips for when I take early retirement at the end of this year.
By the way, have you upgraded your camera, the quality seems better somehow.

Thank you for the kind words. I took early retirement just over two yrs ago and can honestly say it’s a whole new experience. The amount of time you have to do things you’ve always wanted to do makes things easy. Well spotted, I’m filming with a DJI Pocket 3 in 4k but my next two videos will probably be in 2k as the WiFi out here is extremely slow.

Weather was great. Highs in the 60s, lows 30's. I finished a few days before Snowbowl got that 30"

Hi, Sam. The toe is fine, I’m a lot further up trail than my vids are showing due to a lack of Wi-Fi in the small towns. Thanks for commenting 👍
