I know this is a 2 year old video but the information never goes out of style. Just did my 05 deluxe. Put in 3 1/2 qts and it was 1/2 a quart overfilled. Turkey basters are handy for removing oil.

Can I use the same amsoil that I use for motor oil for transmission oil.
    ?

Some people do but I prefer a heavier gear oil. 75-90

    • @-MrRichBiker1967
      @-MrRichBiker1967 ปีที่แล้ว

I use a cut bleach bottle to avoid oil spilling from the oil filter

I appreciate the video. I inherited my father's 2005 Fatboy with a 95 custom, so this was a helpful video. Thank you!

    Ride on!

I think about half a quart gets trapped unless you disconnect some hoses. I had a Harley mechanic put in 3.5 quarts and it was definitely too much.

Well F me, no wonder no oil came out when I drained it, I went for the allen head plug under the motor. Just got one of these. Thank you TH-cam. 😂 🤦🏽‍♂️

Good job brother I have the same exact bike in silver, I have two into one Vance & Hines, I also installed a new fueling camplate and HF oil pump, and Andrew's 37g cams , gear drive.
The things an animal with 95 in.
I like to keep the oil in between the fill and full hot!
And I use Quicksilver 20w-50. Look it up it's phenomenal oil even better than amsoil
