Everyone should watch this masterpiece. every bit of this drama is gold. epic performances from all the actors. i mean all. ive seen countless series but this is my top pick. it’s crazy good.
yes I did just when it was aired. i watched it because of jin goo but ended up loving it so much. the way they play the viewers emotions, the plot, the acting and everything got me hooked up. this is one of the few dramas that i never skipped watching. plus lee do hyun for cameo is also another bonus

@@whatsmyname4051 it’s not for everyone, it is a slow burn psychological thriller that keeps the focus on it’s characters, not a crazy search for a serial killer which I think some people expect when they start. The drama explores those who are left behind and affected by missing cases, the motivations that cause people to blur the lines of right and wrong and what pushes people to become “monsters” (the Korean title of the drama). If you watch it with a keen mind focused not on the action, but on what the characters say, the camera cues, your mind will spin! I missed one line and didn’t understand the plot and had to rewind, that’s how tight the script is. It respects it’s audience by allowing them to piece together the story and doesn’t repeat and lay itself out like most dramas. It’s full of parallels, foreshadowing and metaphors and beautifully acted, Shin Ha Kyun did a killer job and deserved that Best Actor Baeksang! Sorry for the long winded review, anyway it’s not a drama for everyone (and that’s okay!) but it’s a critically acclaimed drama for a reason. If you go in with the right expectations of the kind of show it is, it will deliver.

And, for kdrama it self, I've watch kdrama since i was 14/15, now i'm 24. And this genre is my favorite. But still, it's not that great tho. Have you watched Flower of Evil? i think this drama is a lot better than beyond evil. If you don't, i suggest you to watch that drama. You'll see the different.

It doesn’t utilize sensationalized activity or savagery to attract the viewers. Indeed they are attempting to sort out who the killer is, yet that is just a little piece of the story. The drama is more about individuals outside of the killer and casualty, like how are they living with this trauma, how everybody is included regardless of whether they didn’t kill somebody directly, and how are they identified with one another. Another thing is Beyond Evil is a perfect representation of no plot openings. For example, in the event that you feel befuddled, you need to figure out the real story to sort it out or the writer doesn’t want you to know the appropriate response yet. The music and audio effects are thrilling. It will give you goosebumps. It’s not even about the good song choices, but how and why they embed it into scenes. Flower of Evil is also an amazing drama because of its intense ending which is a real sense left everybody at the edge of their seats. The tension, the rush, the astonishments, name it, however, it felt somewhat thought up multiple times and they made a decent attempt to keep the drama going and have bends only for having turns.

A masterpiece. Shin Hakyun delivers arguably the greatest performance I have ever seen in a Kdrama. Y'all please watch this, the incredible performances, the direction, the music- every single thing about this drama is exceptional. It's not a regular thriller based on crime solving. It's a psychological thriller in its truest form, it explores the psyche of survivors and the aftermath of tragedy instead of focusing solely on the crime. Crime-solving is the facade, the consequence of crime on human life is the central theme of this drama.

those who've watched the show know how solid both of the male lead's chemistry is. I seriously had goose bumps everytime both of them were interacting, each and every scene was intense and oozing with tension between the both lol.
This drama is honestly one of the best crime dramas I've ever watched, hands down. The chemistry between the main leads is incredible, the cast's acting is on point, the cinematography is top tier, and each episode keeps you on the edge of your seat until the end of it. 100% would recommend!!! side note: the OST, including the ambient sounds, is AMAZING! I definitely would recommend you listening to BIBI's song , it'll give you chills when you hear it during an intense scene in the drama.

I've watched a lot of series in this genre but none could ever be this good. The way the serial killer is built, his motives, his profile was on point. They know the truth about inadmissible evidences and why it's very hard to convict someone. The series have the relatability but it did not take away from the suspense. Nobody has plot armour, every character has individuality and purpose in the story. This is how you make a good thriller/murder/mystery. This is a masterpiece.

Intense but perfectly executed story. Every episode is worth watching. Yeo Jin Goo is at par with his senior actors. Can"t wait to see him do more matured roles in the future. Kudos to all the cast!

Vincenzo was great its still my top favorite, both of the dramas are phenomenally good, but beyond evil definitely wins. If you haven’t watched vincenzo, then you should, it’s still a good show after all.

There were so many masterpieces and unique shows going on like Taxi Driver, Mouse, Beyond Evil and LUCA which noone paid attention to just cuz Vincenczo had Song Joongki. Vincenczo's first 3 episodes were extremely boring, it's genre was dark comedy but it was actually a comedy throughout, so basically failed to execute it's genre, the finale was written very haphazardly and the character of Vincenczo became inconsistent. Hong Cha Young's character has to be the most exaggerated and annoying female character I've ever seen. Taecyeon's acting and Han Seo's character were the best parts of the show
This drama is incredible! The trailer doesn't give away even half of its brilliance! I didn't expect to love it half as much as I did, but it managed to surprise and impress me in so many ways. Very gripping and well-thought-out plot! The acting of the two leads was phenomenal, their dynamic was fascinating to watch. And whoever was in charge of the OST deserves an award because the music in this drama was amazing!

To those wondering if this is worth it, YES THIS IS DEF WORTH THE WATCH - there's so many twists and i love every bit of the drama from the storyline itself to the complex characters themselves and i think it also won several Baeksangs : Best Script, Best Drama and Best Leading Actor (Shin Hakyun)
Please don't overlook this drama. It's one of the best dramas I've ever watched in my life ❤️❤️. Every single actor from main to side characters have done a commendable job. This is worth the watch and every rewatch. I am even willing to beg for season 2 with same cast

It has the highest viewership ratings out of all the ongoing dramas soaring as high as 16.something. Mostly domestic watchers were focused on Penthouse but both domestic and international ones were all literally everyone was watching Vincenczo
Shin Ha Kyun's acting is really something in this drama.The way he smile and laugh even though there's really nothing worth to laugh at gives off a creep hell out of me.I couldn't even helped to think that he is a kind of Psychopath in this drama.

This is one brilliant show with some great acting and a chilling script. Very unpredictable and distinct in its execution. It deserved the awards it took home. Will be rewatching.
Remember when Kang Haneul won the Best Actor Award because of his role in When the Camellia Blooms? Most people who did not see the series where in shock. They even said that he did not deserve it. Then they started watching the series. I saw most of the comments apologizing that they did question his win before but understood after watching the drama. Same with the winner in Beyond Evil. So I hope people recognize one's talent and portrayal after watching the series first.

I just finished it. It was like I read a classic novel and upon closing it, I was still at awe by how everything was plotted. There were no plot holes. Everything was perfect!
Back 7 months later after stopping at episode 6 and watching many other dramas. I recently watched Mouse and I thought about this series that I had on the back burner. I was frustrated because every time I thought that I guessed who the killer was they’d always bring in another person that may be the killer. I am still leaning towards her brother. I am laughing at my Lee Min Ho comment below. I believe the construction guy played in Squid Games.

I've already watched it but now that's it's on Netflix, I'm going to watch it again with my sister! I've been advertising it to her ever since it aired in Korea but she wasn't really enthusiastic about it. But now that she's seen how much people liked it, she's willing to watch it even though she's scared of thrillers/mystery/dark productions haha This show his sincerely underrated, I hope being on Netflix will make it known and appreciated on an international scale
I have watched each episodes more than twice. The second time is to understand the story, the third is because I still couldnt understand it, the fourth time is because I am obsessed with the acting, cinematography and the plot. I wish I could forget the whole story, and watch this drama like the first time I watched it, to feel the suspense and the thrill once again. I am not easy to be convinced to watch a drama, even if it wins an award. I am glad I gave this drama a chance.

I like k-thriller, it's always end up with plot twist.

@@ghostie3131 I have watched Vincenczo that's why I said what I said. It was the most overrated drama after True Beauty. There were so many masterpieces and unique shows going on like Taxi Driver, Mouse, Beyond Evil and LUCA which noone paid attention to just cuz Vincenczo had Song Joongki. Vincenczo's first 3 episodes were extremely boring, it's genre was dark comedy but it was actually a comedy throughout, so basically failed to execute it's genre, the finale was written very haphazardly and the character of Vincenczo became inconsistent. Hong Cha Young's character has to be the most exaggerated and annoying female character I've ever seen. Taecyeon's acting and Han Seo's character were the best parts of the show
This drama is incredible! The trailer doesn't give away even half of its brilliance! I didn't expect to love it half as much as I did, but it managed to surprise and impress me in so many ways. Very gripping and well-thought-out plot! The acting of the two leads was phenomenal, their dynamic was fascinating to watch. And whoever was in charge of the OST deserves an award because the music in this drama was amazing!
So happy to finally see this drama on Netflix. Glad to see that it's uncensored unlike the official broadcast. Can't wait to rewatch this masterpiece again❤🥰

To those wondering if this is worth it, YES THIS IS DEF WORTH THE WATCH - there's so many twists and i love every bit of the drama from the storyline itself to the complex characters themselves and i think it also won several Baeksangs : Best Script, Best Drama and Best Leading Actor (Shin Hakyun)
Yeo Jin Goo is definately more suited to this kind of genre vs romantic ones 😆 Not saying he was bad in Hotel Del Luna but this seems to fit him more.

It has the highest viewership ratings out of all the ongoing dramas soaring as high as 16.something. Mostly domestic watchers were focused on Penthouse but both domestic and international ones were all literally everyone was watching Vincenczo
Shin Ha Kyun's acting is really something in this drama.The way he smile and laugh even though there's really nothing worth to laugh at gives off a creep hell out of me.I couldn't even helped to think that he is a kind of Psychopath in this drama.
I haven't watched any k thrillers but this looks like a good one to start with.

This is one brilliant show with some great acting and a chilling script. Very unpredictable and distinct in its execution. It deserved the awards it took home. Will be rewatching.
Remember when Kang Haneul won the Best Actor Award because of his role in When the Camellia Blooms? Most people who did not see the series where in shock. They even said that he did not deserve it. Then they started watching the series. I saw most of the comments apologizing that they did question his win before but understood after watching the drama. Same with the winner in Beyond Evil. So I hope people recognize one's talent and portrayal after watching the series first.

Best TV drama of 2021! Excellent screenplay, acting, characterisation. I didn't binge watch this like most series and that increased the excitement and curiosity for the next episode. I am a sucker for crime thrillers and this one tops the list! Congratulations team!!

I just finished it. It was like I read a classic novel and upon closing it, I was still at awe by how everything was plotted. There were no plot holes. Everything was perfect!

Back 7 months later after stopping at episode 6 and watching many other dramas. I recently watched Mouse and I thought about this series that I had on the back burner. I was frustrated because every time I thought that I guessed who the killer was they’d always bring in another person that may be the killer. I am still leaning towards her brother. I am laughing at my Lee Min Ho comment below. I believe the construction guy played in Squid Games.

One of the best dramas I've ever watched. To all the ppl who watched this trailer and are dicey about it, don't be. This drama is so worth it. Amazing plot, cast, cinematography, feels; it's all there. Pretty sure you won't be disappointed while/after watching it. This drama didn't sweep 3 major categories in Baeksang awards for nothing! 100% recommended.

I've already watched it but now that's it's on Netflix, I'm going to watch it again with my sister! I've been advertising it to her ever since it aired in Korea but she wasn't really enthusiastic about it. But now that she's seen how much people liked it, she's willing to watch it even though she's scared of thrillers/mystery/dark productions haha

I have watched each episodes more than twice. The second time is to understand the story, the third is because I still couldnt understand it, the fourth time is because I am obsessed with the acting, cinematography and the plot. I wish I could forget the whole story, and watch this drama like the first time I watched it, to feel the suspense and the thrill once again. I am not easy to be convinced to watch a drama, even if it wins an award. I am glad I gave this drama a chance.

Yeo Jin Goo's character is BEYOND FRUSTRATING (I'm still on early episodes now) hahahahaha I mean it as a compliment - his acting is very convincing. Not to mention Shin Ha Hyun's top-notch acting that really brings out the dimensions of a complex character.
