MIUT - Running 115KM across Madeira

In April of 2024, I ran the 115KM Madeira Island Ultra Trail (MIUT). MIUT115 is a point-to-point race traversing across the island from west to east.
This was the most beautiful and unique race I'd done so far, with highly varying terrain and micro climates. During the race you get to experience everything from rocky coastlines, to
tropical forests and sub alpine environments.
The weather was particularly challenging with many runners dropping due to the cold temperatures and rain. As a result, some of the most stunning views were obscured by fog. Despite this it was still a beautiful course and one I'd gladly to do again.

Insane! We hiked (not even all of) the trail and the whole time I was just in awe that people ran it. Especially in those conditions before you’ve even seen the light of day. Congratulations on that what an experience it must have been.

Thanks! Even if the conditions weren’t optimal the trails were still amazing. Definitely want to go back and hike/run them again.
