- Watch this video to see what it's like to travel on Africa's Bullet Train "AL BORAQ" from Tangier to Casablanca. We'll be travelling in First Class and reaching speeds of OVER 300km/h.
On the African continent, there are around 60,000 kilometres of operational railways. However, for decades, there was one type of railway that was absent from Africa. A High Speed Rail Line. But just 5 years ago... that all changed.
In November 2018, Morocco officically launched Africa's first high-speed train. The new service was named Al Boraq, after the flying horse of Islamic mythology. Taking 7 YEARS to build and at a cost OVER £1 BILLION.
French-built TGV trains now connect the northern port of Tangier with the capital, Rabat, and the main commercial hub, Casablanca. I took one in First Class and covered my entire experience. Enjoy the video!

Well done Morocoo ❤
Love from India
W morocco. love from India. keep developing.
Morocco has the best railway in the continent, really nice.
They'd put Britain's railways to SHAME!
@@Jack_Rice 😊
Might be. But there are other things that makes the UK great.
Greeting from 🇲🇦 (Berkane)
Well done, Morocco, greetings from Italy
Ciao 👋
CONGRATULATION MORROCO 🇺🇸🇺🇸👑🇲🇦🇲🇦🌹👍🏻
Wow Africa has better train than America , thx for sharing with us this video
@@AhmedN.-ky8ii what the fuck are you talking about ? Morocco is a north african country and is a part of Africa
@@AhmedN.-ky8ii I don't think a true Moroccan would say such rubbish speech. We are african and we are proud of being so
@@AhmedN.-ky8ii it's an arab speaking amazigh country and we are a part of Africa !
@@zaid2508 at least talk respectfully in morocco we dont talk to outsiders like that have some manners
@@widadcassel122 I don't need anyone to teach me how to Talk (especially not some troll on TH-cam) to moroccans or to foreigners and I don't treat them differently anyways.
So please go take your educational charity somewhere else.
Moreover, the person I was talking to deleted their comment so you don't even know what my response is even about and you're still acting clever and wise about things you don't understand
I highly advise you to visit Morocco. It is one of the most beautiful countries. We have many cultures, historical furniture, and many tourist facilities. Welcome to Morocco.❤🇲🇦
Thank you. Morocco was a very interesting and slightly eccentric place to visit.
Yes, everything is excellent there. Welcome to Morocco
I LOVE YOU MOROCCO
Greetings my friend! 😀Super nice Video 👍👍👍
LOVE from Saudi
HSR is soon going to be inaugurated in India as well..They are working at unprecedented rate. Great to see Morocco has one.❤
What a well done video. Jack, you are amazing!
Thank You So Much Kelly. That means alot.
Merci Morocco.
5:08 you seem to imply that the sets are second hand ones that used to run in Europe? That's false. The trains are new, built for ONCF. Not that o have anything against refurbished trains, a good deal is a good deal, BUT since we paid full price for these it's rather insulting to assume.
I genuinely didn't know that. The train didn't feel like it was just over 5 years old.
@@Jack_Rice Morocco has spent billions on this tgv, do you think they'll buy second-hand trains?
@@Jack_Rice Also Al Boraq has modifications that were made according to the Moroccan climatic and environmental conditions. And its configuration slightly differs from that of its European counterpart (2 first-class carriages, 5 second class carriages, and a catering coach, instead of the French configuration of 3 first class coaches, 4 second-class coaches, and a catering coach).
I should also add, for luggage, you have a special storage area to house big suitcases.
Wow whoosh whoosh yes👍
really impressive...
No impressive it’s just a classic french tgv
Thanks for visit my country, you are welcome forever 🤪
Thank you very much. I had a brilliant time.
Thanks, that was interesting to see) Morocco has really strong railroad net even by european level.
Great trip. My favourite train to be honest, no matter it's running in Europe or Africa.
It's definitely one of my favourites too.
India is waiting
Enjoy your stay in Morocco.
Now Indonesia, Morocco, Türkiye and Uzbekistan has a HSR.
I feel like every country in the world should have one.
Молодцы французы, что сделали из Морокко железнодорожного лидера Африки, на что я обратил внимание ещë несеолько лет назад, а сегодня просто ещё раз убедился в этом!.. 😮
Спасибо
Hi Jack R. Just for the record 😊
12:08
This is Africa's 2nd tallest building.
1) Iconic Tower 400 metres (1,300 ft), Egypt
2) Mohammed VI Tower 250 m (820 ft) Morocco
3) The Leonardo 234 m (768 ft) South Africa
4) Carlton Centre 223 m (732 ft) South Africa
Wikipedia needs changing, then.
I wonder if they will ever expand service to other industrialized countries in Africa like Kenya or, Ghana even Nigeria
I hope so!
R u doing solo travel? U must be uni student, All the best!
No, I'm neither a solo traveller or a Uni Student. Thanks
Solo hay café, una pena.
Nooo 😆
il y a le taquilla partout
African state looks like France TGV train
That's because it is. Lol
You like the train? It's French
@Jack Rice, why are u playing arabian songs in the intro of a african nation. I know its muslim majority but, LOL😂😂
It may be on the African continent. But culturally, many Moroccans see themselves more as Arabs than Africans. And it certainly looks and feels more like an Arabic country when you are there.
Far better than indian railways .
why the fuck you need to compare. if you want to compare education, Space missions, and military
@@nikhilniks1194 because Indian Railways sucks. Stinky wash rooms, disgusting food, uncivilized co passengers, always late . Do you want more explanation?
@@SourabhSaha-ce6yu Have u ever been on vande bharat? or u pay less and expect good treatment XD
@@parshuram11023 I've travelled in Vande bharat, Rajdhani, Gatiman, Shatabdi.
Government tried to make them better but the food was worse as other trains . Bathrooms were fancy but stinky.
@@nikhilniks1194 you Indians should accept the reality. Make good railway system then come to argue.
Does they have money to pay for tickets 😅😂
Obviously, they do. Otherwise, it would be there.
What a stupid question
A very stupid question from a very stupid person
Nice train but bad people 😢
Well Not All People!
@@Jack_Rice yes , but almost !!!
