Just watched all your videos on this car, and it's great to see one of these brought back. It's good that someone appreciates them for what they are. I always thought they looked kinda ugly, but they grow on you somehow. They're still not all that rare up in northern Sweden, I think we have 2-3 rolling around here in our small town
Hoping to eventually learn your trade. My 2003 F350 is starting to bubble around the wheel wells, would be nice to learn how to fix it myself without having to go to a shop and pay $3000. These New Hampshire winters are tough :(
Having spent Many years Welding Rusty Vans/ Cars id say these are respectable welds once dressed up and sealed ,Good job thanks for sharing liked and subd
love the rustoring... using that one myself mate! im in the uk on my 4th saab over 15yrs. currently i have a 2007 9-3 vector sport wagon in black and the wife has a 2000 9-3 convertible...in black of course! i shared 1 of your sonnet vids on Saab Owners UK Facebook and they loved it. Beautiful car, I hope you don't mind but I'm going to share this vid too.
good job man I'm glad to see you're putting the car back to running condition I wish I had the means to do work like that I have a 94 Chevy conversion van and my rocker panels are starting to run completely out the metal underneath this good and the metal on top of good the right between there it's rotting out I need to cut that out and weld in new panels and I don't know how to or have the means to so you're a lucky guy
renzoku163 I've just completed the welding on my very rusty 63 bug .Bottom 6" replaced with new metal all the way round in my single garage . Buy a mig welder and have a go , you'll get better with practice , one panel at a time, that's how I did it and saved my self a ton of money 💰 Good luck with your van 👍🏻
Hi, great project and your doing really well, love the Saab, I am resorting a rover p6 2000sc 1968, I can share your comment about how difficult it is to weld new to old, I have had the problems Doesn’t need to look beautiful though so long as it a strong weld, keep up the great videos, better Than the crap TV channels we to endure.👍🏻 Tony UK.
Always nice to see your videos as you say keep it out of the cabbage ;) I just blew the heatermatrix on my car and while i am waiting for parts i took the chance to sandblast all rust in wheelarches and so on, but Amsie the phosphoric acid your using how many percent is it? Here in sweden it is stupidly hard to get a hold of it but i got 1L 85% heading my way for $13 thinking of maybe duluting it a bit and use rubber gloves and brush it on the spots :) Keep up the great work i love your content!
siemenstraffic okay, kind of like the newer style ones that go on the outside of vehicles nowadays that are plastic, normally block or you can get them in crome
I'm not a Saab guy, buy I'm thoroughly enjoying the videos. Learning things. Best of luck with the 96.
looking good. can't wait to see this one in person.
I live in Ohio...I would LOVE to get my '99 9-3 hatchback over there to you guys for a once-over!! I also really enjoy your videos!

The boss should look into some covered parking with new lot. Possibly solar panels for the covered parking
GREAT JOB

She's looking good! I'd love to see it in person whenever it's finished. I'm sure you'll be at many car shows!
Getting it solid is a good priority. Lots cooking ahead in the shop.

I grew up with these cars. They are just so cool. I would love to get one, but I've heard that it's hard to get parts for them.
dont shame your welds bro, solid is solid. looks good overall, (like you said a grinder will make it look fine) keep up the good work
Good video update, cheers!
Thanks!
Cheers Amesie!

Good luck with your van 👍🏻
Love this car.
grinder and paint makes me the welder i ain't....... as long as it's solid it's fine, the main thing is that it's rock solid and safe.
LOOKING GOOD WINTER IS COMING
I would love to own one, the older "bullnose" model. Like the unique body shape derived from Saabs aero heritage.
do you spray oil into the parts you have welded...that's what muiste1 does.
awesome dude.

Always look forward to your videos. You should move down south. No rust and cheaper to live.
You must not have seen my back yard..
What do you think about the Saab turbo X?? And what do you think about the older rear weel driven Volvos?
2 subs left to 20k! :D
What's the deal with that curved plastic piece at the top left corner of the driver's door on the inside??
The yellowed curved plastic are called "wind deflectors". You can have the window cranked down a bit and keeping the rain and wind out from the car.
siemenstraffic okay, kind of like the newer style ones that go on the outside of vehicles nowadays that are plastic, normally block or you can get them in crome
Brings back a lot of memories If only I had my wire welder back then. I could just kick myself for letting any of my Saabs go, oh well such is life
Is your old 96 a two stroke?
It's a four stroke Ford V4. SAAB dropped the 2-stroke engine back in 1968. due to low sales.
piano player 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
