  • After Traveling a long distance from Tampa fl we arrive in Dublin early to the Fitzsimons hotel in the Temple Bar district. We drop off our luggage and go explore the city. We saw the St. Patricks Cathedral and some other points of interest like the Guinness brewery. Later we meet up with Carolines friends for her birthday. We go to the Famous James Joyce Irish Pub, Temple bar and a few other pubs. Check out our other videos from Europe in the Playlist: • The Algarve Coast - Ca...

A little while back I arrived in Dublin airport with two friends and we took a taxi to The Shelbourne Hotel (our place of residence for the next two days) The taxi driver said to us although The Temple district of Dublin is popular with Tourists I would keep away from it if I was you. We took his advice. As far as the driver (a native Dubliner) was concerned he was giving us good advice.

The best thing you can do is rent a car and drive across the island, making plans as you go. There is so much to see and people are so welcoming, you will have a great time. Some of the places I recommend are Kilkenny, the port town of Kinsale, Dingle, Cashel, Limerick, and any other place you want to stop where you will not find tourist groups.

Thanks, that is great advice. It is exactly what we did. Giants causeway, Dark Hedges, Belfast, Carrick a Rede rope Bridge, saw some old Castles. We Drove to Carrick on Shannon, stayed the night there. The next day we drove to a waterfall near there on the way to the Kylemore Abbey. After that we drove to Galway for a pint, and then to Shannon. Next time we go We'll make sure to check out the places you have suggested. Thanks for the Information, cheers.

Sing it brother would be over in the uk once or twice a year and the service is shocking and the pints are dreadful. The difference is in Ireland the pubs are privately owned as in the uk the brewery owns them. This makes everyone in the UK an employee where in Ireland the are generally family run business so there is a bit of pride involved.

I do enjoy getting into where the locals gather in any city or town I'm in. I think everywhere has a spot where the 'tourists' pay more, and they should, because we do when we visit wherever they're from...

The owner glared at us. never approached us or welcomed us. Eventually we just walked out. In a pub in Co. Limerick after driving from the Rosslare ferry I only had Sterling..the publican wouldn;t accept it. I even offered him a profitable rate. No! There was no ATM anywhere. Went into a manky pub in Limerick, wife, 3 kids and my dog a labrodor. I had just driven 100 miles. Just before I put my glass to my lips, the proprietor told me we had to leave. Why? I asked. No dogs allowed he said. I asked why, no dogs allowed. he said it was a hygiene rule. I looked around this hole of a place and replied: "The dog doesnt mind." That seemed to satusfy and he allowed us to stay. We found that the fisrt point of contact everywhere: pub, restaurant, hotel, etc etc the staff were all Eastern European. I thought: "Thank Christ for that." Dacent people all of them.More than I could say for the indiginous mob in many places.

Alot of anti Temple Bar guff on here... Yes its expensive but over the course of a night maybe a tenner more for a feed of pints.. That said its always busy .. you will find a party there any time of year... weeknights, less busy are especially good. Show me another European city that offers this???
