"The size of this interchange is unrealistic." Since you're taking inspiration from San Francisco, you're absolutely correct. But if you were taking inspiration from Los Angeles...
When you created every area of Montana I thought "this guy is a genius". Now you say the things you did didn't make any sense and rebuild everything and I, once again, think "this guy is a genius". That's the level of fanatism I am at.
I think, it would be great if you build a race track somewhere in mountains, with beautiful landscapes around. It would look like Red Bull Ring in Austria, a very cool looking track. I'm not sure if the game can actually run races, or attract people to such places, but anyway, it would look great, i'm sure.
The game can't (unless a new mod I'm unaware of has come out recently), but F1 assets exist and he can limit the traffic on track to F1 cars and make the speed limits on track realistic.
Light rail can make a loop. In Chicago this is one of the most well known features of the system downtown, called "the loop". Howver the network switches from underground to elevated at this point so it doesn't interfere with the roadways
If someone wanted to go as far "inland" as possible. Following a river would be a very good bet. Thankfully the river isn't gone when it reaches the sea.
Especially from American cities, absolutely. Many neighborhoods in inner cities are from the 1930s and 40s at the latest, while the interstate system was built in the 50s, and demolished many areas. Boston is a good example of a city that took back its land from the interstates.

I love this map! Seems pretty recourse heavy and I'm not sure how my computer would run it with all the mods I already run but you have made this mal even more cool!
For 60k subscribers hit us with an hour speedbuild episode 😍🥰 I swear every time your videos end I get sadder so it would be great!!! Also, the update looks amazing. I cant wait to see what you have planned for the port and the outside suburb. Still the most anticipated youtube channel in my subscriptions!! Thank you for being you
You could place a form of natural reserve/beach area on that peninsula for your peeps. I love seeing what you do with parks and I just don't see enough in Montana. Still love it :D
I agree with you on the interchange sizes and highway density in Montana before this episode it looked really good but it would not be suitable for a city with such less space and if you took inspiration from San Fransisco you are correct unless you were taking inspiration from cities like LA
Great episode and the change was an improvement. But now that you expanded the east part of Montana (by the coastline), you'll have to expand the west part of Montana running upstream along the river.
I think the suburbs should expand more on the other side of the river and maybe make another downtown on the other side of the river to make it into twin cities like Minneapolis and Saint Paul
Hey man! We were chatting on twitter a little bit before :) wanted to come and check out your content and give you some support! I never realized you had such a large following hahah
It is somewhat funny cuz I doing the same thing in the city I'm building, which is redo the road layout and rebuild some area I'm not totally satify with. I must admit that I like your style, your are not building a perfect city but you give love to imperfection in various cities. One thing I would do is the infrastructure around the bridge exit. Even if there is not a full blown interchange, there is often extra infrastructure around bridges like the benjamin Franklin Bridge in philadelphia or bridge Jacques-Cartier in Montréal. Maybe I care about thoses things cuz I want to included them in my own biuld. Anyway, I'm looking forward to your next video, cheers!
Dude please keep the interchange it looks good and makes the city special if you make it smaller it will not look as good, and to be honest it is realistic!
I was a bit skeptical at first, but love the additions! Looking forward to what the LRT system will morph into ^_^ What do you think you'll do regarding the beaches? I know in California we have laws on public access to beaches and they (beaches) seem to be quite cherished. The *only* negative I can think of is the new interchange seems "stock" rather than "organic", but that's just nitpicking :)
Make the national park look like Golden Gate Park!also add High voltage powerlines crossing the river....look at that double bridge on google earth next to the suger cane factory and it has powerlines crossing the river
Me: literally updates Montana education wiki to boast about how well the education in Montana is, especially at the university You: ( exactly one day later) yeah cause education here is terrible and no one uses the University Me: Am I a Joke to you?
I have question: I'm preparing to build my New PC and since i can't test cities skylines at this moment, i would ask all of you How many cores Cities skylines utilizes? I can't find actually info about that everything is from 2015 or 2016 which is pretty much old since game got XXXXXX patches...
I don't see that the size of the interchange, the clutteredness of the intersection at the freeway entrance or it going onto a relatively small bridge are necessarily unrealistic. It's relatively easy for a government to demolish a lot of houses or old factories to build big freeway interchanges-bulldozing was a pretty significant feature of the development of U.S. freeways if I have my history right. You could justify it by saying that the bridge was built way back in the very early 20th century, and the freeway came in later and had to connect to a smaller bridge. If anything, slightly inefficient infrastructural design increases the realism of a build. That's just my opinion. It's your project to do with as you please, obviously.
Are you getting rid of the trams? I thought the trams are great, but yeah you did them wrong, nothing you can't fix. Maybe a zoo and/or stadium would be a nice thing to put in.
Mr TwoDollarsTwenty: I have a question: If i get Cities Skylines on steam, is it only going to be the normal game without mods? Or how does this work, because I want to create similar maps the way you do.
Build an old area with late 1800 early 1900 looking buildings with an old port area it could be like where the city was originally founded but then it just spread out from there.
"The size of this interchange is unrealistic." Since you're taking inspiration from San Francisco, you're absolutely correct. But if you were taking inspiration from Los Angeles...

All remarks are spot on, I completely agree with your analysis. City building is an iterative process :)
the alterations were well justified and everything is looking great!!
You should put a island in the mouth of the river its pretty common.
I want a Coronado style Island in Montana, the city kinda looks like San Diego a bit
Dhjaru this is a great idea!
Right. Freaking. On. No mediocrity here! Make Montana Great Again #MMGA
This episode is one of the best in this series. The amount of information and references that u shared is awesome. Loved your style man 👌👌👌👌👌
15:18 this is sooo much better than the old interchange taking upp all that space! great work!
"We want less road and more buildings..." hey now, that doesn't sound very American!
I think, it would be great if you build a race track somewhere in mountains, with beautiful landscapes around. It would look like Red Bull Ring in Austria, a very cool looking track. probably need a light house near the entrance of the river
Light rail can make a loop. In Chicago this is one of the most well known features of the system downtown, called "the loop". Howver the network switches from underground to elevated at this point so it doesn't interfere with the roadways
4:30 rivers don't go inland! ALL rivers go from their source towards a sea or lake!
What I meant is large rivers usually have a natural sea break around the opening to the ocean.
If someone wanted to go as far "inland" as possible. Following a river would be a very good bet. Thankfully the river isn't gone when it reaches the sea.
Actually some tidally locked Rivers do flow inward from the sea during certain times
Finally, I am so excited for this!!! And I love the changes you made, I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this series!
I think a historical district is needed
Especially from American cities, absolutely. Many neighborhoods in inner cities are from the 1930s and 40s at the latest, while the interstate system was built in the 50s, and demolished many areas. Boston is a good example of a city that took back its land from the interstates.

Do you have a shopping park somewhere in Montana?
Otherwise that would be a good addition to the new district
Old bridge was really owsome . Please add that bridge back on other side . Because on that bridge look of city was owsome
It's great to see so much get done. Sick episode. Keep it up
In mountain ranges like this there are normally a lot of fruit farms in the valleys between mountains. There are also a lot of winery’s as well.

For what u we’re talking about early in in the video. San Diego is a great city that this map remind me of
yeah, somewhat looks like it, thats why Id love to see a small Coronado type island in the mouth of the river, or perhaps on the side of the river
I agree with you on the interchange sizes and highway density in Montana before this episode it looked really good but it would not be suitable for a city with such less space and if you took inspiration from San Fransisco you are correct unless you were taking inspiration from cities like LA
If you’re going to make a lower socioeconomic neighbourhood, it makes even more sense to put put in that Trade School over near the industrial area.
Great episode and the change was an improvement.
But now that you expanded the east part of Montana (by the coastline), you'll have to expand the west part of Montana running upstream along the river.
It is acutally the west side of the city he expanded not the east because west is the ocean
and east mountains.
@Skatemetrix
Love this way better than the other one
You put so much natural resources to change the ground colour, you should check it :D
good considerations made in montana
I think the suburbs should expand more on the other side of the river and maybe make another downtown on the other side of the river to make it into twin cities like Minneapolis and Saint Paul
Montana deserves a concert hall 💯
Check out Lihue Kauai. It has a similar layout to Montana. The harbor is at the mouth of a river bordered on one side by a tall hill.
That seattle type street layout
Lisbon is that way, the river enters like that but the coast line isn’t as built as it is there and the city is more inwards
You should get the Real Time Mod! I have it and i love it! It would add more realism to your city. Great video btw
Hey man! We were chatting on twitter a little bit before :) wanted to come and check out your content and give you some support! I never realized you had such a large following hahah
Back to the old school way
It is somewhat funny cuz I doing the same thing in the city I'm building, which is redo the road layout and rebuild some area I'm not totally satify with. Good luck with your city makeover! Thanks 😁
Dude please keep the interchange it looks good and makes the city special if you make it smaller it will not look as good, and to be honest it is realistic!
He obliterated everything...added some huge ass Mountain to the area. Looks weird. At least there's Springwood.
You gonna build a major port yet? With a rail yard maybe?
Sure am
I was a bit skeptical at first, but love the additions! Looking forward to what the LRT system will morph into ^_^
What do you think you'll do regarding the beaches? I know in California we have laws on public access to beaches and they (beaches) seem to be quite cherished.

Thanks! I’m not sure about beaches atm. Got any advice? The interchange will get a makeover in a few eps time 🙂
Make the national park look like Golden Gate Park!also add High voltage powerlines crossing the river....look at that double bridge on google earth next to the suger cane factory and it has powerlines crossing the river
The highway network looks very similar to the one in Košice, Slovakia.
this need to be the next gta map (:
I recommend that you take a look at Palm'sTime MAYA video's. That port looks really impressive.
you should check the river mouth of Lisbon in Portugal...
You should do a big police and fire Academy, farmer market, college
Put in an arena, just like the icc in Sydney or quodas bank arena
Me: literally updates Montana education wiki to boast about how well the education in Montana is, especially at the university
You: ( exactly one day later) yeah cause education here is terrible and no one uses the University
Me: Am I a Joke to you?
Haha oh man I’m sorry! Hopefully now I’ve boosted it a bit to reflect the wiki!
Nice
Will you be updating the map file on the workshop to include the new terrain?
I will in the next savegame
@@twodollarstwenty Awesome!
How did you plop those growables? When I use Rico and try to plop growables they always despawn :(
What road editing tools/mods are you using? I always have trouble making my roads look right
The only editing I’m really doing to the roads is using Moveit and fine road tool. Che k my collections in the desc
See lisbon it has the same open from river to the ocean
I have question:
I'm preparing to build my New PC and since i can't test cities skylines at this moment, i would ask all of you

a national park on the mountains nerby new high way
Yes
Yes!
no
Perhaps!
light rail does do loops - en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tramlink

I think you miss some cul-de-sacs in your cities
Are you getting rid of the trams? I thought the trams are great, but yeah you did them wrong, nothing you can't fix.
Maybe a zoo and/or stadium would be a nice thing to put in.
They’ll return in a few episodes
You should search for estuaries.
You can build a stadium. Ahahaha
Add another slum or expand Chester Hill
Mr TwoDollarsTwenty: I have a question: If i get Cities Skylines on steam, is it only going to be the normal game without mods? Or how does this work, because I want to create similar maps the way you do.
What about a lighthouse on the peninsula
Two dollars twenty will you build a stadium in Montana?
Next week 🙂
are you reverting back to the new skyline you made? I don't really like it too much and many people agree
Nup I’m not this was just recorded back when I had the old skyline
oh okay, good lol
so you just didn't go over there to look at it in recent vids?
Put a town on another side of the bridge
Summary of the first 8 minutes, EVERYTHING IS WRONG MONTANA
What happened to parkitect?
Why upload in 4K?
Y wouldn’t I?
two dollars twenty You say you have 2x 1080p displays so why lose frames for 4K
11:25 thatsAPenis.meme
He basicly redid half of the city
Build a mall
Not the bay bridge dude that makes the city don’t ever take it out
It’s returning in a few eps just in a different spot
Why did you chose the name Montana, because there are no cities like this there?
I know this is small but it bugs me that this city has the same name as a state-and a massive, rural state at that
Love the series tho!
Build an old area with late 1800 early 1900 looking buildings with an old port area it could be like where the city was originally founded but then it just spread out from there.
dimitri do soviet russia comrade will be proud
