Is Metalgarurumon in the same boat as Wargreymon? Honestly, with some of the draw power and tools you have, you can hilariously deal with some decks that normally would be obnoxious. As a reminder and disclaimer, none of my deck profiles are PERFECT in any way shape or form. I only bring discussion points and elements for you to tinker with and use as a baseline. Though EX6 offers nothing, with Melga being another fan favorite, what can you do?

I've always been a fan of the Melga Deck. Your insight is definitely solid and will shape how I build mine (when I'm not playing Greymon or Imperialdramon 😂)

It's good to see the OG Wolf has still support and the old BT9 OTK version can get some upgrades.
A Delicate Plan is one of my fav options but it was in 9 out of 10 games just a dead card...
I'm not a fan of the Delicate Plan version either. I love the straight blue build more than anything else. There's always going to be risks and sometimes you gotta just eat it.
I think pure blue, toolbox melga is the future of the deck until we get more of a reason to lean purple. The consistency being one color provides is just too good, Training can feel worse than a Cool Boy wiff in the more traditional splash of purple build. Not to mention the versatility of not relying solely on the one shot, being able to react and stun like blue hybrid is super good.
Largely, we need more purple gabumons and like Greymon cards, the lack of a purple/blue Garurumon X at 4 is hurting.

Jk But I highly prioritize bt5 over anything so I can make the climb from rookie up to lvl 7 when choked to 1 utilizing things like Matt and training. If you pop training you gain memory when digivolving. Also +1k dp all turns has saved me so many times.
Also viable! I really like the card draw that the promo provides and while it isn't once per a turn, I won't deny the matter that DP reduction is so prevalent in the game right now that the DP buff can be a save grace especially against a Valkyrimon ACE that currently resides on board. Without another 1k DP buff your level 5 stack can be typically targeted for deletion!
@@DIGI-PANDA The card draw is what I don't like about it. With the way things go these days, you are likely to deck yourself out within the first 4 turns with the deck if you're not careful. You already have that much card draw. No need for the promo.
Weregarurumon Ace is often overlooked but I think it's an amazing piece for the deck since it can freeze something, same with Melga SEC, I personally run 3 SEC and 3 BT9, no need to bottom deck something with EX1 if you freeze and eat up the security
Very true on both accounts! However, one problem I've been running into is the matter of blast digivolution. With Numemon decks in particular, they can DP reduce you and or delete your stack if the conditions are right. While you can evade with Metalgarurumon on the deletion, the problem is if your ACE gets deleted, that's an instant memory loss and potential pass of turn.
It just depends on what kind of decks you're seeing!
I’ve been playing MetalGar for some time now, and a lot of people sleep on BT1 Matt Ishida. But in my play testing they have been doing work in my BT16 battles for it’s effect of when a blue Digimon is played it strips bottom digivolution of your opponents Digimon. Also EX5 MetalGar X is a great card when your trash is set up. Def a fast and great deck that I think gets a bad rep.
Also not terrible! The only thing that I dislike about BT1 Matt is the matter that it's the bottom digivolution source. With so many great inheritables, you'll need to do a lot of source stripping to get to the problem sources if even possible with immunity in play.

If you haven't tried out Gabubond with Lui it can be crazy, and only gets better with time. I love that deck
Definitely! My only concern right now is that if we do end up seeing a restriction to Ukkomon, this might make the deck not as good. And that is yet another innocent bystander.
@DIGI-PANDA it works surprisingly well without ukkomon on bt17 with promo lobomon and ancientgarurumon, I'm currently testing it without any ukko. So, there is no need to fear!

Maybe one day we'll get a purple variant back for this deck and a black variant for Greymon :(
