Today we tried to reach the shelter, but the chaos on the roads after the floods made it impossible. With access blocked, the team has been making an arduous effort since morning, navigating closed roads and damaged bridges, as the situation worsens due to the lack of supplies. Getting a generator will be great help in a crisis. The repairs to the house to prevent water from coming in, will be a good protection for both humans and animals.👍
Hire a helicopter to bring in supplies you need. Water, blankets, food and whatever else you need. Ride with them in.

The most beautiful thing i see, thousands of other people walking to get into Valencia, to help their fellow man/women young and old. People of all nationalities helping one another, and those who have pets and the shelters.
The people walking are from the city centre of Valencia which right now is like an island, the people are taking shovels and brooms to help clear the surrounding villages of tons of mud - food trucks can't get in to us here so the supermarkets are almost empty - we have been informed this morning (2/11/24) that the mains water is ok to drink.
People in the villages have lost so much and have no water, electricity, gas, internet, phones, etc,etc and over 200 dead.
I do pray that the shelter has enough food for the dogs, and cats and any other animals they have there.
More and more people are starting to realize that heavy prepping is wise. It was inspirational seeing all those people on foot carrying supplies to help.
Absolute admiration for the Spanish people rallying to help those in the disaster zone.

I too am worried about the homeless dogs and cats.... I am encouraged by the footage of animal rescues, though... grateful to those who are risking their lives to save the unfortunate souls and their beloved pets.

This is a wake up call for all communities along coastal areas as to how to make a back up plan. Thank you for showing this to the world.
Not just coastal but all communities. In the US we just went through, even worse, similar disaster. In the mountains, not near a coast. Whole cities wiped out and burried in mud and flood waters. My heart goes out to everyone throughout the world affected by such disasters.

Dear Victor and Jairo....I do understand your situation. We also lived happily, until we were cut off electricity and watersupply. Suddenly those emergency tools become as normal as combing your hair. Wishing you the strength to carry on, to pick up the pieces. Most important are the animals. This is a terrible disaster and the animals are the most vulnerable.

I am so sorry for all of the people that lost their lives and praying for all that have been injured and lost their homes. I am from North Carolina, USA and up towards the mountains we lost whole towns from Helene, the entire landscape will be forever changed. People are living in tents and have lost everything. Farms and livestock that have been in their family for generations, just gone. They are still trying to recover bodies of the missing. Pets are still missing, it's just devastating. I can't imagine what your people are going through. I am crying for you and praying for you.
I have so many tears for every single person and animal in the disaster area. I am worried about the animals, wondering about Isador and the clinic…. It’s overwhelming. Still it was not as severe as what you all are experiencing. I am praying daily that you can get food and water to the animals. How are the dogs that are currently at your house? Viktor. So sorry that you and your neighbours around the country are going through this mess. Truly devastating. I'm amazed how all Spaniards are coming together to help each other during this very difficult time. At the same time, I am angry with others who take advantage of situations like these to hoard food and water, and leave barely nothing for the next person. I hope that the country can get back on its feet with the help of the government who has a lot of work to do to shield the country from (sad to say) future disasters like this one. Let us know if you were able to get to the shelters and the hospital and bring food to the pets and check on them. All the best. 😔

I will be watching every day with hopes that you find a way to reach the Great House with food for all the animals and those who work there.
