I do love the clean/minimalist look to these cars. I think it has to be in white for it to really pop. The other colours look flat in comparison. Great review as always
Hey ScottyJ1122 - Just a few facts for you Volvo trolls….(1) Polestar is fully funded for the next 3 years…with 3 new models to launch during that time period. Polestar has, as of March 2024, over $1 billion in independent (not Volvo) financing; (2) Geely owns both Polestar and Volvo. So nothing that Volvo did, with respect to divesting itself from Polestar, was done without Geely’s authorization.; (3) As Polestar cars are far more interesting (ie, Volvo cars are still stodgy looking…always have been, and always will be) than Volvo EV’s, the Geely plan was to always separate Polestar from Volvo. I’m very happy that Volvo management is out of Polestar’s chain of command. Volvo was always an anchor on Polestar’s creativity and innovation. Ultimately, whether Polestar or any EV startup company survives the slowdown in demand in EV’s from consumers, is something the market will determine. Clearly, this slowdown is affecting many/most EV brands in terms of sales. Coupled with huge US tariffs and the loss of any US subsidy for Polestar cars, does put them at a pricing disadvantage. But for the next 3-4 years, Polestar will be producing some stellar EV’s, and my advice for anybody worrying about their future…I would lease, then there is nothing to worry about during your lease period.
Beautiful car, thorough review Nobby. Half the add-ons in the 6k ‘plus pack’ I would have expected to be included in a 70k car. I just picked up a Model Y RWD for 44k 0% HP (10k deposit) Polstar 4 is very popular in China selling at 45k euro equivalent
Single Motor Long Range with Plus pack. 1 year old after suffering 20% depreciation (hopefully more)........would be the optimal way to get into one of these. Beautiful car and would probably be top of my EV wish list. (this might change if the Xiaomi SU7 ever makes it to our shores) (Nobby, the dash speaker isn't a "Sub"........it's a centre channel)
@@BlackHawkTejas there have been some issues alright.....I'm sure they will be sorted out. Tesla's have literally killed people....do you suggest people don't buy Tesla??
Well at least they got over the “not doing rear windscreen wiper” 😊. Makes you wonder what the hell €68,000 gets you when the list of items in the pack should probably be standard …….be interesting to see how much that lovely interior cost. Think you could be getting up to €90,000 for the dual motor. And no rear windscreen.
One other interesting thing to note, the lack of a rear windscreen solves the “do we/don’t we include a rear windscreen wiper on our cars” from certain manufacturers! Yes, my obsession with this topic is getting out of hand!
Had a look at this (Battersea station) .But no way do the sums add up . Not at the moment .The sales are so low for EV's that they are stacking up at docks in their thousands
I don’t get it. What was the benefit of having no rear window? As a van driver in a past life, I do not want to go back to no rear window for no reason. What is gained in such an odd choice?
As meantioned…removing the rear window, and all the supporting support infrastructure needed for the window….the people in the rear get more headroom and space, as well as the ability to recline the rear seats ….than they would if there was a window. But, the biggest improvement (not mentioned in this review) is that the camera at the top of the roof, that displays a 4K image on the rear view mirror…gives a MUCH wider field of view (I think 30-40 degrees wider) for the driver…so you not only see the rear of the car, but also the side of the car. HUGE improvement from the view one would get from their being a rear window.
Why are people so into large EVs.They are overpriced. Most of the gadgets in the EVs you will not use.Smaller EVs with average range is the way go and that is from some one who drives an EV hatchback.
I’m driving a polestar 2 while my model y is fixed, due to a hit and run it recorded. The polestar is so monumentally behind on so many fronts it is unbelievable. I tried to like it. But far out. I miss absolutely everything about the model Y in comparison. Looks like the polestar 4 has copied Tesla horizontal screen layout and UX on many fronts. This is probably a good thing, as the UX on the 2 is infuriating, and clunky as hell.

Had a Polestar 2 as a hire car last week, loved it.

You want an unsafe car like SU7 in Europe?? Why??

Great review, looking forward to the first drive and comparison of the single and dual motor versions 👍🏻
Looks great
Regarding the 360 degrees camera, how can we see the car from the top? Where would that camera located?
The car shoots out a small drone that gives you a 360 degree views
back seats are incredible!

Having seen one at a show, it’s a real looker.
All that technology in the back.....that my grandchildren would never use.
Hi Nobby, i love it except ill have to rob a bank or win the Lotto to get on.
Absolutely stunning car! This is the benchmark for the future!

Imagine how much the tyres will be when you have to replace them
if you spend 80 grand on a car and then worry about the cost of the tires it means that you couldn't afford the car in the first place.

It’s sorta like choosing a new kitchen.
😂 ffs, how in any way is it more like choosing a kitchen than any other car with an options list?
@@S4MM7ify ..because they’re all like buying a frickin kitchen
@@DaraM73 That answers it perfectly. To be more specific, I particularly like the way you answered the question perfectly. 😂 bloody Reform voter.
Is there people out there that pay that much money the best of look to them
Polestar design team finding out it would cost another €50 to have a rear wiper ‘f#ck that, let’s just get rid of the rear window’.
the euro tax on chinese ev,s could affect the prices.
That and their APR rates
No rear windscreen = no doggy - looks great, but not for me.

Expensive!
Expensive but so is an i4.

I’ll keep my petrol car thanks,EV’s are way too expensive

for example?
7.1 seconds to 60, what sort of nonsense is that 😂
Like my dad always
Used to say: Don’t worry son,
we’ll see him at the next stop light. All this 0-60 flexing…who cares?
A very flashy barbecue, hope it is good at doing steaks.
It's not a diesel 😂
Looks nothing like a Tesla..
👀
Thank God it doesnt 😊👍
Removing the back window is even more stupid then Tesla removing the indicator stalks.
Ha ha Volvo have just sold there shares in Polestar as quick as they could. The company probably will not be here next year.
Sold them back to Geely, the parent company.
I can't see Geely letting their flagship brand fail without a fight.
As part of a planned transfer of shares to their parent company.
Absolute lies.
You might want to finish off that story…. Who bought the shares?
At Polestar prices there's nobody else making an ev worth owning
I get fed up, stuck behind idiots in EVs driving at 40 mph everywhere!
These EVs all look the same, boring.
