I never watched this show first run. A few friends got into it later and I was over when they were watching this episode. As soon as she reached up to the top shelf and pulled the bottle down I said "Oh, it's the Bottled City of Kandor!" and EVERYONE LOOKED AT ME!

@@protorhinocerator142 To be fair, I had a Harry Potter prop in the closet of my old apartment for 10 years, because there was simply no place to put it.
Now I have a new apartment and can actually display it. Given the fact that the guys had so much merch in their apartment, maybe Leonard had no nice place to display it properly, so he kept it there up in the closet instead.

What's funny though, is if you look again, none of the clothes he wears throughout the show are in that closet. BIG continuity error.
If you do the math-most of those clothes would be leftover from approximately 1988. Meaning that, Penny's average age was about 2.5 years old, around the time that a 12.5 year old Leonard would have considered them to be fashionable (based information that he reveals in the video, and past episodes). 😀

The show became trash when Amy and Bernadette became regulars since the show tried way too hard to be like Friends. Even the main premise didn't hold up when 3 of the main characters were in stable relationships and acted normal for most of the show

This is so true. Steady girlfriends try to get rid of all your stuff; wives are successful at throwing out everything that you had before meeting her.
With my parents its the other way around. My mother is the hoarder (like collecting empty jars because they might be usefull at some point (they havent in the last decades)) and my father always tries to find sneaky ways to get rid of stuff without her noticing (like throwing said jars out while leaving the front row in the rack, so that it looks as if they are still all there!) ^^

The first 5 seasons were fantastic, then season 6 had a lot of good episodes, but not as good as the first 5 seasons. Then since season 7 the show hasn’t been great, and especially the last few years it seems like they have no idea of where the show is going. For me the show should have ended in season 9 or 10. In the first 5 seasons I loved all the characters, but now I cannot stand them, especially penny.

Thing is...even biggest nerds have to buy new clothes occasionally. And even biggest nerds can see styles change. And even biggest nerds like to dress sharp...even if they don't know what sharp is... So... he'd have more clothes and more current clothes...like the hoody he often wears.
