      @@glendakato722 yes it's really amazing and the location is fantastic! (especially if you like nightlife and street food! And the bts is so close too!)

    Great review.. for a short trip would you recommend the Mercure Soi 11 or the Sofitel?

    • @doolyb
      @doolyb  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      They are sooo close together that location makes no difference! But obviously price difference is pretty big. Both have a lounge if you have a high status and bith have great staff! If i was partying or with friends I would choose the cheaper option. If I was with yang and sight seeing and wanted an oasis of peace, calm and sophistication I would choose sofitel! It's also 4 mins closer to the BTS station if that makes a difference!

    Is it true the hotel has a sky bridge direct connection with BTS?
    The breakfast seems delicious

      @doolyb  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Breakfast is amazing and somehow I never found the skybridge but it's the same distance to the bts if you talk along the street too. Both the nana and asoke bts stations are about equidistant from the hotel so you have to walk about 7 minutes to get to the actual stations. Walking along the skybridge just means no need to cross the side streets or wait for traffic lights. It didn't bother us and it was more interesting for us to see all the action and chaos on the actual street 😅

    personally i dont stay at hotels with 5 -4 stars anymore in Bangkok i prefer 3 stars because i get annoyed by all the service and all the fuss and blingbling (and loud chinese ppl there).
    I want a fast check in good room and a nice bed and be left alone..and thats it =)

      @doolyb  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I do have to say in some cases I agree with you! It can be too much at times in some hotels and I am also not such a posh guy but I still wnat to try every hotel I can at least once. A less fancy option is the mercure down the road! But sometimes if you go too cheap you will get blood on your pillows like in my comparison video I made of 25 100 and 150 usd priced rooms🤣

      @@doolyb Many 3 star hotels in Thailand are high standard compared to the west..and if u not staying at obvious touristtrap hotels its often good.
      Even have some 2 star guesthouses favorites that are really stellar mainly catering thai people as guests.

      @@gmm5550 I absolutely agree! I was quite unlucky but I seem to get unlucky very often recently wtih my 2 star choices 😅

      @@doolyb one hot tip is to look for reviews from native thai in thailand they often say the absolute truth .
      I speak /understand pretty good thai so i get along well in that way.

      @@doolyb and as i said im not a "cheap charlie" but i do find the overservice and fuss and hoards of loud chinese..somewhat annoying. higher class hotels are often filled with chinese and breakfast is often a battlefield.=)

      @@arn9858 I think in that area most hotels must be but I can only say that when I got back from the club with my GF noone at door or reception asked her for id (she had checked in with me earlier but how could the staff know that). I guess just make sure you book the room for 2 people then they can't say anything. Perhaps another viewer can comment on this!
