$40 for 1 drink. Even with that view I would still be in the free drink lounge. And you have to stand the whole time. I can see the beauty and checking it off a bucket list. The view was breathtaking.

I'll be going to Bangkok in April 2025 and already booked at this hotel Lebua for 5 nights with river views and 50th Fl and above. I'm looking forward to enjoy the breathtaking views. Thank you for an amazing video as always! 😄👍❤
Last time we stayed in the Lebua, they had over-booked their regular rooms - they upgraded us to a two bedroom, three balcony suite on a high floor. Score!
I noticed as well. His appearance and accent lead me to believe he is from Myanmar rather than the Philippines or Indonesia. I’m not very familiar with how non-Thais can obtain work permits in the hotel industry for general positions like room clerk or concierge. From what I know, many high-end hotels mostly offer positions to foreigners in leadership roles that require special skills like the general manager, residence manager, head chef, and Wine Sommelier for example.
@@weekdaycycling - It's Thailand's lack of workers with English fluency. The hospitality industry in Thailand recruits English speaking workers from other countries to work in hotels and resorts that caters to English speaking tourists.
@@Travelwithchris thank you Chris. Been watching your vids for a couple of days now. been wanting to go visit Thailand for a long time but after this video I got convinced that Bangkok is a gorgeous city and deserves a visit. 😂😂
Hey Chris! Cool video. I've actually been to that bar before. I went there around 2016. It was a short walk from my hotel at the Center Pointe Silom, which I could totally see from the skyline view. I know that is in the Bangrak area. Yes, it's really pricey, but you are there to enjoy an experience and this is about living in the moment. Glad you had a good time on this trip to Thailand. You're making me really want to re-visit there again after 5 years away.
Amazing content, thank you... my girlfriend just shared this with me... we now are planning on staying at the Lebua... in a few weeks from now.. thank you... at least now we won't be shocked by feeling like drinks not included... etc... we now know the gig. Nicely done, really like your communication style, well done. Thanks for keeping it real.
I definitely recommend the Sitara Hotel. It's affordable. And, the owner is a very welcoming and nice Indian man. I stayed 3x between 2021 and 2022. The area is perfect. I love Bangkok!
Chris, I was in Bangkok, Thailand in 2003. Next time, when I return, I will try this Hotel. You are right, the Hotel could use a little more updating! Fantastic view!! All the way from Canada.
you inspired me to going to Kuala Lumpur, and i will visit Bob.. youre vlogs are so energyfull, and please stay humble as you are, helping people is such a good deed.. keep going on this way, greetings from the Netherlands(origin Turkish🇹🇷)
Thanks so much for this vid,its so awesome ❤ im so glad to see your progress and well deserve good things, what give is what you receive thats well said, blessings Chris❤
The most iconic hotel in Bangkok is Mandarin Oriental Hotel, with 150 years of history. Lebua Hotel is iconic just for people who watched the Hangover.
We´ve had nearly the same experience. All the furniture ist really old and the at the Leboa. We had the biggest Suite in teh Hotel. The We get some water as we´re welcome to the hotel. In cool bottels.... The Lounge ist verg very good. Stay healthy and thanks for the Video.
I stayed there twice. One at the regular side and one at the State Tower floors. Never paid more than $200 and it included breakfast and the lounge / free drink
Bangkok has actually got so many recently opened super lux hotels that have replaced the Shangri la and Lebua of yesteryear's. It's one of the greatest cities for lux hotels in the world IMHO.
Nice video! Good review honest and straight. They really could improve welcome part which is always the case and you pay for the view. We always dress to be ready to head to lounge when arrive 😄🙈😻
Sup Chris, love your vids and admiring your travels... I am a BIG fan of the Marriott properties but might have to give the Lebua Hotel a try just for the view and amenities. Thanks for sharing.
I stayed here back in 2009. Amazing hotel. Prices were a fair bit cheaper back then before The Hangover made it mega famous, but a truly amazing hotel 🙏 🇹🇭
Great place I was out there a few years back. Stayed there for 3 nights. It was very expensive, but I don't regret it. Place is beautiful ,area is a little sketchy.....
Man I was just looking at staying there! $300 is fair considering you got a full suite, if you had a small family or friends to share it with that would be more ideal (cost effective). I'll be there next week and I'll be traveling to Cambodia the following week as well, safe travels!
Oh wow, the last bit with the view of the river and that smiling kid poster is the same view I'll have from the room I booked for Oct this year :D :D :D so pumped after watching this. Great vid!
Hey Chris, i enjoy your Journey's. I appreciate your kind heart and fair assessments. I will be in Thailand for Songkran, April 06-24. I can speak a little thai and have spent 4.5 years of my life there if you ever want any help or guidance. dont need anything but appreciation in return. Happy Travels Sir!😊
i think thats why they are doing some renovation works at some of those floors..to upgrade the rooms.. n once that’s done, your room/floor might be next… its about time for that hotel to do some upgrades..
The interior design and materials used in the room give off a partially old-school vibe. While it offers ample space, it doesn’t quite give out the stylishness one might expect compared to other new 5-star hotels. The telephone and curtain sticks look outdated, while many modern hotels opt for full home automation. You can control stuff from your bed.
I stayed 2 nights in Lebua, great views, especially from roof, sunsets (if you pick river view) lovely large rooms and great breakfast, had to experience it but its not me.
I stayed there for a week earlier this year. Very fun video. My girlfriend and I are going back to Asia soon. LMK if you are ever in Tampa and we will give you a tour so you can do a video here. :) Keep in touch.
Hey Chris, Thanks for the great video and review! Curious why back in March you paid over $300 for just one night. Thai new year (Songran) isn’t until April.. so I can see rates higher then. But March? Today (8/19/24) I just checked (and booked thanks to you), we booked the Club tower river view suite on 51-52 floor, for $105 per night--$129 with lounge access. I booked through Expedia, which was cheaper than Lebua directly.
I stayed at a place called the chaleena princess....its right on the chao phraya.....the room was a corner view room and the room was straight out of the 70s 😂😅
Stayed there myself last year but booked during covid, so for some reason, it was still the covud price that far in advance £120 I regretted buying 3 drinks there before i knew the price of them 😮
It always tastes better when it’s free lol I get a lot of free food and drink as a refrigeration engineer and that is my phrase I use with my family lol
Chris, I got caught up with the LONG PANTS RULE, but wasn't staying there. Conveniently, there was a tailor within the Lebua where I had to buy a pair of black stretch denim pants to save the day. I'm surprised they haven't told you off for "filming the menu/drink list" because just inside sitting at the table, I was abruptly told I was not allowed to, just as I neared the last page. THE DRINKS were INSANELY OVER PRICED!
$40 for 1 drink. Even with that view I would still be in the free drink lounge. And you have to stand the whole time. I can see the beauty and checking it off a bucket list. The view was breathtaking.
$40 for a normal drink is insane. For a super rare 35 plus year old scotch or something, maybe. 40 bucks and you can't even sit down. LOL

The Marriott Marquis Queens Park along the busy Sukhumvit is also lovely
I need to try that!
(Bangkok) Try using the above ground electric train. And the subway, or not yet?
