I don't think there's been a single convention that I've had to travel to where I didn't forget some key thing and then had to purchase it there. The cost of having ADHD.
I once forgot my red body paint for some little hearts so I drew them on with red eye shadow and red lipstick, which I had with me for SOME reason. Since then I write down a very detailed list of things I have to pack. ADHD sucks sooo hard 😓🙃

I groaned in sympathy when you said you forgot your Beauty Blender and foundation because I've done BOTH of those things over the years at cons, SO SORRY that happened. 😭
Im so sorry this happened. And I'm sure your friends would have told you that you could use their things. I know me personally, I was the con friend who brought sooooo many extra things. Like everything, just in case someone was in a situation like that. I overprepared because I would have nightmares weeks and months before a con about not being prepared so I was super paranoid up to the cons I went to. And thankfully I was able to help a few people. But man I know how stressful con stuff is and unfortunately sometimes that crappy shit happens. Hopefully it becomes great content though to benifit you even just a little. I commend you for wearing Pomni though. With my sensitivity issues I couldn't. I'd be so freaked out, so you have all the hats off. I always loce your content and wishing you the best man~

I’m so sorry that happened but you definitely were not alone in having a slightly rocky start to the con 😅me and my friend were broken during Sakura-con I pinched a nerve in my back at work and my friend sprained her ankle while at work lol, the entire weekend I used those hot and cold patches and my friend wore her ankle brace 😅, still managed to have a great time at least and next year hopefully we wont be broken lol.
I was chibi moon for a con once and worked really hard on making a life size Luna P prop. We get to the con and I'm like...I forgot Luna P...lmfao it happens to EVERYONE 😅

Honestly while having one "big" inconvenience or event can make for a fun story due to the absurdity of it, this particular storytime is so real? Having lots of little things go wrong or building up over the weekend is so relatable, and it can put a damper on your overall experience! 100% agree that doing what you can for yourself to lift your spirits during a convention even when things go wrong is super important! You did a great job at sticking it out and persevering!! To add onto that, I've found that good company makes for a better time? Maybe it's just because I got sick of all the random drama, but I've started to attend conventions with just my super close friends and prioritized hanging out with them lots, and it's made even the lows a lot easier.

A few years back, I completely spaced packing my Katara pants. We were 7 hours into the drive when I realized. It was so upsetting at the time but I can laugh about it now. My group is constantly trading lash glue for wig caps still lol
Idk how you feel about it, but I recently switched to using magnetic lashes instead of glue-ons and it's a GAME CHANGER. It's just a magnetic eyeliner and then you stick the lashes on. I'm never going back to glue. There's nothing worse than already having a bad day AND having shark week on top of it AND being in sensory overload. I so feel you on that my dude. I'm glad you still managed to turn everything around and had a great time as Meryl in the end
I'm not a big fan of the Glamnetic lash styles available, so I haven't felt compelled to trying them. Love my big anime girl lashes haha. Also I mean the problem here was forgetting the glue, not the glue itself so I don't think having a different product would have saved me. 😆 Yeah, shark week did not make things easier. 😭😭😭 But I did my best to salvage the weekend. 🫡
Sometimes you gotta line up your soldiers (outfits, accessories, essentials, etc) to make sure they're all there and what they'll be used for, so no man is left behind! .....hopefully....

The irony that the one year I don’t go (I lug around the biggest fucking makeup kit that includes literally everything up to sfx makeup) you end up misplacing like half your stuff for it. I woulda just been like “no problem take this eye lash glue I have 6”

My little story I have as well: 1. My cosplay I did in 2023's Comic Con, I was dressed as Sarada Uchiha and oh boy...I did not double check my wig straps nor the glasses that I wore because I had such a bad headache after a while I was struggling to function. 2. Comic Con 2024 starts in a week for me (27 April) and well...let's just say I unfortunately ordered my items I needed for my currently cosplay I'm making (N from Murder Drones) 1 week ago...and it still has not arrived so it kinda aches my heart that I ordered the items on the last minute and it probably won't be here in time for Comic Con at all.
I recently got into Bungou Stray Dogs, put together a Dazai cosplay in time for Sak, planned to only wear it once on Thursday since I had to run the BNHA meetups the other days.... ended up in Dazai for at least half the day all 4 days of con. On Saturday I went to change from Dazai to Hawks, accidentally gave myself only half an hour... unstyled lace front, makeup change, and all. Sus Sak Saturday makeup gang.
I got spurs that jingle, jangle, jingle As I go ridin' merrily along And they sing, "Oh, ain't you glad you're single" And that song ain't so very far from wrong Oh, Lillie Belle Oh, Lillie Belle Though I may have done some foolin' This is why I never fell
