Ive watched this 20 minute video for at least 3 hours rewinding, pausing, adusting, working on it for a few days, going back to the book, coming back here. Really one of my favorite videos on all of youtube. Great work.
This is by far the the best GTD tutorials, ever. After watching this and taking some notes - I did my latest and fourth reiteration of my personal GTD system. I have to say, I am very happy. This past few days have been the most productive I felt and I am only starting. Felt like I have overcome some bottlenecks issue. Thanks a lot.
I'm so happy to hear that! GTD has helped me so much in being productive and meeting my goals too. It's truly a wonderful system once you get it customized to your needs.
With that. The video is a very great tutorial she planned it all out (: Clearly she Did the footage on very good intention 👍we definitely rose from the couch to get things done ✔️ after watching it
I have been looking for a good video on GTD method for soo long! And this is it. It explains the method better than any other video on youtube. Thanks for saving me hours and days of confusion! 💖
I have read almost the whole of the GTD book but it is quite meaty and a lot to process so this video has really helped to summarise the important steps in the process, thank you! I would love to see a video of your weekly review process in action 🎬
Thanks so much for watching! 💕 I definitely plan to film an updated video of my weekly review. I posted one a few months ago, but a lot of things in my system has changed since then!
Just watched this last night...excellent video. Just a heads up, on another site, someone suggested reading "Getting Things Done for Teens" instead of the adult version. I'm in the middle of reading it (got it at the library) and it's a quicker, less overwhelming read. Many that will help you on your journey to getting things done! M
I’m not sure how I have never seen your videos until today! It seems like your content would be right up my alley. Thanks for this! I’ve been wanting to read this book so a breakdown is super helpful.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. I need to get organized fast and I'm a slow reader, so it was going to take me too long to get through the book (which I will still finish reading) This is super clear and helpful, thank you again!
I loved the simplicity of your presentation. I finished watching your video and fully appreciated the GTD method that I had never heard of before. Thank you.
I'm the owner of a small business started by my own. It's been growing so well but recently I've been lost between my tasks and things I need to do for other aspects of my life other than business. I'm gonna start using this method. This video is the most useful one about GTD so far. Thank you for the video, it deserves millions of views! 🙋🏻♂️
You explained this so clearly! Thank you!!! I have watched so many videos, but watching your video, with the example of the wallet was eye-opening. Thank you!
Thank you very much for this video. I read the book using an audiobook and you really summed it up well visually for me to get started. Just decluttered all my notes and now I am GTD ready. Thanks for clearing things up!
I've been trying different versions of GTD implementation (I get caught between wanting to be an ultra tech guru to putting braids in my hair and not using a smart phone again lol) but this video was so helpful. The best I've seen so far, keep up the good work.
Thank you for making this tangible. I loved the book, but the information in it is so hard to mentally grasp for me without a picture or video actually showing the implementation. Subscription earned, ma'am!
Great video! I've been listening to the audio book and taking notes on my laptop while listening. The dictation function on Word helps to make my note-taking faster.
you made it really easy and simple to understand this method. i really appreciate the flow chart and the example of returning a wallet as project. Thanks
Thank you for this beneficial video. You helped me have so much more clarity. I appreciated seeing your view of using the GTD with bullet journal setup. Thank you. I subscribed to your channel. I look forward to viewing your other videos.
You have incredible penmanship! Mine would be a journal of chicken scratch lol I like using my Mac the calendar, reminders and notes load to the cloud. Thanks for the concise synopsis of the GTD system.
Thank you so much for watching! I'm glad my video helped you. 😄 Having neat handwriting just takes practice! I took it a little too seriously when we would get graded for note-taking in school haha.
First time reviewing your video, really enjoyed your simple steps in using the GTD system. It is good system just can get overwhelmed with all the projects. Thank you , I have subscribed to your video
Just a small correction: I believe David Allen’s 43 folders file system is NOT a part of the Capture/Inbox step, but is designed as the “tickler” system for Next Actions. “The 43 folders system consists of a maximum of 31 folders for each day in the running month and 12 folders for the year. This adds up to a total of 43 folders and gives the system its name. You can place all short-term items into the appropriate daily folder to schedule them for the current month. Items which need attention in a future month are put in the corresponding monthly folder. This makes the fortythree folders one of the easiest to use personal productivity systems.”
When I think of “project” the first thing that comes to mind is a school project that the teacher assigns and is due on a specific day. As an adult who hasn’t been in school since “back in the day” I now have to reframe how I see and think about that word.
I totally empathize! I had trouble with motivation and productivity after I was done with school, because I felt like I suddenly didn't have the structure of school deadlines. I had to do a lot of re-learning.
Thanks so much for the lovely comment! I actually do have public speaking experience. ☺️ Video filming is quite different, but some skills do transfer over!
Thanks so much for watching! Would you mind telling me the difference? I understood the Someday/Maybe list to be a Tickler file or at least part of it, but it's been a while since I've read the book. 😅
It's anything you don't need to take action on. Things you've already done, you can just trash anything that has to do with it that you don't need anymore. It's helpful for keeping your files organized.
Wonderful breakdown of a complicated topic, thank you for great content. I will add though that your Return Wallet project was not truly finished. I would of added Get Money Back in my Waiting For list. Unless you wanted to exchange it. But yeah great work.
Thanks so much for watching! I'm currently reading The Desire Map by Danielle LaPorte, but I've been so slow about it. 😅 I will definitely share my thoughts when I'm done!
Hello, thank you for sharing this video. What do we do with the next action list? May you share that. My next action list is just keep piling and I am not getting time to take care of them.
Hi! If your next actions list is piling up, I would suggest sitting down and re-assessing your list. Anything that can wait, put back in your someday/maybe list. It would also help to clarify if anything your list is important at all. There's no shame in cancelling plans either! I have a video "GTD Calendar vs Next Actions" that might help you define what's important to you. ☺️
Thank you for this simple but very effective explanation. Try tick tick app or todoist , everything can be placed at one place. After comparing the 2 tick tick will work best for GTD so I prefer ticktick 👍
I really like how you explain how to do the steps... thank you. I would like to see more on GTD in the journal bullet. and also how to set up google list...thank you
Are you selling your flowchart paper by chance? I did find out, but yours is so much cleaner and neater, and I like the simplistic view. Thank you. I'll look around your page too in the meantime. Your handwriting is insane.. beautiful..
Very good video, thanks. I love the book but I'm trying to convert the method into a digital version using Microsoft O365 apps I use for work (Planner, To Do, Teams, Outlook, One Note) and so it was useful to help give me some ideas for that. I find that with modern apps, the idea of deciding to put things on the Calendar now becomes a bit blurred with a Next Actions to do list (as in say, To Do, when you put a due date on the next action, it can end up giving an automated reminder on that day in the way that putting it on your calendar would be your reminder on the day). I'm still figuring out how to perfect it, I feel like if someone could do a video on the how GTD can be built into the O365 suite of apps it would be amazing!
For me, I distinguish between Calendar and Next Actions based on what my priorities are for the day. Strict deadlines go in the calendar, all else are just next actions to me. I give myself a lot of leeway to forward things. I don't know if that helps! 😅 I'm mainly a pen-and-paper planner as a hobby, but there are lots of digital planning content out there too! I think someone in my comments have also mentioned One Note for GTD.
Question all action items are not necessarily next action items? Meaning if you have 10 projects with 10 clearly define actions for each project (100 tasks that needs to be completed) ..... Not all of these 100 task will go on your next action immediately ? Maybe you move 10 of these task at a time from the actionable list to the next action list? (To prevent you from feeling overwhelmed with a huge list)

I've been trying different versions of GTD implementation (I get caught between wanting to be an ultra tech guru to putting braids in my hair and not using a smart phone again lol) but this video was so helpful. The best I've seen so far, keep up the good work.
Thanks so much! I can totally relate to that feeling! I worked in the tech industry and I rely so much on web apps, but what if lol!

Never related so much to a comment lol

Thanks so much for watching! GTD has helped me so much, I hope it helps you too. I plan on making more in-depth videos about it in the future as well!

Thanks for the great synopsis of GTD. One thing, the Tickler file concept is a little bit different from Someday/maybe list.
Thanks so much for watching! Would you mind telling me the difference? I understood the Someday/Maybe list to be a Tickler file or at least part of it, but it's been a while since I've read the book. 😅
Excellent summary!
Thank you so much for watching!
Thank you for making this video. This is so great.

@@spellboundnotes You're welcome keep the great work :)
Thank you this was very helpful. I read the book years ago and need to get back to this method.
Thanks so much for watching! GTD has helped me so much, I think it's definitely worth another try!
Great video! One thing I didn’t understand. What is a non-actionable item? What did trash have to do with that?
It's anything you don't need to take action on. Things you've already done, you can just trash anything that has to do with it that you don't need anymore. It's helpful for keeping your files organized.
Wonderful breakdown of a complicated topic, thank you for great content. I will add though that your Return Wallet project was not truly finished. I would of added Get Money Back in my Waiting For list. Unless you wanted to exchange it. But yeah great work.
Thank you so much for watching! Yeah, I realized that when I was editing my video. 😅
Perfect and very clear!!
Glad to help! Thanks so much for watching.
Great video. Please do more book summaries.. Thanks.. your new subscriber!!

I like paper planning, but those are great options!
I’m 100% paper. It takes me twice as long to tap something into a phone app as to just scribble a note. Plus I’m always losing my phone.
I really like how you explain how to do the steps... thank you. I would like to see more on GTD in the journal bullet. and also how to set up google list...thank you
Thanks so much for watching! I'll definitely be sharing how I set up my Google Keep in the future.

Yes, that's correct! You only want to add the very next step for each project.
