Thank you for this, that is why I was sure to say, “it’s been said”, even with Susan I didn’t find any pictures of them dating and even after watching an interview with Brenda but old articles made claims of them dating.

@La-wr5dn I would think when doves cry would be more of a song about Vanity's departure. The song says how could You leave me just standing. Why do we scream at each other?. Maybe I'm to demanding, She's never satisfied. Things that everyone around the 2, including themselves said they use 2 fight a lot. Then she left him just before they started filming. If U look at a lot of lyrics of Purple Rain. Most of the songs are about someone leaving him. The movie was based off of Prince and Vanitys relationship. Susan and Prince personal relationship may have ended. But she still stuck around.
Yes, you nailed it Purple Rain and those songs written for the movie were about Vanity. The beautiful ones leave you all the time! To be perfectly honest Vanity was a more well-rounded beautiful woman who succeeded in several 🎥 rolls without Prince. She will always be one of the most beautiful women of all time!

I started emailing Denise over 18 years ago because I have always looked up to her. She was a born-again Christian at the time. She always wrote back with encouraging words, and bible verses. I even sent her a picture of my daughter after I gave birth to her. She told me how beautiful my daughter was, and I was ecstatic to hear back from her again. My daughter is now about to graduate high school. I was heartbroken when Denise passed in 2016. This is why my TH-cam name is what it is. RIH Denise Matthews

I was watching the video while Vanity was in I got distracted and looked away and when I turned I guess I was seeing Apollonia cause I was thinking something was wrong with Vanitys face almost got spooked there for a moment 😊 Denise Matthews/ Vanity was stunning

I met The Mary Jane Girls back in the day and they were electrifying! Sadly they broke up after they lost their album deal and lead singer JoJo left. Solo singer Val Young has been singing lead ever since with a reunion band and it just isn’t the same. The line up and sound is a hot mess.
