Stand back @1:50...don't "mess" with CSX's "SpongeBob" Geeps and SD's!! Beautiful new UTLX tankers on that train, as well. Very cool seeing the Miami University campus...when I attended Ohio University Athens back in the early 70's, I often heard about that school. Thanks for stopping by at Hamilton...always a treat (there). 👍👍
Going by the squeaking of the rails as they go down and up when the wheels go over, it seems like there is a bit of a subsidence under the tracks, just screaming for a bit of track maintenance. That bouncing is pulling the track spikes loose.
The devices at 27:35 are Automatic Equipment Identifiers. They read the RFID panels on the cars much the same as the Pikepass on your car. If they are co-located with a defect detector the defect detector can tell exactly where the defect is without the conductor or others walking the entire train to find it.
Perhaps on another visit you could show us where that curved track goes with the old rail. Mr Carnegie would be extremely proud as he was still alive when that rail was rolled at the mill. Then the train that passes has a whole group of brand new UTLX tank cars. Who knows maybe the rail will outlive those cars. If in doubt on one of those lengthy meets go to the Dairy Depot and you'll feel better but that is one of the problems with PSR. Another niche of the Buckeye state has now been explored

I can see you working their with a lawn chair facing the tracks😂 waiting for a firecall. Whattt 1899! A daily runner lol.. even the fedex guy said..oh waittt..theres moree😅have a great day JT
Yup, two of my favorite things at one location. I wish that line got more trains. It only gets about four or five every 24 hours. I had a heads up on this one and got there just in time.
1972. Purdue University, I think it was the 2nd smallest Big 10 school with 40k on campus enrollment. I earned a B.S. Math in 2 1/2 years. Then, back to the Fleet as an Ensign. I had to successfully finish the Navy Nuclear Power School as I did as an enlisted man in the spring of 1972. Wow!... thanks for the way-back memories, Señor Jaws. Hi JT, Your Oxford is not much different to our Oxford! With the beautiful university. Fab fire station & trucks! The rail still in use from 1899 is amazing JT. We have a Camden too! Very nice crossing & runner, must have known what was about to happen😮 that was a long long train to block a crossing. Fab seeing the train move off the siding onto the main plenty of live action JT. I remember my hometown of Lebanon Ky. Built another Fire and Rescue on the other side of the track's back in the late 70's because the trains ran right through the middle of town and would sometimes block the crossings. 30:33 The five-section cars carry 20' and 40' containers, which are international boxes built to a standard that allows their use on container ships headed overseas. Halfway through that train, the consist changes to three-section cars for 53' containers, which are strictly domestic and don't leave North America. International containers can travel in these cars as well, as 45' and 48' ones. Why the longer cars were never built as five-section units is unknown to me as of this writing.
