  • I’m back at Ardingly Antiques Fair in West Sussex where I bumped into Jo the antiques dealer…she always exhibits is in the same spot and in the same building every time the fair is on!
See IACF website for fair dates and locations

If you have any antique story, a collection to feature, or something interesting to sell, let me know and we might be able to make a film about it!
    Cheers

Jo has some beautiful items on her stall. I love old things. I'm really into the "make do and mend". I do all the clothing repairs for myself, my husband and my daughter's family. We've also rescued some furniture items that were heading for the tip. I know people who throw things out because they are slightly worn which is sad.

    i like religious
    artefacts...
    but these figures
    look eminently
    fakeable...
    i was stung once
    by a supposedly
    seventh-century
    roman spoon...
    bought it from a
    york antique shop
    from a guy who
    was a silversmith
    himself...took it to
    the british museum
    and david...'the
    expert on roman'
    told me it wasn't
    roman and that his
    friend who was a
    medievalist told
    him that it wasn't
    medieval either...
    so all that was
    left was modern!!...
    got my money
    back but only just
    then they put it
    back up on line for
    sale again with
    the same
    description!!...
    there's so much
    fakery about
    in antiques...it
    really is a question
    of buyer
    be very aware...
    don't get conned
    folks...stick
    with what you
    know best.
