Chat noticed that there are a ton of 'ticking' sounds in Mondstadt themes. I'm guessing this is the case because Anemo is closely related to the God of Time, Istaroth. There is even a temple made for specifically for her in Mondstadt, the Thousand Winds Temple.
And what more fun is that we gain more information on Ei quest 2 than whole mond on istaroth who s the most important god in the lore. Its logic cause eternity and time is link and as we know the power of reality and time don t apply to Ei so istaroth and asmodeus power have any effect on her.
I think a underrated part of Raiden’s music is just how much mileage they got out of it. “Bane of the Ambitious” is this intense, heart pounding battle music which characterizes Raiden neatly through it’s speed, intensity and repetitiveness. Then in “Thunderings of the Merciless” we get a continuation of this with now Inazuma’s theme played on top symbolizing Raiden inseparable connection to it (I even think they share a leitmotif). However with the story the music also feels like it represents the battle between Raiden, represented by her own theme, and Traveller, represented by Inazuma’s theme as we’re fighting on their behalf. In addition to the more obvious and literal struggle between what Raiden wishes for Inazuma’s future and what Inazuma wants. And all of this is then changed by Raiden’s second story quest. Now the meanings within “Thunderins of the Merciless” kinda reverse with Ei being represented by Inazuma’s theme and the puppet is represented by Raiden’s theme, which before represented her character but now represents her past ideals which the puppet is following. You can also view “Thunderings of the Merciless” as showing how Ei and Inazuma are now unified in their will instead of being opposed, their respective themes being played together is no longer signifying conflict, but cooperation. Which means that this same piece of music can evoke different and sort of opposite emotions depending on your progress in the story, like, wow, just wow.
This is very well put I hope the next few Archon have this much connection to their nation in the music. So far only Raiden is interwoven into Inazuma itself and you can not only see it in the environment of Inazuma but in the music itself. She the first Archon I've seen that has such an overarching connection to the whole nation even when she's not present. Of course Venti is the wind of Mondstadt just like Zhongli is the Mountains and pillers of Liyue and Nahida is the rainforest in Sumeru but they don't have as much of an connection to their nation outside of the main city. I hope that the next few have that.

Tartaglia's battle theme still is my favourite first phase. Nothing even comes close to it cuz all the other first phases just sound like its just building up to something. Tartaglia's first phase goes into action right from the beginning which is why I love it.
Yeah... And honestly, his first phase is, in my opinion, even better than the last phase. It's just so playful, and it encompasses hydro to me. The woodwinds and some other instruments which I can't identify sound like water streams and the whole flow of the melody (pun not intended) is just so good.
If you think about it, it makes sense: For Signora, this battle was just another obstacle before she could get the gnosis (or so she thought); Scaramouche was interrupted while achieving godhood; but for Tartaglia, this is all he wanted: a thrilling battle
Osial’s theme is so incredibly underrated i’m glad you didn’t forget it !! i totally blame hoyo for making the fight story-exclusive instead of a weekly boss as the reason most people forget its existence lolol

Your videos and livestreams truly make listening to Genshin music such a special experience that I cannot put into words. Thank you for your reactions and exquisite covers too!! You bring out the best in the emotional aspect in all of the tracks :)
I think my tier list would look similar to yours. The thing that sets Archon Raiden and Scaramouche themes apart is that all of the themes are bangers. Signora, Azhdaha, and Childe have much calmer first phase themes, so I don't get as excited. Though it definitely makes sense with the story, as Childe is just playing with you before using Foul Legacy, Signora's rage is held back by her Delusion, and the Azhdaha fight is about Morax going down memory lane. PS: I know this is cheating, but I think the Honkai remix of Andrius theme would be S tier.
Personally I think the Honkai remix kinda loses the ambience and story telling of the original. Of course the EDM and techno they add to the remix does make it more exciting and thrilling but I much prefer the Genshin one as we get to spend time with the orchestra and fully immerse in the storytelling. It is up to taste in the end though. There's certain tracks that I feel work better with Electronic while others work better with Orchestra. An example in Honkai would be Devouring Snake as I much prefer the orchestral version but I also much prefer the Techno version of Twisted Chants.
@@AlexKeal I think it's a matter of telling a story through music versus having entertaining music that will not bore listeners who do the boss fights week after week. Genshin Andrius is a trial for the Traveler, especially as someone whom a lot of lower level players will do week after week (billets, talent materials, etc). Considering how low the damage numbers are at the early ARs and the boss fight being mechanically undemanding, the composers can afford to let the song simmer for the fullest story experience. The intro of Honkai Andrius is something that will be played a lot and will be etched onto players ears because of its invincibility mechanic. As a crossover character, he would basically have no story, and therefore the composers could afford to remix it into a purely boss fight theme (unlike Genshin Andrius which has to balance story and boss fight bop). I think that the Scaramouche theme has struck the best balance of being a boss theme and a story engine. Even if you can burst phase 1 in 5 seconds, it already has done a good drum beat. The artificial limiting on phase 2 allows the player to reach the song's high points.
My personal top 4 are Childe > Scara > Raiden / Signora. I love Scara’s theme but I don’t think it tops Childe’s original wow factor for me as a new player around the time it came out. It was really hard and I had to sacrifice characters over and over again to get oneshot over the badass music. I haven’t experienced the other bosses on release, so the music was already in my head before I got there. I’m unsure where Raiden and Signora belong over each other, I love both themes and I listen to them just as often as my top two. Edit: I love the wolf too! I nearly forgot about him. Idk where he fits on my list, they’re all so good D: if I were to put him somewhere phase 2 would probably go above Raiden (a theme I’ve already heard a lot in Inazuma anyway)
We can expect another Sumeru weekly boss sooner or later (theres 2 for each nation), so I am looking forward to your reaction whenever it releases officially. Edit: YEPPPPP. Apep is coming soon.
I love Signora's theme the most. It reminds me a group of reddit mains who will never meet their loved character for eternity. It describes their feeling perfectly: getting separated with their loved one and then they stay mad.
@@The-hamster2471 on its own its very bland and doesnt really taste like anything but it absorbs other tastes very well so you can mix it with other spices
Raiden's boss theme is an unbeatable experience in the game for me, I love the other themes as well, but just the fact that most of them stop midway through when you do well in a fight just don't sit right with me, so raiden's theme that switches between the normal and the hardcore guitar part between her both phases is the best, personally. Hope more bosses do the same in the future.. Also, awesome stream! I could listen to the boss themes 24 7, and It's awesome to listen to them with someone else who appreciates them :)
39:17 Without spoiling the story, there is a story cutscene in the archon quest that shows how right you actually are about this. On top of that, once you have that fight unlocked as a weekly boss domain, his defeated voicelines are "I can't...lose it all again..." and "I was...destined for more..."
My favorite thing about the Osial Theme is not only do you have to dance with the Great Vortex, you also have to dance with the ever changing time signatures from 5/4 to 4/4 to 3/4 to 7/4 to 6/4
Rage beneath the Mountains is the one song that I can only listen to on a high volume, because it's so awesome and the live version is even better, so I made it my ringtone. XD
Top 3 in order for me would be Signora, Shogun, then Tartaglia. Part of why I like Signora’s theme so much is that the opening sounds like Symphonie from Tokyo Ghoul, so there’s some nostalgia. Even without that it’s amazing though: the hauntingly beautiful syncopation of voice and percussion, and the searing vocals of the second phase creating a rock opera easily make this my favourite theme in the game. Shogun’s theme is just conceptually so cool, using a mix of modern and traditional instruments which by themselves portray Inazuma’s struggle with eternity: past and future. Even the repetition of the Inazuma motif throughout feeds into this symbolism. The bits of empty space in the later parts of the theme add to this idea as well, and hit WAY harder than they have any right to. I can’t say I ever expected moments of silence to be my favourite parts of a song, but here we are. As always, love watching you react to and enjoy video game music!
My personal favorites are: 1. Bane of Ambitions 2. Chrysalis SUSpirii ඞ 3. Thunderings of the Merciless my least favorite: 1. Wrath of Unicorn Caeli 2. Symphony of the Boreal Wind 3. Tartaggles first Battle OST (but tbh the upcoming Apep-Ost is probably going to take at least the 3rd favorite Spot for me. Back then when the Chasm was released this OST was leaked but never released, which was quite sad bcs it was the best Chasm OST by a long shot).
My experience with the Genshin boss themes has been an interesting one because, the first time I heard: The Dvalin, Andrius, Childe, Osial, and Scaramouche themes, were in-game. While I first heard the Singora, Raiden Shogun, and Azdaha themes before I reached those parts of the game. I definitely prefer to have a fresh and as blind experience as possible with the story and especially boss fights.
Hi Marco! In one of Doro's latest video's he tried to guess the character through their themes. When I watched it, I immediately thought of you so I wonder if that's something you'd want to try as well

It would be so hard to rank these... Seriously they're all S tier for me. Edit: you know what, now that I think about it, there is one that's only A tier, and that's Osial... Still excellent but not at the level of the others. That's also the only boss that's just portrayed as completely evil in the game, with no nuance or empathetic qualities. Probably not a coincidence.
35:00 it's funny because Scara's theme is literally the only one that manages to unfocus me (so I get hit like an idiot -_- thank the archons for Ganyu and her missile launcher). The others are awesome, but they don't trap my attention like Scara's does.
Marco I noticed you said tartaglia's theme was like being face to face with a devil or a god and you're absolutely right. I have a theory that tartaglia may be able to go head to head with some of the Archons because of his ability to use two elements. On top of that he was basically raised by the abyss making him more or less a demon, and in his case a demon with a bloodlust
Only the top 3 of the harbringer have actual power who can be compare to some gods. And archons by description have a power who can kill multiple of gods (the archon war). If you talk about like extremely weak venti part yes he could probably just be at best at an equal in full legacy. But agains archon like Raiden or the tsarine he is not even as good to be a warm up.
A review when Apep's theme releases forrealsies and not just the tease in the trailer? Because his theme sounds dope af and, to my uncultured swine ears, very... Spanish 👀
Don't want to compare Saltatio Favillae to themes of Tartaglia and Scaramouche because they are all going for different moods and are all excellent. However, I love Saltatio Favillae the most because of great vocals and its violent and, dare I say, spiteful nature (considering Signora's story and her nature). It also gives me this feel that I am fighting a foe that must be put down here and now due to the threat that they pose.
@@MarcoMeatball it's a world quest boss, you have reacted to it actually. It's called Before the Light Fades. It was in one of your streams where you reacted to all the battle themes.
I'm really curious about your channel's pfp , it looks like boss Marco waiting in the room for the main character to walk in , please tell me the lore behind it
I was gonna ask why you didn't do the regular world bosses too but then remembered that they probably just use regular open world battle music but on a side note I'm surprised so many people here love Childes theme the best personally I don't prefer it as much as the others and only really enjoy it once it's his final phase
Isn’t Thunderings of the Merciless and Almighty Violet Thunder both part of the weekly boss? It just switches to Almighty Violet Thunder when puppet Ei transforms into the battle suit?
Raiden is the only boss in the game were the music adapt to the move she do and to the moment of the fight and have evolve when you go in the story. They had many little détails in the drop beat when you fight her for the first time than in her quest 2 with a constant switch of classic and electric one who dépend if the boss have transfo or not + the Electric part is even more intensified at the "final calamity" part of the boss.
I have seen alot of these type of comment these days. If u think all stuffs in the rating are equally good, then either you just have a very lame personality or too scare of others ppl criticisms, both of these case just dont comment at all, ur making yourself look like an NPC

@@wiruka421 I always enjoy my Mapo Tofu. Thank you.
Do you want my blessing?
@@kotominekirei7330 what does tofu taste like I haven’t tried it before?
Raiden and Scaramouche top tier as they should be 💜
Like mother like son both have sick beats
Azdaha sounds like something taken directly out of a Holst score.
I still remember the childe section of the first genshin concert.
39:17 Without spoiling the story, there is a story cutscene in the archon quest that shows how right you actually are about this.
On top of that, once you have that fight unlocked as a weekly boss domain, his defeated voicelines are "I can't...lose it all again..." and "I was...destined for more..."
My favorite thing about the Osial Theme is not only do you have to dance with the Great Vortex, you also have to dance with the ever changing time signatures from 5/4 to 4/4 to 3/4 to 7/4 to 6/4
i just realised, the new boss in 3.6 means new amazing ost!! so excited
ngl in your streams i enjoy reading Jonah Laining's comments the most, this guy always catches my eyes 😭
Genshin truly peaks with its boss music
My personal favorites are:
1. Bane of Ambitions
2. Chrysalis SUSpirii ඞ
3. Thunderings of the Merciless
my least favorite:
1. Wrath of Unicorn Caeli
2. Symphony of the Boreal Wind
3. Tartaggles first Battle OST
(but tbh the upcoming Apep-Ost is probably going to take at least the 3rd favorite Spot for me. Back then when the Chasm was released this OST was leaked but never released, which was quite sad bcs it was the best Chasm OST by a long shot).
Stream start at 7:44
My experience with the Genshin boss themes has been an interesting one because, the first time I heard: The Dvalin, Andrius, Childe, Osial, and Scaramouche themes, were in-game. While I first heard the Singora, Raiden Shogun, and Azdaha themes before I reached those parts of the game. I definitely prefer to have a fresh and as blind experience as possible with the story and especially boss fights.
52:57 that caught me off-guard while passively listening i literally choked on my drink 💀💀💀
marco creates the best and most epic looking thumbnails
Not me, my fantastic thumbnail creator and artist Raul!
Hi Marco! In one of Doro's latest video's he tried to guess the character through their themes. When I watched it, I immediately thought of you so I wonder if that's something you'd want to try as well
Interesting! could be fun.
Didn't expect the SSS Raiden shogun, not that it is a problem though
This is definitely one of the most chaotic streams I’ve ever seen
good
yes! i love these list vids
You know for some reason I haven’t read your channel description, it goes hard Marco.

Definitely didn't expect RogersBase dropping in the stream lmaooo
A review when Apep's theme releases forrealsies and not just the tease in the trailer? Because his theme sounds dope af and, to my uncultured swine ears, very... Spanish 👀
18:28 Fortniteerrormemeyeet truly is the email of all time.
Sad that there is no Marana's Avatar boss theme. It was very unique
who?
@@MarcoMeatball it's a world quest boss, you have reacted to it actually. It's called Before the Light Fades. It was in one of your streams where you reacted to all the battle themes.
The internet was against Marco this stream.
It's impossible for me to rank the themes, I just can't. Buuut if I have to pick, I choose Scara's theme even if Childe is one of my fav characters :D
I feel very sad becuz both of La signora & Sacra's themes have really sad storyline underneath ..
🥲
I can't wait for the next harbinger in the plot (Arlecchino)
it’s not sandrone?
I'm really curious about your channel's pfp , it looks like boss Marco waiting in the room for the main character to walk in , please tell me the lore behind it
Wonderful vid to do art with
Curious why Osial was B doe
I was gonna ask why you didn't do the regular world bosses too but then remembered that they probably just use regular open world battle music but on a side note I'm surprised so many people here love Childes theme the best personally I don't prefer it as much as the others and only really enjoy it once it's his final phase
All boss battle themes are S-tier LOL
TRUE
ranking music is actually blasphemy, but it is a good excuse to listen to some great themes again^^
Tartaglia first phase still the best
pls do more genshin vedio
Isn’t Thunderings of the Merciless and Almighty Violet Thunder both part of the weekly boss? It just switches to Almighty Violet Thunder when puppet Ei transforms into the battle suit?
Yep the music switch with the battle and when she do her "final calamity" its always go to the Electric part at this moment with the guitar
Where would you put the "guardian of the last oasis" themes on the list ?
How can I tell Marco to turn up the music when I miss the stream? >:(
But scaramouche theme is the best
I think my personal order is Scaramouche>Andrius>Raiden Shogun>Azhdaha.
I'm a little confused, is'nt the ranking at the end with Raiden and Raiden Shogun switched?
I guess so the ranking doesn't matter though
What is name song first video

Currently at you're doorstep cuz you said signora theme isn't SSS+ tier. Seriously raiden and scara theme isn't that good its overrated.
Subjective ;)
scara’s theme isn’t overrated, it’s just that good.
Raiden is the only boss who have those characteristics in the game. That why for me she s the top 1 character in everything.
I have seen alot of these type of comment these days. If u think all stuffs in the rating are equally good, then either you just have a very lame personality or too scare of others ppl criticisms, both of these case just dont comment at all, ur making yourself look like an NPC
Are you calling me an NPC? lol.
Where's Yu-Peng Chen boss theme? Also currently saving for his and Dvořák banner.
