Resident Evil Village is set three years after the events of Resident Evil 7. Ethan Winters returns as the protagonist. Ethan has been living with his wife Mia and newborn daughter Rosemary when Chris Redfield and his men suddenly appears, murders his wife in cold blood and kidnaps him, with his baby daughter, to a mysterious European village located in Transylvania, Romania, given the currency used and the names of characters.[8][7][9] Ethan has to traverse the village to rescue Rosemary.[9] The village is governed by four different mutant lords, each controlling their own forces from strongholds within the village. Lady Alcina Dimitrescu,[b] an extremely tall vampire-like aristocrat, resides with her three daughters and others at Castle Dimitrescu. Karl Heisenberg leads a group of werewolf-like creatures from a contemporary factory. Salvatore Moreau operates from a reservoir in close proximity to the village and is described as a "merman". Donna Beneviento rules from her mansion, House Beneviento, and controls a puppet named Angie. All houses respond to the deity-like figure Mother Miranda, the ruler of the village who is a "presence worshipped by the villagers.
With scary games like this one, I like to let scenes run a little longer to keep the viewer on their toes. I don't want you to know that everytime I cut you should be expecting something to pop up and happen, so instead it feels better to let the tension build at times. This game was an excellent successor to Resident Evil 7. The setting and story can be a bit outlandish, even for Resident Evil, but that doesn't matter. It's all fun. We hope you get a chance to play for yourself and we hope you enjoy the game movie!

With scary games like this one, I like to let scenes run a little longer to keep the viewer on their toes. I don't want you to know that everytime I cut you should be expecting something to pop up and happen, so instead it feels better to let the tension build at times. This game was an excellent successor to Resident Evil 7. The setting and story can be a bit outlandish, even for Resident Evil, but that doesn't matter. It's all fun. A bittersweet thing I realized is that even though Ethan died when Rose was a baby, she has the mold memory storage of him. So, while technically never meeting her dad, she knows all about him.

This is just my opinion, but I think that Ethan deserved a far better love interest than Mia. Even before she was revealed as a worker of Umbrella, she just felt off to me. From her facial reactions, to her secrecy even in RE8...idk, I just feel like Ethan deserved better.

From what we can see in RE7 and RE8, Capcom just goes different approach with RE. it getting re-marketed towards horror genre instead of zombie apocalypse genre. More like Silent Hill instead of Left 4 Dead.

Heck, I doubt this is the last time we see Ethan. We saw Eveline die and still existed. Ethan die the same way as Eveline death, their mold gets withered. But just like Eveline, big chance Ethan still existed somewhere.

I thought the game itself was fun, the atmosphere good, and the villains entertaining. But, in common Capcom fashion, the voice acting is shit, how the plot progresses is contrived, and there are many “Why the _fuck_ are you doing something so stupid?” which is characteristic of bad writing.
Like, I hate Ethan as a character in this game since he’s the worst culprit of those negative aspects, but I’ve still played through the game three times now because it’s a lot of fun when you turn your brain off to the story ( just like RE5 *as long as you had a co-op friend* )
@@Kyle_Schaff RE5 was plenty fun without coop. Just don't give sheva your healing items and stack lots of ammo on her. If anything she made the game too easy for acting as a pack mule for an armory of bullets and once you unlock any infinite gun and give it to her then the game officially has no difficulty that can challenge you anymore as the ai is actually quite competent at shooting, but uses too much ammo normally.

1. Dimitrescu is a Vampiric Dragon/Gargoyle.
2. Dimitrescu Daughters are swarms of Mosquito.
3. Beneviento is a Voodooist.
4. Moreau is The Host's Monster
5. Heisenberg is a Magneto then a Transformer.
There are definitely influences of gothic literature and early movie monsters at play here. Dimitrescu and the daughters is a play on Dracula and his three brides, Moreau is based on the Island of Dr. Moreau which involved human-animal hybrids. Heisenburg is clearly inspired from Dr. Frankenstein with his mechanical monsters based on science (can't explain where he becomes telepathic).. There are lycans all throughout which are obviously inspired by the Wolfman. The Doll-Bitch was completely lame and probably should've been based on the Phantom of the Opera and used any tricks and traps in her section or based on the Invisible Man and you would have to use environmental ques to gauge his/her presence.

2. She is also a hundred years old, her daughter died of the Spanish Flu.
3. Eveline was a clone of that same daughter
4. Ethan died being welcomed into the family and was a moulded this entire time.
5. The BSAA is now using the very weapons that they were supposed to stop.
6. This is the first game where Chris didn’t lose his team

Golden chainsaw for coolest kill goes to, honestly? Ethan Winters. Narrowly beating Lady Dimetrescu, the twist he has been dead since game 7, and his heart being ripped out, ending with the heartbreaking sacrifice at the end. I really see very few other options.

This might be my least favorite Resident Evil game.

@@mr.checkyourself4672 Yeah, if thats your favorite, then pretty much anything after RE4 is just not your thing. RE3 was the last of the "survival" game in the franchise, with RE7 is the closest to it later.
@@tigera6 Resident Evil haven't been Resident Evil since Code Veronica since I'm a fan of the RE franchise I still play every installment you a new era RE fan which why you indifferent.
Is it just me or the Monster of the Story in the Village of Shadow books is foreshadowing the Four Noble and the purpose Ethan would fight his way for :
1. The Bat Lord is Alcina Dimitrescu. Since she is a Vampire. Her Dragon-like form looks like a Gargoyle.
2. The Dark Weaver is Donna Beneviento. Since she control all the Dolls inside her house.
3. The Fish King is Salvatore Moreau. Since it would foreshadowing his ability to control the Swamp and swim underwater.
4. The Iron Steed is Karl Heisenberg. Since he was a Mix between Mutant and Machine.
5. The Witch is Miranda herself. Since she took an appearance of a Black Fallen Angel.
6. The Little Girl is Rosemary. Foreshadowing how Miranda took Rose away from Ethan.
7. The Girl Mother is Mia. Forshadowing how she was actually kidnapped and the "Mia" that stay with Ethan is none other than Miranda herself.
Remembering this story from the beginning made me think mother Miranda was Mia come back in a different form. When I saw the music box in the beneviento house. Turns out I was kinda right at the end.
