🌟 DESCRIPTION🌟
In the years following Ethan Winters' sacrifice, his daughter Rosemary has survived in protective custody, but her status as a Mutant has left her an outcast and she is perceived as a freak by other children. At the age of 16, Rose gains access to a surviving piece of the Black God - the mycorrhiza which thrived in Eastern Europe - and seeks to use it to forever suppress her powers and live her life as a human. During her attempt, her mind interacts with the Black God and she begins to see scattered memories of the humans it has consumed and archived over the centuries. During this hallucinatory experience, Rose encounters her own doppelgänger, and is drawn away by an hallucinatory figure called "Michael", who promises to find her what she needs. She also encounters the Black God's memories of people such as the Duke, who take on a darker tone compared with their real world counterparts.

I really feel sorry for Eveline. I know she made a LOT OF TERRIBLE things, but she grew up in a laboratory, she could never understand the concept of love or worse, feel it. She was lusting for love, like a 7 year old would do and without love, only hatred and envy will have place in her heart. For all eternity she will have these feelings and never get her closoure.

I'm so impressed with how they tied this into the ending to village and made it fit so perfectly. They can make some amazing stories when the put the time and effort into it. Had me tearing up a few times there

so the ethan easter egg on the post credit scene in RE8 was just a teaser for the DLC .... but it to lighten things up Ethan is now with rose as part of her powers as we see from the end of the DLC Ethan gave his life force to Rose to Amplify the powers .... if there will be a main game about Rose we'll see Ethan assisting her on it.

54:30 is so relatable because after I was diagnosed with autism and ADHD people kept treating me like I’m slow and as if I was a special Ed mistake as they call me when I’m not I still have grudges to this day and I’m still haunted by the past that happened 7 years ago and I’m 20 despite me having a job and going to university I still feel defeat because all I wanted was to make friends in school only to get treated like I’m subhuman I lost the friends I used to have before this but they ditched me because they wanted to fit in with the others 😢

4:11 the force is strong within this one. Still love how RE8 has so much RE4 vibes. Literally the Rose clones are like clone troopers in Star Wars and Rose’s abilities make her a force wielder lol. I also wouldn’t expect merchant boy to be bad…what a twist, but it’s a clone of the real deal Duke. I feel like this game also has references to other horror games as well. Love how they brought back Eve and added more to her side of the story and overall RE7 and RE8’s story. Ethan is the best character and is such a caring person to do whatever he can to help Rose. Nice story between father and daughter and it ends with the ending we’ve seen before at the end of RE8. RE9 seems to be focusing on Chris and Rose and her powers I suppose.

My theory was somewhat correct. I guessed that everyone infected with the mold were in their own little world. Whenever the Duke talked about the crystallized remains of the Lords, it sounded as though he was saying their soul was still alive.
What if Zoey had the same power but lost control so she crystallized herself??? New possible theory confirmed????

No, it was confirmed in the DLC with Joe Baker and her that she was crystalized due to Eveline being destroyed as she was still technically infected with the mould. It wasn't until Joe defeated what was left of Jack after he returned from being crystalized after given the serum by Ethan, that Zoe was returned back to normal and also given the serum.

IF THATS NOT BASED I DON'T KNOW WHAT IS
So... the chunk of megamycete is Miranda's bastion, the last remainder of her left with the eradication of the rest of the colony, which explains some stuff. Why none of the other bosses are around? Miranda didn't want them here. Why is the Duke evil and wearing a mask? Because Miranda made up her own Duke. Why is there a bunch of Rose's in the dungeons being horribly murdered? Because Miranda made up her own Rose clones and killing them is the only way to make them conjure some power.
But why is Eveline here? Miranda mentions she snuck in but how? Did she do that before the megamycete core was blown to bits? Did she hitch a ride through Rose? What about Ethan? How did he end up in here? Was he there the whole time or was he in Rose and her delving into the chunk what let him manifest there?
If Miranda wanted Rose to just take the crystal and lose all her powers why didn't she just give Rose the crystal in the first place? Without being empowered through the various strata she wouldn't have been able to fight back against Miranda at the ending.
Neat DLC but REALLY disappointed we didn't get more from the Four Lords.
Well, it does make sense that the four Lords would not show up, they are far less connected to the Megamyced as Miranda. Not to mention Miranda saw them as Pawns so she would not manifest them in these realm regardless. As for Evilin, she showed up by basicly default because both Mia and Ethan were infected by her Strain of the Mold, meaning her mind is permanently attached to Rose.
Also the second reason Miranda would never resurrect the four Lords is that, exept Lady D, they would cause more problems instead. Moreau is a idiot and can't control his Powers, Donna is just a mental wreck and Heisenberg activly hates Miranda.
@@plinfan6541 Sure but the whole point of the first stratum is just murdering Rose clones 24/7 in horrible ways to see if any of them can use mold magic. Miranda could've just had them up there out of her way doing their bullshit, the same way she really didn't care about Eveline being in the second stratum because it's not an issue for her.
Plus it would've been interesting to see how their opinions may or may not have changed now that they're in mushroom hell for eternity.
I think miranda wanted to lure rose to the deepest stratum because its her "domain" giving her homefield advantage

Really man. Out of all of the great lore and science based concepts that RE has given us through the years, the best they can do to rid Rose of her powers is a 'purifying crystal"? That's the most watered down basic mcguffin I've ever seen in this franchise.
Its a tad silly, I agree.
Best explanation I've got is that since the entire DLC takes place within the mold and the mold is capable of storing consciousness, the entire thing is a struggle between the last people still in there. Miranda needed a way to get Rose to willingly relinquish her powers so (through illusory K) she put the idea of a "purifying crystal" in her head.
A quick fix to a problem; something that would appeal to a child. A way to convince her to give up her powers through an object that never actually existed.
Just be grateful Miranda didn’t make her “earn” the crystal via Chocobo race

Since Rose is easily the most powerful being in the whole franchise, I wonder what they will do with her. It won't make sense if they suddenly create a more powerful enemy only to give Rose some competitions. I hope they just start the new series with a new character in the next chapter and Rose remains as a some kind of watcher/God like being who can offer some minimal help if requested.

Also I can't believe the DLC to make me cry. Unexpected but it was just that good of a story.
Cool! I think it's great they're making new characters for the Resident Evil franchise and I think Rose will fit right in. It's nice to know the good guys will have somebody powerful on their side. But it does make me wonder, just how will this who franchise end? I mean, you'd think that they would have run out of ideas, but they're still finding ways to continue the story. Through movies and video games. Even if some have been lackluster, like going full action in RE5 and RE6 rather than survival horror, I can't help but have respect for this franchise being so diverse. I mean, regardless of the change in tone, I still had a lot of fun in co-up when playing RE5 and RE6. And isn't that the point of playing games? And then RE7 came along and gave us a survival horror game again. And it helps that they set it in a much smaller (But still large enough) location that makes you feel trapped. I can't wait to see what future Resident Evil stories we will see from now.

Epic battle between Rose vs. Miranda.
The relationship between a father and daughter are extraordinarily important. Personally, I always find those to be more sentimental because in this society fathers are more likely to be treated as a second-class citizen- which is absolutely wrong and they deserve to be as much of a parent as the mother is *especially* if they have every good intention to be in their daughter's lives.
We may enter the world through a mother's womb but a father's love and support is what guides us too.
