My vinyl Tag response to the 20 questions posed by Rob (thanks Rob) here: • VINYL COMMUNITY. THE V... Three channels I highlight are here: / @jtsrecordroom3963 / @mikevinylspiral / @seizebreizh
Hello Dale, thanks for mentioning my channel 😮. As I was uploading my Vinyl Tag video, I was preparing a tea for myself and I thought it was a good idea to watch an English entry to the theme, which would be perfect to be in a mood for the tea… well… I didn’t expect to be part of the cast. Thanks. I don’t have any Mathew Halsall record. I am interested, though. And I put Hanna Rani in my wantlist as well. I heard of her music on BandCamp but didn’t take any albums from her. I like the album. I lik the diversity of your selection. My way to go to music is similar. I don’t know where you live in UK but it seems we have terrible weather in the same moment… take care. Bruno
Hi Bruno - I always enjoy your videos. I highly recommend you listen to Matthew Halsall and Hania Rani. Both are very soothing and hopefully not too tame for you. I hope the weather has calmed, take care Dale
Hi Dale, thanks very much for the shoutout. I really like how diverse your collection is. Portishead was going to be my 90s classic, but I do have a great backup choice. Hatfield and the North are on my want list also. I'll probably post my video later today. Happy New year, Mike
Hi Dale - Very good video. I really like the look of your dinner party. I would fly across the ocean for that one, if only for Kate. I do have that Simon and Garfunkel record. You picked a great 90's classic 🙂
Hi Brian - I think I might be a bit overwhelmed if Kate came to dinner but would always regret it if I didn't invite her (she'd be upset too I think). Cheers Dale
Some great picks 👌 that building a new town pressing looks stunning definitely adding to my watch list you advertise it well! Literally only just started getting into Bert Jansch yesterday for the first time so found it funny to see him on your list as well! And your 💯 right about that Simon Garfunkel album being in everyone’s collection, I’ve got it, I like it but I can’t even remember how it got there 😂
Thanks for watching. Bert Jansch has an extensive catalogue but most is high quality so there's plenty to explore. Doesn't the S&G get issued at birth? cheers Dale
You've shown a number of artists I know nothing about so it's great to be introduced to them in this tag. Nancy Sinatra is a very interesting dinner guest and I think you are the first tag I've seen so far mentioning Burt Bacharach passing in 2023. What a legend he was. That Countryside Calling album looks very interesting. Enjoyed watching. Thanks.
Great response to this year's tag. I'd like to hear the trumpet record by Matthew Halsall. And Countryside Calling - I'll bet that's really interesting. Good call with Ziggy Stardust; it really seems like they could all be hits. Rock on!
I love the way you described Building a New Town and that vinyl is beautiful. Gang of Four Solid Gold excellent. The football question….could also have been an attraction to Sky Blue. Loved Martin O’Neil and what he brought to the game. Singles from the decades….nice. Kate and Nancy…..you’re incorrigible Dale😁 Yes I enjoyed the Wankers video as well. Excellent classic from Portishead. Ziggy of course. You have an amazing collection Dale and I love watching your videos. Keep them coming. Mike
Hi Mike, you might be right with the sky blue attraction. I read Martin O'Neill's autobiography last year - what a wonderful book. I was so pleased how fondly he spoke of his time at Wycombe, he was a god to me during that period. Cheers Dale
@@gatefold33 with that Brian Clough pedigree, I thought he, Martin, was going to become one of the very best managers in the country/world, I don’t know why he isn’t still around?
Hey Dale, great response. Nancy surely has some great stories to tell. I need to get that Portishead album. Zingy was a great pick. I only have The Rotters Club, but would love to find the one you purchased. Cheers.
Hey Jack, Portishead's Dummy is an essential album for any collection in my view. I prefer Rotters Club to the self-titled but both are very good. Cheers Dale
Hi Dale Lovely copy of Avocet, that's a Bert album I really need. I really wanted that Kirchin Soundtrack but lo and behold they've all sold out!!..Trunk releases are so bloody frustrating!!!!. I agree with you on Bruno, he always shows interesting records. Ghosts sounds like a lovely listen. Great choice with Ziggy..but absolutely most songs could've easily have been singles. Nice one finding Hatfield and the North, a great left field listen...I need Rotters Club, wow what a coup finding both together!. Great tag response, and happy new year ( again).
Hi Rob, as soon as I get the Friday emails from Jonny Trunk and see a new album I tend to buy immediately as I'm rarely disappointed by what he puts out. Ghosts is a lovely listen. Both Hatfield and the North albums together was an amazingly lucky find. Happy New Year to you too, Cheers Dale
Hi Dale. I missed out on that Warrington Runcorn EP, though I do have some of his earlier releases. Ooh I was going to name Robert Wyatt as a dinner guest so will think of someone else now. Good choice for 'sounds like a greatest hits.' You were lucky to find an original of Hatfield and the North (and Rotters Club.) I've just bought an (unofficial) re-issue. Best wishes for 2024!
Hi john - just about to watch your tag. I was very lucky to find the two Hatfield and the North albums together and had no hesitation in grabbing them. Best wishes for 2024 to you too!
Hi Dale. I'm very slowly getting around the tags. Warrington Runcorn Development Plan is quite a name for an artist. I still drive past Runcorn when I head back to my mum's house from Lancaster...when I was a kid I used to hate going to an antiques fair there on a Sunday, which was my parents' want. There is quite a spectacular industrial estate there which runs right alongside the M56, with belching chimneys and blast furnaces going at it. Sorry, didn't mean for my entire comment to be about Runcorn. I'm sure Robert Wyatt and Kate Bush would get along like a house on fire. I love that first Gilmour LP. Happy new year.
Hi James I hope 2024 has begun well for you too - We used to have an office in Warrington, so I've been there a few times but never Runcorn. I bet you'd like to revisit those childhood antique fairs now to see what records might have been available? Cheers Dale
Hi Dale, just watched you vid - Nancy showing her boots again, she sure knew how to market her albums. Ziggy as a 'greatest hits' album is spot-on, all killer. Hope to see you at an Andover fair this year - maybe as a seller if you want to try that for the cull. Best regards, Richard.
Yes I’ve shown that Bob Stanley Northern comp, got some great tracks, & is starting to fetch a fair price now. Btw he’s got a comp coming out in Ace Records called ‘Fantastic Voyage’ 70’s Electronic stuff. It looks brilliant. I’m Definitely up for that Sound of Hampshire & Isle Of Wight, I’m starting to collect Southampton themed records so that would fit in.
Hi Harris. Yes I've got the next Bob Stanley comp on pre-order. It's a part two to a similar comp from a few years ago that was very strong. Hope you find the Hampshire record...
Nice response Dale, but only 7 or 8 unlistened to albums... amateur! The two Coral albums - I showed those too - excellent albums, especially the second as you said. Glad you came to your senses and chose the 70s over the 80s. Don't worry, however much you investigate the music of the 80s there'll only ever be a tiny percentage of good albums compared to the 70s 😊. Lovely copy of Avocet BTW. Ah, nothing like the joys of wstching non-league football - the premier league glory hunters don't know what they're missing. Snap no 1 Mazzy's Wankers - goid fun, but oh so true - and snap 2 Ziggy (though I showed it as the answer to another question). Great pickups of the Hatfields - wonderful albums. Cheers...Pete
That's 7 or 8 2023 new releases Pete. I'm ashamed to say I have hundreds of albums I have yet to listen to overall...I was very lucky with the Hatfields finds...cheers Dale
@@gatefold33 I'll let you off then. At least you have the courage to show some of your un-listened to LPs behind you in your videos - I daren't show mine!
Great selection, Dale. I was so close to picking Mazzy's wankers video and Dummy for the 90s. I have a friend who's into Hania Rani. I should really check her out. Happy new year
Great tag. I really need to get some Gang of Four records. For some reason, they have escaped my purchasing through the years. I liked your showing of 45's through the decades. I would love to meet Nancy Sinatra and Kate Bush. I loved Mazzy's wanker video as well.
There was a song called acceptable in eighties so it's come back round again for us TOTPopsters. It was the uncoolest decade and i was jealous of missing out on the previous ones thats my theory at least if that makes sense? I reckon i saw Aylesbury Vs. The Chairboys about a dozen times over the years though last time i saw 'The Ducks' was about 15 years ago (technically as well one went up the leagues whereas the other slid down and plays elsewhere) so probably we were at the same matches. I kinda forgive you for the Citeh because they were cooler to support pre money and at Maine Road too. Johnny Trunk talks alot so to get a word in edgeways is quite difficult, like myself at times has concentration of a goldfish. Portishead oh yeah forgot about that one.....
Chairboys are struggling a bit this season but hopefully will stay mid-table. I think our backer is pulling out soon (he's not mega rich though). I get the impression Jonny trunk likes to tell a story or two...
Hey, I did one 7" per decade as well! If the choice was either only English music OR everything but English music, what would you go with? For me, if that question was about music from the USA, I'd take the rest of the world without a second thought.
I'm sure it's a case of great minds think alike Chris...Wow that question would be harder! I think I might change and go for the rest of the world but with a very heavy heart...cheers Dale
Dillions channel you have to watch and be careful, in the past he has cost me a lot of money, I got all my Zamrock from him. Very dangerous person. Nice cover to walk into, I walked into naked motorcycle riders lol.
Hi Dale - great response and channel! Happy to come across it on the thread. That Hatfield and the North is just brilliant stuff. Cheers!
Thanks I was extremely lucky to find both Hatfield and the North albums together. Cheers Dale

Great response to this year's tag. I'd like to hear the trumpet record by Matthew Halsall. And Countryside Calling - I'll bet that's really interesting. Good call with Ziggy Stardust; it really seems like they could all be hits. Rock on!

Happy New Year Chris, I'll try and keep the videos coming in 2024...cheers Dale
I enjoyed the unique records you showed. The first album has beautiful artwork on the cover. 😊
Thanks Catherine he has put out several albums with great artwork related to urban re-development...not your average subject matter...cheers Dale

Looking forward to seeing more of JT's digs in 2024
