Hi Nick. I'm planning on getting this in elrs. I have a module for my controller and my goggles atr the fatshark scout goggles. Will this setup work if I pair it all? I'll be looking for the mockingbird tune too. Thanks for the 10 min flight.
Awesome. Thanks. This gives me added confidence in a future elrs build I will attempt as well. It will be my first build. Happy holidays to you and yours.
Just found this guy and I love his style... No BS, straight to the point, and 100% useful info delivered at a fast pace (so I don't lose interest or fall asleep lmao)
I love to see that these small drones actually offer the same possibilities as the large variants, all the information needed to make an informed decision is covered, so what more could you want from a review!
Would you mind if i asked you a question, with this drone with 1000mW ELRS built in what options do i have for goggles on the cheap do you know, have a real tight budget
Feels like if you tossed that in a happymodel mobula7 v 4 frame it would be a pretty sweet 75mm whoop. 2” version with a 2” prop would be amazing, basically your race rocket build
@@KOrnhOliO1 Good point! Though I think with how spoiled we've gotten on camera and vtx options since then it would be painful to fly through that old aio camera setup now. Still, it would probably be fun!
@@sixtofive thinking the same thing I am..lol I have a set of 08028 16000kv motors and now im thinking they may actually be decent for a light 1s build for flytime. HMMMM. These flywoo motors are probably wayyy better though (and my 08028 weigh like 2.5 grams lol)
This is so cool. I have a tomoquad sidewinder in 2.5” that I put a naked vista digital system on and with a 3s 650mha batt I get 8 min. With the vista system it’s 93g with battery it’s 145g. When I had analog video on it i was getting 12 min The future is in these little micros
Just wanted to say, that your channel is one of my favorites. I have 10 5" quads, but have built and purchased 10 or so sub 250 quads! I am hooked on these little rockets!
@@NickBurnsFPV Nick, I have one question on the Flywoo Firefly and all other small 1S quads flying with HV battery. When I fly my 1s quads like the UR65 with 0603 motors, the new batteries sag to around 3.7 volts when starting out. I fly them to 3.3 volts which rebound to 3.4. Is this to low for these batteries? I get around 1.5 minutes on a typical flight. Any advice?
@@parker1ray 3.4 is likely okay. Ideally, long term we would want to store the batteries at 3.85v. Our 1s batteries don't age well, are the batteries firm and flat? That would be a good battery otherwise its likely past its peak performance. Also the ph2.0 connector on the quad does wear down over time. I suspect if we replace it, some flight time will come back...maybe a lot.
John, how are you liking this quad 5 months in? I like deadcat frames and long flight times. Seems like it would be right up my alley. Best regards from Brasilia, Brazil.
@@sganzerlag I am still happy with it. 👍I did a little video of this quad on my channel as well. I also used it with insta360go2 on it to do some filming indoors for some local businesses, it takes great video for its size and weight.
I just ordered one and i was wondering if i put prop gruad and change the camera angle will it be flayable inside ? Thanks for the nice detailed review !
I'm new to the FPV hobby and I don't know anything about binding or connecting the goggles. I prefer analog, what goggles and radio should I buy to connect most of the fpv quad also what receiver should I purchase ( please recommend on a budget ) please help me with your suggestion. Reply and suggestion from experts like you helps me to grow in knowledge every day Nice review BTW
I like the small game pad style of radio, its the jumper t-lite with the 4 in 1 module. This will bind to most if not all our fpv quads. Goggles tend to be more expensive part of the hobby, most on a budget will go with box style googles. The cobra x are likely the best in the group but there are many many others, a much less expensive box goggle is the eachine DM800.
Good question, not sure, I did notice the telemetry for the receiver would drop out late in the flights, I am wondering if that is a voltage supply issue.
Another home run for Flywoo it looks like... and @ 20.4g another good reason to hang on to your analog goggles;-) Sweet... almost 10 grams lighter than the Tiny Hawk with way better props and a relatively slippery airframe.
Loving the way all small 1S craft are going, The Nazgul was on a hair trigger but this is going to end up in the fleet I feel! PJC/PMB rock! Cheers, Nick!
Really have been hoping some company would do there own take the the TKS Rocket Race, I have deferred the talks to Kevin, several have shown interest but nothing on the market yet.
As far as heat index goes I don't think it adds up for drones. Because they don't sweat. So just straight temperature effects it. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I like that it is only 1S, but that doesn't tell me if the "S" is Lipo or Lion. There are some appropriately sized small Lion cells I'd like to pair with a quad like this (14500 cell, 900mA) that are fine being taken down to 2.5-2.7V. Or at least they'll last longer than I need them to. But often the flight controllers brown out below ~3V. I see that this FC has a 5V BEC. Is that actually a boost converter (sometimes they aren't). Can you plug in a Lion cell and see how low a voltage it will operate with (just a long hover test would do it) ?
On my channel is pretty much all lipo. In traditional fpv quads we only use lion for long range slow cruising flight. I have a video coming out testing the voltage basement.
@nick burns I saw the hq tri props u have on are not sitting all the way on the shaft if you drilled 1mm hole all the way thru and let prop all the way down, better handling
Yep. I do my best not to make modifications in reviews, unless its a build. So many miss various details in videos, declared modifications seem to create as much confusion as help.
hi nick, i remove elrs went back to spi d8 built in ..having difficulty in binding with both my transmitter... i did attached ufl antenna the smaller one
On the elrs we are using a full uart, meaning...rx1 and tx1, cross wired rx to tx and tx to rx? We can also use rx2 and tx2, or rx3 and tx3, they just need to be the same number.
Hi nick, I'm quite new at this hobby so I'm not an expert 😞 I noticed that many drone pilots use Google's and fpv, but I find it a hustle. I was wondering if there's a tablet or small TV I can view my flights real time 🤔🤔🤔🤔 cheers 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗❤️❤️❤️
@@NickBurnsFPV ohhhhh well: it's a little you version called eachine e110. Another brand is making the c127 sentry. Obviously they are limited but nonetheless are interesting.
I would take this. It opens up our battery choices and flight times. We could put on tri blade or even quad blade if we want more thrust at the cost of flight time.
I think the baby nazgul has a better pid tune, but it also restricted with the size of battery without a mod. The flight time difference should be apparent.
Hi, I have a problem with the drone, but not all my LEDs work, only a small red one goes and only makes a beep! He has to make 4 beeps and he doesn't ... Please help me and tell me what it has or how I can reset it! I'm using a FlySky i6 and it's not even connected to the drone because I don't know how to connect it and I can't find a tutorial on google!
How do you bind this to a controller through betaflight. I got the radio lite 3 with elrs built in. Was wondering how you bind them together. New to the fpv. Thanks. And you helped me decide to order this after seeing your video.
There is a few things, but this is far from all if the radio and the reciever aren't on the same major versions of elrs 2.x.x. There is button in betaflight on the receiver page to activate the binding on the radio. Then activate the bind on the radio. We may have to change the packet packet rate or power (mw) to get them to bind, both needs to match on both sides. Then we have all that and it sitll won't bind we have to look at updating both the radio and the rx. Keep in mind during this process you do not have to flash betaflight and if you feel you do please make a backup to the drone configuration. Backup process: with drone connected via usb, in betaflight configuration go to the cli tab and type "diff", save that output to a file. I also like to have a full backup with the command "dump" and save that output to a file.
@@90dubie unfortunately with work, family etc I don't have much extra time. Do you know what version of elrs is on your radio? Need to know this first then we know what to flash on the receiver side.
I wonder how it would fly with a triblade. When I get one I think I will probably replace that battery strap with a one of my extra TH2 battery rubber bands.
I bought this based on your review. Had one flight in horizon mode, tried to plug it back in to unlock acro mode. Not sure what happened but now I get no video and it won’t go into bind mode anymore. Not sure what I did but it’s basically a blinking brick now.
Oh that isn't normal. When you "unlock arcro mode" do you recall what steps you took? Is it possible the video channel is now different than the other flight? Did you flash betaflight by chance?
At least with a ufl connector for the vtx on this aio board switch out the vtx antenna is an easy task. Do you think there might be enough clearance to spin 48 mm props for a little more punch?
We might be able to, I am not finding my 48mm triblades. Looks like it will be very close at the usb port. I measured with calipers. We only have 4mm between prop and canopy at the usb port, we can get another 1.5mm if we trim the canopy portion somehow.
Really enjoyed that one Nick! Would have liked an indoor flight of that little guy. Definately want to treat myself with one. Looking forward to see what project mockingbird conjures up, for sure!!
Ditto to the comment below; you do look great, Nick! I guess I had not noticed until now. Congratulations! T'ain't an easy thing to do. Love the way this little guy flies (with your hand on the stick), minor annoyances of the tune aside. On that first flight, when you lifted off and then reversed with a cute little snap roll thrown in, this drone had me, for sure. A PJC tune in the works as well? Sold! Project Mockingbird stuff is awesome. Thanks so much Nick, for the review and for sharing the fun of this little drone with us.
Hi Nick, Just received mine yesterday the version 1.2 and not the RF version. Do you happen to have a the CLI for your tune? I’d be interested in trying it out. Thanks 🙏
I just bought this drone, the flywoo firefly nano baby 1s and I am wandering how to bind it? I got it with the expresslrs receiver and I tried using betaflight to enter bind mode but there is no bind button in the receiver tab, pls help
What radio? Is the radio ELRS? What version of ELRS is the radio on? What version ELRS is the receiver on? they both have to be the same major version...major being the first number of the number.
@@NickBurnsFPV so I was able to get it bound, I have the beta fpv literadio 2 se with internal expresslrs 2.4ghz , i was able to get it flying and it flies great except one factor…. I could NOT seem to get it into acro mode. It seems to only have angle and horizon even when I dont select either of those (hoping it defaults to acro) and still it’s not allowing me full control of the drone for freestyle tricks. I started from the meteor 65 and have kind of hit a barrier for ability and am looking for a perfect (preferably 1s) drone. I always watch any videos you have on a drone I’m looking at because you are by far the best at explaining and making it entertaining. Do you think I will find what I’m lookin for in this drone? Or do you have a better recommendation for a little ripper bnf elrs drone. I’m almost thinking I’m not ever gonna get the performance I expect or desire from a 1s I need a rocket race🥵😑😫
@@devinlloyd6044 acro mode is actually a mode, but rather a lack of being in angle or horizon mode. So to be in acro we have to make sure we aren't in angle or horizon mode. We likely need to decrease the amount of the the switch space each mode is taking. The sliders can be decreased by dragging the ends in the mod tab to narrower positions. 1 is limited in performance, I can't be sure what sort of performance you're looking for. I suggest flying for awhile with what you have rather than quickly moving on to other quads. As our skills develop we become more attune to the available performance.
I had a bad adventure, updating the firefly 1s esc, I burned them, at least this is what they replied, asking the flywoo technical service, in the manual it is not forbidden to do so, this embitters me very much. I got a link that suggests me to try to solve by restoring the esc via the C2 interface and arduino nano, what do you think? I'd like to have your opinion. thank you
I have not tried to restore via the interface. I have heard from others who have. If we have the arduino its worth a shot. I don't suspect the esc is burned, typically the vtx or rx is what gets burned if its on for long without air flow/flight.
For expresslrs we do need an expresslrs tx module for our radio. For outside flying I would likely choose this, for inside the moblite7. The moblite7 doesn't fly as well as this outside with the typical wind I have in my area.
So sad that this is out of stock. :( I wonder if they'll do another production run.... (In the meantime I've been eyeing the parts to build it myself....) Awesome vid Nick! You made this little guy look like so much fun!!
Lets start with what is available. Here are two videos to view and take in the information. th-cam.com/video/Za7TIsFpbd0/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/q7vfj2-guMo/w-d-xo.html
Since you land at 3.5 do you charge directly when your done everyday? I was always under the impression you didn’t want to leave them outside 3.7-3.9 range for long so I always try to land and settle around 3.8.....of course my flight times are a lil shorter though too.
Lipos always recover higher than what you land at. I land my 1s around 3.2. To be honest, I wouldn't worry too much about 1s batts. They're so cheap you can just fly them into the ground 😮
So if I ordered the express elrs version, what do I need for my Jumper T lite to get it to bind. I know you have done a ton on express elrs but I guess I haven't learned much about it, probably because I hate change, not ever going to crossfire but this elrs is sounding like a possible for me. What is the best video to learn more about elrs that's not too technical?
The jumper t-lite has a elrs module from happmodule. We do have to take the radio a part to fit the wiring for the backpack, its a no solder connection. The backpack then is the attachment point for the ELRS module. From there we need to flash the tx module I cover that here th-cam.com/video/1w6uk3jUnJs/w-d-xo.html
Got mine in the mail yesterday - was getting terrible video signal. Noticed that the antenna connector is sitting right on the carbon frame - threw some electrical tape underneath it and it’s much better. Still seeing some odd light whitish horizontal scan lines. Anyone else having similar issues? Wish it was ready to go out of the box…
Thanks Nick had one ordered by the end of the video, this one looks like fun, with ELRS and great flight times it should only be limited by the video for some easy cruising around the park. But a PJ Clarke Mockingbird tune on this and it will be a beast and probably even more efficient I love his work have four micros/whoops running Mockingbird and love them. Thanks for the review and thanks for helping me spend my kids inheritance.
I don't currently have this I don't believe 45mm props would fit. Its very very uncommon for a quad to be designed for one size of prop but yet fit a larger sized prop.
There seems to be a split. This is only my estimation. Those that are coming to acro/traditional fpv likely started flying with camera type drones, like a phantom or mavic. That expectation of 10 minutes or more of fly appears pretty standard for those drones. I would expect as they become more comfortable flying acro and its faster pace a 3min flight would be sufficient as I often struggle with my focus after the 3minute marker.
We can change the camera but it’s essentially a nano three already. Adding weight for hd recording will decrease flight time and how it performs. Also a new camera mount would be needed
@@NickBurnsFPV ouch.. so sad if it will decrease flight time.. my dream is have a nano / micro quad with 1s / 2s batt + hd quality record video + long range + long flight time too (min 7-8 minutes haha)... this nano baby is near my dream haha.. ugh... maybe its only dream for me.. :) anyway, thankyou for reply my question, Nick.. :)
@@NickBurnsFPV any suggestion for me , Nick? What should I build to get all features that i want ? :) Now i have jumper t18 and fatshark v6 with standard module.. Whats should i buy and upgrade..? I like cinematic, not acro yet..
@@dudydudidam Its a bit tough at this time, most of the boards we use in the AIO are mainly 1s and 2s, and have short range. I suspect for the type of flying we would either need ExpressLRS or adding our own receiver. I would look at the nano long range quads and then either swap the camera for one that does hd recording on board like the runcam split series or us something like the insta 360 go, but the go only records for 5mins max.
hi, i bought the 1s nano after watching these reviews and thought it a good way to learn more 'pro' quads as its tiny and i can fly indoors any time of the day. sadly i've had a bad experience with this one. i've had to resolder multiple wires after a few crashes (nothing drastic or extreme, the odd 1 foot drop to the ground from a table i was trying to land on etc, a few plows into a wall at a slow rate) and i've had wire after wire fail on me, and not consistently after each crash either, just randomly. i've had to resolder 1 complete motor (3 wires) to the fc, 1 wire from another motor, the black battery plug lead (which has since broken again due to weak wire, partially my own fault) and now suddenly my visual camera feed has stopped working (antenna fine as i can see the betaflight overlay but no image behind it). also i changed pids and rates to those recommended by the flywoo website and calibrated and trimmed accelerometer by using stick commands but i'm experiencing serious roll / pitch when i yaw. doesn't matter whether its slow or fast. using angle mode because i'm a beginner. i've tried to search but found nothing on this last matter. quad hovers fine and doesn't pull to one side looking for some help / tips about these issues and if its just me or have i received a defective unit?
If the wires are breaking off the aio, we likely need to tape the wires down to the arms to minimize the wire vibration. We might also need to change props after a series of crashes and the props get bent out of balance and shape they will vibrate more. Calibrating the accelerometer is pretty tricky as the quad needs to be 100% flat when we do so. Even with that the quad doesn't hover in place. To fly we need to pretty much give constant inputs. If you haven't tried a computer sim I would also give one of those a try, such as tinywhoopgo or velocidrone. If you dig back a few years in my videos you will see a much different type of flight as it takes time and much practice.
@@NickBurnsFPV thanks for your reply and tips. I practiced a lot on fpv freerider and consider myself still a beginner level but able to fly acro OK without crashing. the sim is much easier than real life Hah. My vtx is buggered though. I've got no image coming through, just the overlay with a grey fuzzy colour underneath. Gonna install project mockingbird on the thing to see if that fixes the yaw / pitch issue. That's the main off putting thing for me atm while flying. In the end my vtx is buggered so I think I'll end up sending this back with original firmware reinstalled. If I do what similar sized quad would you recommend that is easier to fly for beginners than this baby 1s nano? Something with prop guards would be a bonus
@@SHRModding The basic premise is that smaller the platform (quad) the inherently unstable they are. I would suggest jumping up to a ultra light 3inch like the nanohawk x or similar. While with props on its a fair bit larger its still small by comparison to a 5incher. If you really want to stay with something running 40mm props an option would the baby nazgul 73mm, my worry with that is the weak vtx and its connected with pins which is a weakness in crashes. In the moment that is one of the few bnf 40mm props I can think of.
It's so cute. I need it. I was debating on getting a Moblite 7 (I don't have a whoop yet) mostly for flight times, But seeing as this uses the same batteries, has similarish flight times, and is tougher.... I think it's a no brainer
Just got mine the tune is pretty bad on a full battery the whole quad shudders until some battery is drained out. I need to get some new batteries I'm only getting about 3 mins on a 450mah but I may be just flying it hard. I definitely want to try the 19000kv flywoo motors on it and get a little more punch out of it. I'm not too concerned with the flight time I just thought it was neat lol. Also have crashed mine quite a bit into concrete and it still doesn't have a scratch lol.
Awesome quad. But I just broke my second camera on relatively mild crashes. There is nothing appearance wise wrong with the camera but as soon as I put another camera on its fine..
I wonder if the camera is making contact with something behind it. Maybe cover the back of the camera with some foam tape to decrease the direct impact?
I think this one has some advantages over the uz80. The overall flight performance is very very similar but the nano baby has no props in view and longer flight times
Nice review Nick! I'm keen to try this one out. Patrick and his PMB tunes are very useful. As a beginner i was about to give up on my betaflight metor 65 until i put his angle racing tune on it, then it was fun as! I found that with emu flight and pmb tunes the whoops felt much more intuitive to fly.
@@joyindeeamornchai754 On multicell batteries (2s,3s,4s etc) yes, charging to hv on those shortens the battery life...I did that more than 2 years ago. On 1s batteries I don't find the hv charging has much of a change in battery life.
ball races? I don't know what that is? Are you referring to bearings or bushings? If not, I am not aware of any motor below 1102 with bearings, all have bushings.
If the battery has been used and flown to very low voltage that could be it or kept for long periods of time at full voltage. Or physical damage will all change the battery health and its ability to provide flight time and performance
Don't know what the range of this little thing is , but it would be cool if it had some Worthy long range . Put a aftermarket 4K camera in it & air brush it with the pattern & color of a iridescent hummingbird to disguise it , use it as a spy drone . Right now I own several drones , some are for heavy lifting , some are for sport & fun & now I'm looking for a drone that has very long range & I know there's ones out there with crazy range . The United States military has a very very small helicopter type drone they use for reconnaissance that has a battery life of a hour & a half & can fly at a range of 27 miles with a real time camera , but the thing cost a upwards of around $37,000 dollars & that's crazy . It even has a fly back home feature that lets it fly back home on its own super fast . Look it up it's out their .
longer range requires more mw. micro vtx haven't topped 400mw yet, 1watt is commonly used for long range and those are large vtx. Otherwise we need to use hd video or specialized directional antenna on the goggles.
They are fairly different. This is 1s battery, vs the baby is 4s. But the baby is going to do better carrying additional weight like an HD camera, this is going to struggle with any HD camera. Depends on what you want as well.
@@schefpv really neither if that is what we are looking for. Nothing sub 3 inch prop is any where near close to a 5inch feel. The "flies like a 5 inch" is an exceptionally poor cliche. Just as a 5inch isn't comfortable to fly in small spaces like micros can easily.
@@NickBurnsFPV I really appreciate the feedback. I have a 5 inch and can barely keep it in the air. I was just wondering if these quads are good to learn on?
@@schefpv I think "whoops" are the best starter quads. They have prop protection and can be flown inside and outside, so we can get more flight time regardless of weather or our location. A swing set size area will be fine to fly in. The certainly are less likely to hurt anyone or anything and repairs can be less expensive.
Does this nano feel a little slower to you? Maybe I'm imagining it but the flight footage didnt seem as fast or "rippy" as your other flights with whoops and other 40mm prop quads. I'm definitely interested in it but I'm not sure about it if it seems slower or less acrobatic than let's say the moblite7. I know you did some slow cruising but I'm referring to your first flight. The faster one of them
The kv of the motor is on the lower end of the spectrum. With that, I don't think its all that much slower than anything else in this size prop. The camera angle is static, I think its much like the baby nazgul but with longer flights.
@@NickBurnsFPV that's awesome! This might be a quad for me then! Those flight times are super attractive and I cant get enough of these tiny quads! After my first one I've developed a pattern of buying one a month haha

I saw your Baby Nazgul video and I liked it, but seeing this I am now wondering which one I should get. What are the major differences? The long flight time seems very interesting to me!
I would highly encourage you to watch the main ones your considering flight videos back to back. Its likely best to decide for ourselves. If your planning to fly inside and outside a whoop like the mobula 6 in a mobula 7 frame would be best overall due to the ability to fly safely inside. If we are looking at outdoor only, the separator between the baby nazgul and the nano baby is flight time. I would still think most of those two would want the nano baby.
@@Rood6 Sure, keep in mind iflight is also doing a larger version of the baby nazgul, I have been told one is being sent or has been sent. It will run the same size props as this.
I have had similar video flashing effects like that on multiple elrs builds and after two months of troubleshooting on elrs discord and with happymodel the issue turned out to be a bad TX. No link issues but TX was blowing out video. DVR setup away from TX proved this. After swapping the TX the issue went away all together however this is now the third ES24TX board for X-lite/Tango I've run and not a single time has the fan kicked on. Ive used the Happymodel factory flash as well as 1.0 and 1.01 configurator flash with same results fan never powers up. So I'm hoping this is not some kind of issue that will pop up again due to overheating or something. Man these last few months have been one issue after another for me. I cant tell you how many replacement parts I'm waiting on.
@@NickBurnsFPV Still waiting on a replacement AIO for the HX115LR I've had but not been able to fly since July. Not to mention bad GPS on my Inav Firefly Hex and the Moblite7 that arrived crushed. I ordered a Firefly Nano baby 5 days ago and it still has not shipped. If its like the last firefly I'll have it in two months from now with a bad AIO or ELRS RX or who knows maybe this one wont even show up. No joke cant make up my amount of misfortune...
@@NickBurnsFPV I am thinking the moblite 7 frame and keep the canopy it has. A little different but flight times should be great and have some protection.
@@ChristKrew-Rev1.8 That should work. I am not sure about turtle mod. It very well could work fine, I just haven't tested, but seen where canopies can play a role in how whoop turtle or don't turtle. Its generally the heavier whoops that don't turtle(flip after crash).
@@NickBurnsFPV Yea I may just use the beebrain... I have an extra one lying around. That should work. Also when spring comes... I can switch it back over. What are your thoughts on using the 65mm frame with these motors and 31mm props?
I just built nearly the same. Took the moblite7 components to a 2 inch racerx twiglet mini frame. Flies great. But unfortunatly the 0802 motors couldnt handle 2 inch biblade props. Too much vibration and jello. Seems 1.6 inch is the limit for 0802 motors. Since I want more punch, i ordered 1102 13500kv motors. Mine is 21g dry with 0802. It will then be converted to 2.5 inch biblade props and frame, coming in at 28 gram. Love how you always wish for a 2s version in your 1s reviews. I feel the same, once you get to love the power punch of 2s. But 1s should be to fly anywere and silent.
@@TheblackraddishFPV I respectfully disagree. Ending a flight at 3.5v/cell is standard in FPV with Lipo batteries. It could be different with other types of batteries. This is different than storage voltage ~3.8v/cell which we should keep lipo batteries at when not prepping for use.

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder if the 48 mm BetaFPV props would spin on this frame?
I am not sure we can swing the 48mm prop. I will need to look closer.
Or, if we took our Mobula7 and tossed it in this frame, we'd have a 2s version of this... That would really RIP! 😎🤘

Shows just how well the nanohawk x was tuned by emax. Completely different quads I know...but having something pre tuned is such a time saver.
But the proprietary nature of emax is what kills me about the brand

Flyable? Possibly depends on how it changes and the resulting weight

I prefer analog, what goggles and radio should I buy to connect most of the fpv quad also what receiver should I purchase

Nice review BTW
I like the small game pad style of radio, its the jumper t-lite with the 4 in 1 module. This will bind to most if not all our fpv quads. Goggles tend to be more expensive part of the hobby, most on a budget will go with box style googles. The cobra x are likely the best in the group but there are many many others, a much less expensive box goggle is the eachine DM800.

Would you take this over the baby nazgul? Which seems more robust?
I would take this. It opens up our battery choices and flight times. We could put on tri blade or even quad blade if we want more thrust at the cost of flight time.
Looks like it flys smooth, are you going to change the PIDS?
I might if I can get some free time.
I kinda want one of these to use my 1s batts in the summer.
Hi! Could you say few words about comparison with Baby Nazgul?

I think the baby nazgul has a better pid tune, but it also restricted with the size of battery without a mod. The flight time difference should be apparent.

I'm still having trouble with trying to bind it. Is there a way to reach out to me and help figure this out. Thanks in return tho.
The tri blade will likely give us more thrust and aggressive flight capabilities at the cost of flight time, but I think we have some to spare.
Also in that one flight did you fly the battery down below 3 volts?
At least with a ufl connector for the vtx on this aio board switch out the vtx antenna is an easy task. Do you think there might be enough clearance to spin 48 mm props for a little more punch?
We might be able to, I am not finding my 48mm triblades. Looks like it will be very close at the usb port. I measured with calipers. We only have 4mm between prop and canopy at the usb port, we can get another 1.5mm if we trim the canopy portion somehow.

Yes 2” 2s I would think about getting one even more.
There's the emax tinyhawk 2 race😆😆
If you had to choose between this and the moblite7 which would you pick? Also do I need a special transmitter module for the express lrx receiver?
For expresslrs we do need an expresslrs tx module for our radio. For outside flying I would likely choose this, for inside the moblite7. The moblite7 doesn't fly as well as this outside with the typical wind I have in my area.

They might stay at that discharged voltage for a day or two, then I either recharge or storage charge them on a 1s parallel board.
I noticed this with mine. I too added electrical tape between, but didn't have much better results.
Thanks Nick had one ordered by the end of the video, this one looks like fun, with ELRS and great flight times it should only be limited by the video for some easy cruising around the park. But a PJ Clarke Mockingbird tune on this and it will be a beast and probably even more efficient I love his work have four micros/whoops running Mockingbird and love them. lol. Great news kids, we leave you my entire colossal drone collection. :)
this drone work on me perfect and fly good like you and it sounds weird! I dropped it in the ground but I managed to clean it! why is weird sound?
I really couldn’t say. Sound weird could be so many things, maybe it’s due to bent props
@@NickBurnsFPV i clean my motor after i hit in Earth! 😞
@nickburnsfpv i have this drone and i can fit 45mm props should i go bigger or stay at 40mm props ??
I don't currently have this I don't believe 45mm props would fit. Its very very uncommon for a quad to be designed for one size of prop but yet fit a larger sized prop.
I ended up breaking they frame and going with they Sub250 nanofly frame and it clears 45 props I just wonder if I’m losing performance
Those of you who like super long flight times. Nope not me, I super love the 3 min flight times on my micros ;)
Can we change the camera to runcam nano 3 or caddx cam for hd record?
Thankyou for information..

@@dudydudidam Its a bit tough at this time, most of the boards we use in the AIO are mainly 1s and 2s, and have short range. hi, i bought the 1s nano after watching these reviews and thought it a good way to learn more 'pro' quads as its tiny and i can fly indoors any time of the day. sadly i've had a bad experience with this one. i've had to resolder multiple wires after a few crashes (nothing drastic or extreme, the odd 1 foot drop to the ground from a table i was trying to land on etc, a few plows into a wall at a slow rate) and i've had wire after wire fail on me, and not consistently after each crash either, just randomly. i've had to resolder 1 complete motor (3 wires) to the fc, 1 wire from another motor, the black battery plug lead (which has since broken again due to weak wire, partially my own fault) and now suddenly my visual camera feed has stopped working (antenna fine as i can see the betaflight overlay but no image behind it).
also i changed pids and rates to those recommended by the flywoo website and calibrated and trimmed accelerometer by using stick commands but i'm experiencing serious roll / pitch when i yaw. doesn't matter whether its slow or fast. using angle mode because i'm a beginner. i've tried to search but found nothing on this last matter. quad hovers fine and doesn't pull to one side
looking for some help / tips about these issues and if its just me or have i received a defective unit?
@@NickBurnsFPV thanks, you've been really helpful
@@SHRModding Sure. Let me know if I can help further
It's so cute. I need it. I was debating on getting a Moblite 7 (I don't have a whoop yet) mostly for flight times, But seeing as this uses the same batteries, has similarish flight times, and is tougher.... I think it's a no brainer
If I won't to know about a quad I watch your videos because you have already done one so happy flying
Wow concrete survival!
@@NickBurnsFPV I was definitely taking it easy at first I was worried about how thin the frame is but it handles the crashes well!!
@@lucidjimiking46 Its good to hear your experience. I have had a few here in the comments having a "fragile" experience.
@@NickBurnsFPV well now I can see that blew an esc pretty easily. Armed 2 times up against a hat not realizing now that esc is gone..
@@lucidjimiking46 dang, that hurts. Props stuck is an esc killer, the voltage spike just can't be handled by these little esc.
Awesome quad. But I just broke my second camera on relatively mild crashes. There is nothing appearance wise wrong with the camera but as soon as I put another camera on its fine..
I wonder if the camera is making contact with something behind it. Maybe cover the back of the camera with some foam tape to decrease the direct impact?
question is this or the new E-Max one?? I love E-Max but 10 minute flight time is really good!!
The Nanohawk X has more aggressive performance, but not nearly as small or efficient.
So glad I ordered one before your review lol😆Thinking I’m going to bolt emuflight on it.
How would you say this one compares to the UZ80? Which one do you like better?
I think this one has some advantages over the uz80. The overall flight performance is very very similar but the nano baby has no props in view and longer flight times
Nice review Nick! I'm keen to try this one out. Patrick and his PMB tunes are very useful. As a beginner i was about to give up on my betaflight metor 65 until i put his angle racing tune on it, then it was fun as! I found that with emu flight and pmb tunes the whoops felt much more intuitive to fly.
For the 720mAh to get 10mins flight time did you charge it to 4.2v or 4.35v?
It was charged to 4.35
@@NickBurnsFPV do you find the cycle life worse on HV lipos when u charge them to 4.35v?
@@joyindeeamornchai754 On multicell batteries (2s,3s,4s etc) yes, charging to hv on those shortens the battery life...I did that more than 2 years ago. On 1s batteries I don't find the hv charging has much of a change in battery life.
Can you record on this quad with a SD card using the DJI system?
no. dji on something this small isn't viable. dji vtx adds to much weight and this is only 1s on 40mm props.
Hi Nick, Do the motors have ball races ?
ball races? I don't know what that is? Are you referring to bearings or bushings? If not, I am not aware of any motor below 1102 with bearings, all have bushings.
That's a chunky lil 1S battery!! So cool.
This looks amazing!
I really want to get one, but I know nothing about drones. Do I need to buy a separate transmitter and battery??
If you don't have a transmitter and battery we do need those. As well as goggles and a charger.
I can only get like 3 or 4 min on a emax 450. Any reason why
If the battery has been used and flown to very low voltage that could be it or kept for long periods of time at full voltage. Or physical damage will all change the battery health and its ability to provide flight time and performance
Love PMB since my Tinyhawk days. This looks cool. My babytooth is my fave 1s but I’m with you on a 2s version!!
@@NickBurnsFPV yup I know all of that , just would have been cool if that was long range .
Any chance you get your hand on that new mobula with the 0702s , so looking forward to seeing what u think if they send u one
I believe that is on the way.
Can't decide between this or the flywoo firefly baby
They are fairly different. This is 1s battery, vs the baby is 4s. But the baby is going to do better carrying additional weight like an HD camera, this is going to struggle with any HD camera. Depends on what you want as well.
@@NickBurnsFPV looking for something that would be a similar feel to a 5 inch
Great little micro👍 and with the mockingbird touch it will be even sweeter🤌 this is definitely a must get little ripper I would've like to see it run 2s but after the mockingbird I'm sure it will fly like 2s lol I seen a couple whoops get the mockingbird treatment and they flew like gems!!!! Longer flight times as well as superb handling and response another home run nick👍.....I think I like your tks rocket better though😁✌
I too like the TKS rocket race better. This is more about just 1s, longer flight times and tiny. The rocket race has good efficiency and great performance?
@@NickBurnsFPV after seeing yours nick that tks rocket is at the top of my list lol I had a horrible experience the other day I went flying my novice 4 that I had the vtx issues and thought I had it fixed I had used the weld glue and everything was fine I got about 110 meters out and completely lost video! And I was too far out for Los so I ended up losing my quad.....I'm so ticked off😔.....I couldn't even run back the vid to see were I went down because video cut off while I was in the air I searched for the sound of that loud buzzer but unfortunately it wasn't as loud in the field as it is in the house....so needless to say I can't even replace it because they don't sell just the quad you have to purchase the entire bundle in order to get the quad and I really don't wanna do that I don't have another 500 bucks ......so I'm bummed out😫
@@scu-dub Sorry to hear we have a lost quad. If you don't mind me asking. What was the original vtx issue we used the welder on?
@@NickBurnsFPV remember I had the ufl connector problem....the connector came off the vtx board and was still attached to the antenna they had it glued with now I'm finding out is "704" ???? @@scu-dub Keep looking bro! Do a grid search pattern, so you know for a fact you've covered every inch of an area. Then, check off that area and proceed to another... Keep going! Go way farther out from where you thought it dropped than you think it landed, because invariably, that's where you'll find it! Go back today and search, and search... Bring other people with you, if you can, to cover more area faster. Always put a physical buzzer on all quads and don't rely on those worthless motor buzzers!
GO NOW! YOU CAN FIND IT! 😎🤘
( Next time, don't buy Eachine! Sorry to say, but they use the lowest quality parts and that's why this loss happened.) Buy the Nazgul for only a few bucks more and get higher quality throughout! Never buy Eachine again and be much happier... I know, I bought Eachine when I started and pumped so much money into those quads to keep them going because of breakage, failures, burnouts, etc. They just fail more often because of the low quality parts used. FACT. That's why they are cheaper. 😟
The - 130 is an "unknown " checkbox in the osd.. The camera was wiggling on me so o swapped out the camera with a runcam 2 nano but may swap it smaller. Added 5G using a 3d printed canopie, but ill make it lighter. Else, its an awesome quad! Happy to see 1s micro be able to be so acrobatic! Although its so light as you expect so you can't toss it lol
@@NickBurnsFPV Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion! If the major difference is the flighttime then this might be the drone for me.
Replacement TX board has been in the mail for over a month but went out of pocket and purchased another ES24TX and have had zero video issues with it although the fan still never turns on. I've had fun with my Inav Firefly Hex once the bad GPS was dealt with also those HQ 4x40mm props blow apart on 4s but otherwise a fun rig so I did order a elrs capable Nano three days ago when it was listed.
Did you see it on all the ELRS quads with the ES24TX?
I am going to order another to be sure its not my tx. Thank you for that information.
@@NickBurnsFPV Yeah Two using Ep2 rx one using PP rx and the new 2.4ghz betafpv aio with integrated elrs rx. Once I placed the dvr away from my transmitter/TX the flashing interference went away.

Awsome vid. Just purchased one an it turned up today..am excited to take it out for a crash or two!
is this transferable to a whoop frame? Getting ready to for indoor here soon for the kid and I.
Oh sure. We might need a canopy but yea it should mount up
@@NickBurnsFPV thank you sir.
Gonna look into this one. Looks like a perfect 1s cruiser
Awesome review as usual! Will these motors work on a typical whoop? Somebody told me the mounting pattern is different.
I am not with it at the moment, but I think they are the standard 3 hole mounting we have with our whoops.
Hey Nick, would it work transplanting a Mobula7 1S Elrs (v4) to this firefly frame?
Yes, but we will likely need to retune
@@NickBurnsFPV Great! Thanks Nick!
Yes 1102 can handle a 2inch prop so much better. Yes the little little ones are more fly anywhere 💯
Heck yea, nice quad, great flights and review, a project mockingbird tune would be amazing, thanks Nick
Where can I find the tune for this quad made by mockingbird?
I feel like they missed the mark by not putting a spi elrs receiver in the fc.
I would like to see that as well, I wonder if there wasn't space for this small cross shaped aio.
Howdy, Nick! This bird looks cool! Thanks for sharing - have a great weekend!
3.5 battery seems like a really low discharge?
Why? Pretty much the standard for fpv quads
@@NickBurnsFPV only if you want to run your battery dangerously low. And shorten the life of the battery.
@@NickBurnsFPV ok, I’m new to fpv, but I’ve been flying 6s 1300 lipos fir 12 months and my batteries still feel like the day I got them for my birthday 12 months ago. I don’t have lots of money so I’m happy to run them to 3.7 -3.6, and have them bounce back to a healthy storage of 3.8
