I was mulling over this and I wonder how long it takes to have your own life and when do you know exactly that you have your own life. I ask because I am over 40 and although I have my own life which means I am now starting out on my 3rd career and does that now mean I have my own life and can have a husband because if I’m honest I never feel ready.

I’m 20 years old but I feel like it can happen at almost any age as long as you are at a point in your life where you feel like you can offer yourself the necessities, that you want from life. Is that a house? Is that a career? A car? Stable mental state? Etc. It doesn’t matter as long as you know, that everything you need isn’t relying on that marriage. Because god forbid, if things go wrong for whatever reason… you need to be sure that you still have what you had before the marriage.

Honestly, it’s not being 40 that makes you ready to be a wife. It’s so many internal factors and honestly it’s if you ever meet the right one! That’s probably the biggest thing. You can be amazing but if you don’t meet someone that embodies that which you seek for marriage then that has more to do with if you’ll get a husband or not.

She knew where her boundaries were and she didn't have a problem with exposing them and exposing the person that hurt her. No matter what their fame was. If you’re a naturally private person an interview with personal questions is going to be a bit uncomfortable. She did them for her job and that’s respectable. I like that she’s now in a place in her career where she don’t HAVE to do them, that’s a flex not many famous ppl have.

I told my wife a similar thing when we got married, I wanted her to have something in her life that jist hers, something not me or our son or anyone can lay claim to. And now she has her own business. I would tell any my son or any young person the same thing. A relationship only works when two whole people come together.

A relationship doesn’t only work when two whole people come together lmao. My wife and I have been married together for 20 yrs since high school. We had no idea what type of responsibility we were getting ourselves into when we were that young or the hardships would face both coming from broken homes. But we loved Each other, we work hard at communication despite our different styles, we compromise for each other in many ways and we trust God to help us with our imperfections. By no means were we whole but what we have is working and I wouldn’t tell others they need to be whole make it work. We are a constant work in progress and we’ve learned to embrace just that.

Even those of us who did stay home and had babies and loved it needed to have our own lives as well! Our own identity and things that we loved! I speak in past tense because when my kids all grew up and were gone and I found myself again he hated it and we are divorced as well. I am so happy with my own life now even with different stressors, at least I am free to be me now! I don’t regret any of my choices in life and hope everyone can make peace with their self and feel the same.

if some women don’t want to be stay at home moms then there is everything wrong with a man trying to force that on her when she clearly doesn’t want that. You assume that housewives were happy when in reality most weren’t. The men abused the women financially since they were the sole providers of the women hence why the first wave feminist movement occurred which was to get freedom from male oppression. Males use “strong independent” and “lonely, single” to insult women but we can see the history of male behavior to know that it is never a good idea to rely on men, no longer do women get threatened by singleness or independence because this is what most of us want. If you provider males want your wives to stay at home you should choose better women and then discuss the arrangements prior to marrying them then you wouldn’t have such a high percentage of women divorcing you. Choose better women.
