I have bought this kit. However my kit didn’t stop flickering. Many times I repeated installing process, but problem has not been solved. I couldn’t find the cause. Finally I removed DRL control unit, and added a simple on-off switch instead of DRL controll unit. Then I put in this on-off switch on the dashboard. Now I can control DRL from drivers seat completely. Only one thing I have to care is that I must switch off DRL when I leave my 997. Totally I am very satisfied with this kit. Recently I bought LED taillights of Morimoto. It is very easy to install and working completely. And LED taillights makes good combination with this headlights. Totally I and my 997 are very happy with Morimoto lights kit.
I just installed the 991 gen style LED headlights on my car but these look so much more modern and quality ! Guess I'll be ordering another set of headlights !
Would be interested in a set for 987 boxster/cayman as well. Great to see you starting to address the newtimer market for the popular models where plenty of these are still on the road.
996/Boxsters need one of these headlights waaaay more. The biggest complaint of those two cars is the headlights. Both the style and the output is criticized. I hope these 997 lights do well and encourage you to corner that market!
@@ardoin_337 997 buyers probably more likely to shell out $1800 for a pair of replacement headlights. Also, how are you going to fix the 996 headlights with drop in replacements? Morimoto improves the lighting and style of the headlights. They can't change your car's fender and bumper.
Just installed these! Most time consuming aspect was fishing the harness within the fender. Also, during programming, my lights did not flicker but they seem to be functioning correctly 😅
These are compatible with the Porsche 911 (2005-2013). - For 997.1: They are Plug-N-Play. - For 997.2: They are physically compatible, but you’ll need expert decoding with a PIWIS diagnostic tool to resolve any errors related to the AFS system - usually done at a dealership.
Just completed assembling the lights and my car now looks like this emoji 🥺, pulling the wires was the hardest part for me, now i need to adjust the lights hight and arrange the wires
The right light came out easily. The left one doesn't budge. Is there an alternative to the include headlight removal tool. I already bent the tool and no luck. Please advise soonest.
The Morimoto XB LED headlights for the Porsche 997 are compatible with the vehicle’s standard single and dual projector headlights. However, they are not fully compatible with the Porsche Dynamic Light System (PDLS). If your 997 is equipped with PDLS, the headlights will work, but you may encounter an error code related to the AFS (Adaptive Front-lighting System). This can be resolved by flashing the ECU to eliminate the error. If you need further assistance or have any questions about the installation process, feel free to reach out!
Looks like you compared your headlight output to a 997.1 which are halogen. The 997.2 has different headlights, Bi-Xenon. What's the difference in output there?
Great question! We didn't test the 997.2 Bi-Xenon headlights directly, so I can't provide a comparison for the output difference. However, we based our comparison on the 997.1 halogen setup since it's a more common point of reference. If we get the opportunity to test the 997.2 Bi-Xenons in the future, we'll be sure to share the results!
I bought the same headlight and installed it on my 997 turbo. However, there are times when the daylight is turned on, and it turns off when the air conditioner is turned on hard. There is no problem with the 12 volt battery. How can I solve the problem?
The A/C is sucking power from the electrical system. You probably do need to get a new battery, or recalibrate the led DRL harness with the AC on full blast.
How about making some retrofit LED headlights for BMW E30 high and low beams? Not necessarily the US Spec sealed beams but euro spec reflector beam ones. E30 community desperately needs some good LED headlights..
WOW, this is an awesome step by step video. Love it. Looking forward to upgrading soon in the near future for my 997.
Glad it was helpful!
Just bought a pair!!! More excited than my kids!!Can’t wait for Santa to arrive.

We're glad you got them installed - the harness can be a bit of a challenge. As long as they're functioning properly, you're good to go!
I was waiting for this!
Wait no more!
Are you getting a set for your 997?
Will these work on a 997.2 turbo S?

OOOPPPs. You need to turn the Left one counter clockwise.
Eureka, I got it. New lights are installed and connected.
Any update on the tail lights you mentioned at the end of the video? I have the headlights already I can't wait for the tail lights!
Coming soon my guy!
Do you have recommendation for tidying the cables up after?
Zip ties are ideal for this!
Will Morimoto make something like this for the 996 generation cars?
Quite possibly!
I must buy this !! 😍. My 997.2 turbo dont illuminate strong on the night. How does it cost to send in France ? Thx !
Yes we can get you a set sent over to France!

Do these retrofit to a 997.1 halogen model?
Yes, they do! Plug and play, easy installation.
Will these work with the adaptive headlights movement?
These will not work with adaptive option.
@@MorimotoLighting dang, alright thank you for the res.
