Heyo ! This fight was done soon after Elden Ring's release and is quite outdated, if you're looking for strategies to deal with Maliketh's moveset I recommend checking one of my latest fights with all the up-to-date dodges and punishes in it ! th-cam.com/video/R9_F5IB5hqg/w-d-xo.html With more people seemingly getting this video recommended as of late, I thought it was worth a mention. Have a nice day !
This is my favorite fight in the game. Struggled on him at level 92. Watched some level 1 runs and came back and beat him first try! Watching level 1 runs really helps me learn how to dodge certain attacks and avoide damage.
Thanks ! My poor boi Maliketh definitely deserves more health. When the Godskin Duo before him have 3 times as much health and even Gideon has as much effective hp as Maliketh... something is wrong balance wise here
Yeah honestly even if a fight no hit lvl1 with a +25 weapon is still kinda clean, well this is just a no hit run... Not really impressive when we consider the huge damage you make with a +25, but this, in the video is really impressive, the patience you need to have is just incredible, 5 minutes is really long for that boss....
Thanks and yeah ! You can be so aggressive on him compared to bosses like Dragonlord, it becomes difficult to manage stamina with how much you can attack. Fun and intense boss
You have my respect. I'm doing Malekith NG+7 right now with only two swords and no special ash of war, just dressed in silk. If I ever get to Malekith, he knocks me down fast. The long way to the boss and every time the cleric keep the learning effect unfortunately also in limits. But your video is very informative. You really did a great job!
Thank you! I have a few more up to date videos on Maliketh with a wrriten guide linked in the descriptions if that can be helpful, and good luck on your challenge!
@@Jordien Done, Maliketh killed Solo NG+7 just with straight swords - Just when I was completely relaxed and almost disinterested and only paid attention to his moves, it worked. After countless deaths, I didn't care whether it would work. But you notice that you really get better with practice and that your brain starts to recognise the patterns almost by itself and reacts accordingly. But I don't know if I would really invest that much time and energy in a boss again, even if the high when you've done it is really very satisfying.
Yep it's secret alternate dialogue unlocked by feeding all 9 deathroots to his Beast Clergyman form in Caelid temple. It changes his intro dialogue, death line and what he tells th player upon killing them. Bit of a hassle to gather them but worth it for these
You can see him crouch and ready up before he does the attack - that's the telegraph for double swipes. It's precisely long enough that you have time to perform a jump, which is easier and safer than trying to randomly roll it
Thanks kc ! Fun fact while grinding another kill I accidentally overwrote my main RL1 save where I collected all 9 deathroot for the secret Maliketh dialogue, so 5 hours of dungeons down the drain I had to redo. Was it worth it ? 100% for sure.
You can Jump over the double slash???? I've been trying to do this fight but I'm always forced to disingage when he does that move. Thanks for teaching me that.
2:51 Is there a way to dodge this attack consistently? He didn't do it in this fight but sometimes he will also do this attack after 2 air spins and that one feels completely undodgeable.
The aerial spinning attack into blade of Death flurry ? That can be prevented with spacing, which is why he didn't do it here. It usually happens as follow up to the 3:43 attack where he crashes his weapon onto the ground and stands on the blade ; if you roll or run away from it he'll do the aerial attack, but going behind him like I do causes him to jump away and land without further attacks instead.
@@giacomogiliberti2673 Only for the jump variant (3:43 follow-up), the regular overhead into flurry he does during melee combos (2:51) are a different matter. I've redone this fight a couple times with harder restrictions, on my latest kill I even intentionally bait the aerial spin flurry so I can run to his side to dodge it and get some good punishes. It's safer than it looks and rather easy to do to be honest !
Nice fight! Was the roar that big an issue that it was worth yeeting square off? I just started messing around with the fight and I can get so many staggers with square off.
There's another Maliketh RL1 no upgrades done by Parallax with the same setup, and he was actively using square offs and played unlocked in his version. The square offs are great for staggers for sure but whiffing some leave him in dangerous situations a bunch of times, and it doesn't seem like he's being very mindful of potential roars which was the main reason I used BHS yeah, on top of allowing full aggression on his combos and still being able to escape and punish if he followed with the Overhead into flurry attack, which otherwise need you to play safer and no roll strafe to his back if he follows up. I can see square offs being more efficient in the long term, I just prioritized consistency and learning the moveset in depth for a guide so I didn't consider bullying him with staggers too much ;)
dex bleed or strength is the meta trying to dodge his attacks on ps4 is insane at 30fps compared to 60fps it does make a difference since the attacks can be difficult to read considering the sheer aggression. I forced myself to be on top him and found out an attack where I can just go ham I tried to find a passable opponening but this one felt 100% safe but it just felt like rng. it's weird how elden ring plays it really does maybe because I'm stuck on last gen.. first phase was cake tho. the best way I can describe it is basically almost every boss plays like nameless king except nameless is a balanced challenge here they are just too fast or too delayed constantly. and just straight up deceiving . I died to nameless 40+ times felt impossible but I learned the timing and I just wanted to continue fighting him felt so confident..but here we'll yea.. idk
In second phase when does the double circle then goes into the downward stab AOE (4:16), can you dodge this without bloodhound step? Im having a very hard time with it.
Yep, it's even quite simple ! This video is quite old, check the latest ones from my Maliketh playlist and you'll have all the optimized strats, including a written guide in the descriptions !
For phase 1, always follow him around after he disengages to prevent him spamming his stone incantations - bait melee combos instead and only punish at the end of a combo until you learn when it's safe to sneak some hits during the attacks chain. When you run at him after he disengaged you can typically duck any melee he does by just running under him for a couple free hits before he starts a combo. For phase 2 his attacks get much more reach but also slower, making it even easier to stay under him and have his weapon going past you. The only things to watch out for are his combo variation where he does an overhead into Blade of Death flurry (which I dodge into him with Bloodhound's step in the video to get in more damage, but you can run away from it instead too), and the roar he does out of neutral state if you pressure him too much - this one can't be reliably dodged if you're in his face when he does it since the hitbox lingers, so respect his space when he's not attacking and only rush in to punish combos, and follow him when he jumps away as usual. Good luck !
Thanks ! This kill is pretty old though, if you're looking for strategies one of my most recent Maliketh kills will be a much better resource ! I'll link one in a pinned comment under this video since it is getting into people's recommendations it seems

Super useful to learn his phase 2 punishes. Ongbal is normally a great visual resource but he bursted this fight down too fast to showcase much lol
Finally, a no hit run that's actually impressive
I’m crying souls players want the dude to be naked lv1 AND tickle the boss

nothing short of mastery, as always! it took so long to figure him out but now he's one of my favorite fights in elden ring
Bravo man. This is definitely harder than +10 RL1 like a lot of people did. The damage output is insane at +10/+25
Thanks ! My poor boi Maliketh definitely deserves more health. When the Godskin Duo before him have 3 times as much health and even Gideon has as much effective hp as Maliketh... something is wrong balance wise here
@@Jordiengodskin duo are easily parryable. Maliketh is much harder due to his erratic movements and most of his attacks 1 shotting you

Absolute insanity. This is the stuff that restores my faith in humanity. Please let this video get 4 million views so my boy can focus on his talents.
If you like this, I've done a harder version of the fight recenntly which is the latest video on my channel. And thanks a lot !
Insane play, dogding him is very tough and many youtubers aren't showing it without blasphemous claw.
You are great player of elden for doing so.
Gg.
I'm using everything at my disposal and I'm struggling so hard. It's super cool that you can fight under such immense pressure
I thought I was pretty good at Elden Ring … until I watched this.
Awesome ggs ! Faster than expected

Man, that was amazingly awesome! Idk what to say, so skilled fighting, you remember every move , cool ! 💯🔥🤟🤟🤟🤟 Respect to you 💯
Sick show in a good way at its very best. Pure skill. Just 100% on point. Respect 👍
Thanks, appreciated !
Hardest part about this fight is when you did his questline first
this is super helpful, you are insane.

Almost fooled me into thinking this was an ethical kill, but I saw you use a weapon art as many as 3 times. Blocked and reported

that's pure talent my friend
best i've seen

never heard this death voice line before, usually he goes on about coveting destined death.

Amazing how you use Bloodhound step, you dont over use it only on a very specific dodge which is very cool
Really cool fight, would have loved to see the parry too, just coz it's cool
Thanks, parrying p2 felt a bit cheesy on him though. Maybe sometime later.
I'm attempting a rune level 1 challenge and I'm stuck on Maliketh. I'm trying to commit his moveset to memory so i can evade and counter.
00:52 and 01:14 - how do you know when is he gonna follow up with double slash here? This attack is so fast and almost has no telegraph

i can dodge every attack accept the one where he wails and slashes like 100 times in a second. That's what's got me stuck.
