It's kül that you can get that dagger from behind the beastial sanctum down the cliff. To bad though both the dagger and the colossal sword don't work together.
As for the stuff with Maliketh, here is the short of it: I can't remember if you met him during your playthrough or not, but he is the same Beast Clergyman you meet in northern Dragonburrow and give Deathroot to. The fragment of the rune of death was stolen from his blade, and he chose to live as a solitary priest with the rest of the weapon sealed inside of him so no more of the rune of death could be taken. There's actually different dialogue if you progressed his story before fighting him by giving him all the deathroot in the game, and you learn a little more about who he is. Much like Blaidd was both Ranni's shadow, protector and half brother Maliketh was all the same to Queen Marika and she tasked him with wielding and protecting the rune of death.
To add to that - originally the power of destined death was wielded by the godhunt (godskin nobles and apostles) and their gloam eyed queen. However Maliketh beat their asses and sealed the power of the rune of death in his sword
Maliketh was the second to Queen Marika who tasked him to guard the rune of death. However, a piece of his rune was stollen, being used to kill Godwyn (well, more like half-kill as this act created undead like skeletons) as well as kicked off the Shattering. Maliketh attacks you because he's super paranoid about getting his rune stolen after it got screwed with the first time.
It's crazy how afro really just be talking "He does things in two's and three's." Eats a four string combo "I guess I've figured out everything he does," Fails to dodge a single attack and dies

I really wish you had interacted more with Gurranq before encountering maliketh. For me, it was such a shock walking through the fog door and seeing him. The transformation was amazing. The extra sentiment of knowing him beforehand was just great.
What makes this more special is that half of the damage hes doing isnt working as it should be because Maliketh is almost immune to any holy damage. Blasphemous blade helped him here big time lol
Mainly because people would usually brute force the fight since he has such a pathetic healthpool and his second phase leaves him with less than 50% hp
@@gdzen4302 I had summoned someone who had a peculiar dex build using lightning damage on dual curved swords. Guy went toe to toe with Maliketh and I played a support role with buffs and heals. He ANNIHILATED Maliketh and got hit maybe once. It was epic.

Really wish he got a buff, he is easily my favorite boss in this game, but his healthpool is such a let down, and the lowered HP effect should be stronger in my opinion, The Prison Wardens from DS3 are more of a threat than him tbh. To answer your question as to what the cutscene at the end means, Malekith is Marika's shade, kind of like how Blaidd is to Ranni. When Queen Marika became the bearer of the Elden Ring during her reign, she removed Destined Death, the aspect of guaranteed death in The Lands Between, hence why when we rest at a grace most enemies come back to life. Instead of death, their souls are essentially brought back to the Erdtree, where it sends them back to where they were before, making the cycle of life is everlasting. You can see how death and the Erdtree are connected when you enter dungeons and you see tons of bodies and skeletons surrounded by roots. When Marika removed Destined Death from the Lands Between, she imparted it into her shade, Malekith. He has it in the black blade, which he wears inside the pendant on his hand. When he was first given Destined Death, Ranni stole a shard, just a shard, and gave it to this group of assassins that were hired to kill demigods, starting with Marika and Godfrey's first born son, Godwyn the Golden. So when you beat Malekith, you basically brought back guaranteed death, lore-wise.
Been waiting on this one! Maliketh is easily my favorite boss in Elden Ring. Story wise, movement wise, its like a damn dance you have to get down that doesn’t feel too gimmick-y or pitch perfect like Malenia. Also Maliketh is a badass, gives me Berserk vibes heavy.
I think that if Maliketh’s second phase gave him full health or just given him more overall he could’ve contest Malenia for hardest boss Edit: what the hell happened to the comment section
6:48 ok, let me explain, the elden ring is basically the "code" of the world, all the laws of physics are supposed to be written there, like the law of casuality, and entrophy, each law is a rune, Malekith was Marika's shadow, Marika was the one who took care of the elden ring (she was not the elden lord, the elden lord is the one who take's care of Marika, so she is like the original "maiden"), so she took the rune of death out of the elden ring and bound it to her shadow giving her control over death, also the reason why there are so many skeletons and ghosts around. So that's why your health gets like that when you are hit by the sword, AKA the rune of death.

Yet sadly he was only a tool of his sister Marika and the 2 Fingers. In all of his items it talks about how he has slain even the strongest of champions especially with his going full guardian mode after Ranni stole the Rune Of Death the first time. Previously on elden ring.... After killing the Coolest dragon in the game our hero unfortunately has met a problem. Bleed seems to glitch out phase 2 of bosses which would make thier fights meaningless. So he tries to make a new fire bulid which absolutely wont go wrong like last time. After getting his ass beat by a familiar duo who was unfortunately was victim of the glitch he gets to fight them again. However Afro decides one last bulid. Using a hideous sword combined with the blade Jesus himself. He fights them one more time to finally kick thier ass the way it was meant to be the first time. With his new weapons at arm what awaits Afro now? Will he find a harder challenge than maleina? Will this glitch suck the fun out of the ass beatings? And will Afro become elden lord? Use the blasphemous claw to parry the Black Blade Afro. This boss fight is so good and majorly underrated. How he can jump and hang onto the pillars and jump off and attack is so sick. Such a technically sound and polished fight. And I knew Gurranq was Maliketh lol.
With the Gurranq storyline the boss desing and the fact that the sceond phase makes it a delicate dance of death between his massive damage and the fact that he has such little health makes it the best boss in the game hands down
The importance of Maliketh is that he is the holder of the Rune of Death which is also Destined Death and with it being unbound by his death things can die again. He's protecting what is left of it after what you see in the games opening cutscene with Godwyn dying. He's just trying to stop you from what your going to find later on.
He was the main goddesses right hand, and she stole death away so that gods couldn’t be killed and gave the ruin of death to her main guard (the tiger), but a piece of the death ruin was stolen and was used to kill one of the gods so tiger in shame bound the main piece to his body so none of it would ever be stolen again, that kinda kicked most of this off.
Malaketh uses black flame. You can use it as a incantation. It does damage, lowers your max health, and slowly ticks away your health. It’s honestly broken. I use it in my build
If you want a simple explanation: Maliketh was sealing destined death, the weird red run you touched in the cutscene after the boss. As the name implies, this rune is what lets people die. The reason you get runes and remembrance upon defeating enemies is because they return to the erd tree, so they do not truly die. However, by killing Maliketh, you let destined death affect the world once more. Basically, you've killed the dude that was sealing death
I wouldn’t recommend using that holy sword. The last boss has insane holy damage negation, or it just doesn’t take damage from holy attacks. Either way, don’t use the holy sword.
Can you imagine if Malekith's second phase had its own health bar? He would legit give Radahn and Malenia a run for their money in the difficulty department
Quick lore/story update if you want to know who/what Maliketh is: You know how Blaidd was Ranni's shadow? Like he followed her everywhere and protected her? At least, he was supposed to? Maliketh was Marika's shadow. Created by the fingers with one sole purpose: to protect Marika. Now, Marika didn't trust the Fingers, because they were an extension of the Erdtree, and the power behind it. Marika treated him horribly, and forced him to bear the rune of Death, sealed it away within his body. Essentially, she created the cycle of living undeath within the Lands Between, and this applies to the gods & demigods, mainly - there's a whole lore section pieced together about how a single shard of the death rune(hidden as Maliketh's blade) got stolen from Maliketh, and was immediately used to kill Godwyn the Golden(ancestor of Margit & Morgott). Basically, you unlocked the power to kill actual gods now that the Death Rune is released and no longer contained - or rather, you made them killable, reintroducing mortality into the cycle.

Next time on....

As if he needed the extra damage with the cheesey weapon art

"I DONT EVEN LIKE FROSTED FLAKES" had me dying! Awesome placement of that anime guitar shit at the end too.
lovin this series man,, cant wait to see the end.
Use the blasphemous claw to parry the Black Blade Afro. This boss fight is so good and majorly underrated. How he can jump and hang onto the pillars and jump off and attack is so sick. Such a technically sound and polished fight. And I knew Gurranq was Maliketh lol.
With the Gurranq storyline the boss desing and the fact that the sceond phase makes it a delicate dance of death between his massive damage and the fact that he has such little health makes it the best boss in the game hands down
One of the coolest boss of elden ring by a mile, just wished he had way more health
He is my favorite boss ashame he dies so fast
I think radagon and elden beast top him on the cool meter but gotta agree the man is anime af

Why would ever wish for something to be harder

Amazing job. Really love your edits, especially the FFXIV music you put in.
What's up notification squad!?
Edit: I'm so happy his second phase punished that cheese shit
Sup
Cheese? His holy weapon basically did no damage
This man had a whole anime scene gameplay 😂 defs love this content
The fact that he’s calling the wolf a tiger is the funniest thing dawg I swear 😂
14:58 I "dont even like frosted flakes you fucked up tiger" has to be the greastet line in this entire video
You’ve quickly evolved to be my favorite youtuber your energy is amazing
6:33 that's the real Getsuga tensho
The importance of Maliketh is that he is the holder of the Rune of Death which is also Destined Death and with it being unbound by his death things can die again. He's protecting what is left of it after what you see in the games opening cutscene with Godwyn dying. He's just trying to stop you from what your going to find later on.
this has too be the coolest looking build I have seen in elden ring
14:36 I kid you not..This felt like I was watching a whole anime with two characters going at it for a minute 🔥😫

Took me exactly a month to beat this game. That’s only one ending. Nonetheless, the game is a masterpiece! But I need a break.
Looks like you took your time and balance RL and play. Seems about right
Same it took me exactly a month too. I’m probably going to play it again I just don’t know when
@@Witchblades_nococa it drains you out as a gamer😂
always found it weird that a phase change as cool as maliketh wasn't a 2 separate health bar thing he gets in 2nd stage way too fast
Tiger?
Wolf all the way
He was a wolf just like bidded
dude, thats not what happenned at all. lol.
@@vault29a that's exactly what happened lol, unless you could correct what's wrong? Would love to be clarified fr
@@RuthwikRao maliketh is Marikas shadow like blaidd to aranni, given her by the two fingers, and marika did what always marika does - screw him over.
Absolutely love this series I’ll probably watch it again start to finish when you quit posting it
You've got the best sound track bro. That anime fight climax is so good.
Malaketh uses black flame. You can use it as a incantation. It does damage, lowers your max health, and slowly ticks away your health. It’s honestly broken. I use it in my build
Does the scarlet rot do the same thing?
@@moonie1825 scarlet rot Is basically a really longer poison with slightly higher damage
Maliketh is def my favorite boss.
Been rocking his armor since I got it. Nothing looks cooler imo.
I wear the helm with knight's cavalry chest and blaidd's arms/legs. It's pretty dope
His legs and gauntlets with the prisoner shirt is what I wear on my main character with a gold headband
14:47 literally like a proper anime battle
"LETS FINISH THIS! MALIKETH!"
13:48 "Just a little bit of damage don't hurt nobody"
Nice commentary Afro
I wish they made Maliketh into it's own full HP boss. Absolutely loved this fight
I wouldn’t recommend using that holy sword. The last boss has insane holy damage negation, or it just doesn’t take damage from holy attacks. Either way, don’t use the holy sword.
Heals from it. Kind of silly since it's easy to pour all your upgrade materials into the coded sword and the lightsaber fists as a faith.
@@shumatsuplaran7251 yeah, it sucks how they fucked holy builds so hard in the end game but it makes sense lore wise i suppose
@@shumatsuplaran7251 At least those are just somberstone weapons. 1 stone per upgrade, and the game feels like it's littered with them.
@@madrex512 well only holy damage incantations technically as well as the ones that put status effects I suppose
Can you imagine if Malekith's second phase had its own health bar?
He would legit give Radahn and Malenia a run for their money in the difficulty department
Radahn isn't very hard ever since the nerf
Been waiting on this video for a long time fighting my favorite boss, i enjoyed it very much thx afro

Quick lore/story update if you want to know who/what Maliketh is:
You know how Blaidd was Ranni's shadow?

The fact that Afro’s Kiai/Shout/Battlecry is “CRAMMM” is hilarious
I love how Afro puts music in the game to make the scenes sound so much more bad ass. This is what in my opinion makes him outshine slot of other TH-camrs just for doing tiny details like that for his audience.
