@@ReactToTheWorld Check out more of their stuff. Absolutely amazing band. He's voice is extreme as hell. Also love how little ye pause and just enjoy the music
I remember when I first heard this song 🎵 ,I had just gotten out of the military and NOTHING ELSE SOUNDED like that, and I LOVED IT, then I saw them open for OZZY, NO MORE TEARS tour, MTV HEADBANGERS BALL HALLOWEEN, AND THEY BECAME MY FAVORITE BAND OF ALL TIME.
I dunno bro...? Tuff call, For me, Toss up, Between, Layne Staley, And Chris Cornell, with Chris taking the lead .... Chris Cornell, was a kind of quasi Magi, and Twisted Metal Troubadour, combo....
Hilarious John commenting on Layne's dreamy eyes. Layne had alot of different styles to his looks just as many as the versatility he had with his voice depending on what song he was singing. Really a very unique guy. He looks so angelic without shades and a badass with shades. And agree with a lot of others that said you should watch the live at the Moore show - all songs are amazing.
Hi John & Lulu, I'm a musician and this is one of my top 5 bands also the name came from Singer Layne Staley older band, unfortunately we lost him 4/5/2002🙏we also lost bassist Mike Starr 3/8/2011🙏Guitar player Jerry Cantrell said it was the pressure they felt from radio stations and producers but they felt they were being gagged but the song was so F'n good they had to promote it. Other great Alice in Chains songs are Rooster, Them Bones, Down in a Hole, Would and many more
Jerry Cantrell in an interview said it was about something about the government putting people in some kind of a certain box. The interviews on TH-cam somewhere
The Man in the Box was a man named Doc who lived in a cardboard box in downtown Seattle. He managed to get a job at a local club setting up for shows. One weekend they were setting up a showcase for labels to see the local music scene. Doc got to talking to a lady from a label, they hit it off and she offered him a job. The last they saw of Doc was him heading to LA to work for the label. True story. My husband knew Doc very well
Alice in Chains was the best Grunge, but the band Mother Love Bone paved the way for the what they called the Seattle Sound which became Grunge. Check them out, they're song Chloe Dancer/Crown Of Thrones
AIC is not grunge. STP, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, PJ all not "grunge". It's a marketing term that was applied to Nirvana. It didn't work for other bands and was quickly replaced with the term "alternative". I can agree with that label. They were doing something new and nobody knew how to classify their music.
This is just wrong, that's not how the word grunge was ever used, and "alternative" was widely used well before grunge was a thing. Not sure why you would make up such false histories of music vocabulary
Alice in chains with huge back then and just as huge now, Layne Staley's known as one of the best vocalists of all time.
Dude's voice is rockin
@@ReactToTheWorld Check out more of their stuff. Absolutely amazing band. He's voice is extreme as hell. Also love how little ye pause and just enjoy the music
My favorite singer of all time especially live 😮💨 his name was LAYNE STALEY
Greatest Grunge band of all time. Can't tell me otherwise
I agree!
👍
Same!!
I was lucky enough to see them multiple times with Layne Staley, and HE SOUNDED BETTER LIVE, to me, THAN ON STUDIO RECORDINGS
Love Hate Love live at the Moore is a must watch
As a youngster in 1990, this band was amazing. My favorite tunes from them are "Sea of Sorrow", "Would" & "Them Bones".
Gotta react to Love, Hate Love live at the Moore Theater next.
Love Hate Love (Live at the Moore, 12/90) is a MUST - Layne is in his prime and delivers a master class in vocals.
All Alice in chain song is so good and layne is one of the greatest frontman .Alice in chains should be on Top 10 the greatest band of all time .
Oh yeah and definitely check out more Alice In Chains!

Think the whole farm aspect was referring to how were all just like animals in a prison.

AIC dominated grunge.

Yes please check it out Layne Staley was sick during the unplugged performance
My favorite grunge band
I also forgot to say checkout the Live from Moore theater of Man in the Box
I'd highly suggest reacting to 'Bleed the Freak' from Live at the Moore. 🤗
One of the best voices of all time. Do rooster, would?, love hate love live from the Moore
13 years? This song is 34 years old :). Damn, now I feel really old.
For me, the premier grunge band of the period. Sad to lose Layne. Heavy the first time they do close up, the eyes say so much
RIP Layne 😢

just to say I know you both have heard of Alice Cooper and his real name isn't Alice also?
Only found that out recently!
@@timothybush9633 Alice Cooper's real name is Vince Furnier. They chose the name for the band to be similar to "Lizzie Borden".
My dude! Check out the Howard Jones era of Killswitch Engage! You'll like his voice, I promise. 🤟
It goes in grunge
1. Alice in chains
2. Pearl Jam
3. Stp
4. Nirvana i guess?
Soundgarden?

Ah... makes sense now!
Which Alice in Chains should we react to next?

Purple is my favorite color Alice and chains rock
You could try Stone Temple Pilots
Watch the live version if music videos distract you from the music.
Yeah those lyrics were dark from the start. He was describing the horrible things done to him. To be taken literally.
13 years too late 😩 came out over 30 years ago
When people first hear this, I think, do you know the context? It is a great song if it makes it past it

Videos mean nothing. Resume for directors when they apply for commercials and things.
Rooster was a better song. Stone temple pilots where pretty awesome for a grundge band
Love hate love live at the Moore theatre. Would? Nutshell, down in a hole MTV unplugged 🔥🔥
AIC is the best grunge band ever
When music was actually good.
Jerry Cantrell is the GOAT
