At @11:30, when you were hitting it with the driver, you could see that on strike, the face was a little open in one of the shots. That's what I saw, but I just saw your dad fix it. The man is an excellent teacher. He was patient and observant and made a ball placement and shoulder adjustment. That is gold! I am taking that to the range! - Today's pro would have two assistants holding your a$$ and hips while hooked up to every little matching, and the pro would diagnose you need a complete swing change because ChatGPT told them to. I'll stick with your dad's advice; there is nothing like time and experience. Pop needs to have his own channel (maybe under your brand).

Man I love this! Watched this before I went out for a round today. I’m 38 and quit playing for a decade. Just picked it back up last September and shot my best round since I started back of 85 from the tips of my local municipal! Kept thinking about this small things at setup and it helped so much with distance control and overall shot shape. Actually hit a couple of draws with the driver and I’m a natural fader of the ball. Great stuff Grant! Keep it coming!

Its crazy how the smallest change can get your ball flight right back on target. I sometimes try to reinvent my entire swing thinking I'm doing it all wrong and forgot how to swing the club, when it might just be the ball position or slight grip change. Nice reminder on making the smallest changes until you get it back on target. Its always great to see your Dad on the channel. Cherish these moments, time with your Dad is priceless.

New to the channel Grant, but I’ve been a fan for a while now. Enjoying the content here in the UK.
It’s great that your dad is your swing coach. My dad taught me although he isn’t an actual coach, his knowledge is a as good. I was having troubles myself, just couldn’t compress the ball. Had a round of golf with dad and afterwards he said let’s go hit 50 balls on the range. 50 balls later, compression was back. I was pretty much the same as you. Ball had crept too far forward in stance and I’d developed a flying trail elbow into transition. So I was getting super steep and stuck coming into impact. 20 or so practise balls later feeling elbows get closer together at the top of the swing, ball in better positions in relation to arc and I was back in Compressionville.

Grant…..love both of your channels but the teaching channel always gives me something I can sink my teeth into. I guess that’s why you started it. I’m 73….so older than your dad. I noticed he has some little shakes in his hands but not nearly as bad as mine. He obviously knows more about golf than most of us will ever know. I watch you play a lot and am always impressed by your swing….never forced (even when trying to hit it hard) and always smooth. It amazes me how much club head speed you guys can create and make it look so effortless. It also amazes me how much a tiny adjustment alters the outcome of a swing. I used to hit the ball pretty well (never as good as you) but age has robbed me of the ability to generate speed and I’ve lost a lot of distance…..like half as far as when I was in my 50s. Any tips you can get from your Dad that might help an old fart increase his club head speed without our arms flying off might make a good teaching session.

I see a LOT of alignment videos talking about the sticks, and how you use them to line up your feet parallel to the target. What i don't see very often (or ever, outside of a single Mark Crossfield vid i've seen) is how to control a golfer that lets his SHOULDERS get out of whack with where his feet and hips are pointing. It happens to my son a lot, and i actually see it from a lot of golfers when they get on a tee box that is not pointed straight down the fairway. And that ball almost 100% of the time travels in the direction their shoulders are aimed at when they take initial address.

“85% of this game at least is setup” are the most true words spoken in golf instruction. I always see videos trying to fix other areas of a swing but the student can’t really perform the move because they’ve already killed any chance of doing it before they ever start to swing the club.

I love this. I'm 62 and the only human to consistently get worse every year for 44 years. (I started out poorly) 44 to me is a decent 9 holes. I've had one eagle, maybe a cheap bucket o' birdies, mostly over time boges. And, of course the the frustrating triples and worse. I'm headed much like a mule. Never an actual lesson. Just this. The year, I started hammering the ball (compared to my golfing buddies). I have one question before I say, "I love this stinking game! " When you blast one, is it supposed to feel like it's attached to the club face for a split second?

Grant where is your dad teaching and what does he charge. I've taken one or two lessons in my life (at age 47) -I can't remember- and love his "fundamentals" style. I'm in Ponte vedra.. Is he in Stuart? I played on the ADT and minor regular tours in Asia for 15 years. Of course I got tips from the other players = mini lessons but know nothing of how I can improve my swing. Maybe your dad can help. I want to play on the over 50 tours now. I stopped playing on the reg tour at age 64 in 2020 due to injuries. Thanks
