    LOL! Those locks are worthless with the right crook. 30 years ago I had a high dollar bike I was particularly proud of. I bought a high dollar Kryptonite lock. One morning I went out to ride my Fuji to class... and it was gone. All that was left were some shards of the lock. It would appear the thieves either packed the lock in dry ice, or liquid nitrogen... and then just broke it with a hammer. I verified this with a new lock and dry ice.

    HAS IT EVER OCCURRED TO BICYCLE LOCK MANUFACTURERS THAT A THIEF CAN EASILY USE A "HACKSAW" TO CUT THE DAMNED LOCK. WITH A GOOD HACKSAW YOU CAN JUST ABOUT CUT ANY PIECE OF STEEL EASILY

    • @GuyRWood
      @GuyRWood 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      No, you can't. The teeth of a hacksaw will just skitter over hardened steel. An angle grinder however will cut straight through any steel regardless of how well hardened it is.

    • @taiwanluthiers
      @taiwanluthiers 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe if they make a bike lock encased in tungsten carbide, as angle grinder will not cut through that, but if you put a diamond saw on the angle grinder, then nothing will stop that. Maybe if you put soft compound in the tungsten carbide matrix so any attempt to cut it with abrasives would cause it to gum up making it take much longer to cut...
