I enjoyed seeing how the chili sauce was made even though I can never have any. It's just fun to see the process. As for the credit/debit cards, some banks in the US print their own onsite which is nice so you don't have to wait a week or more to access money. Yes, you can go withdraw some but nowadays most people don't like to carry cash.

You know, watching an older show like this one, where they quote statistics from 2007 and they talk about the "high-tech magnetic strip" on credit cards, I wonder if there's a "How it Works"/"How it's Made" show from the 1970's or 1980's.Those could be interesting.

Technology Tomorrow I think was what it was called, they do demonstrations of computers and harddrives from the 80's I think. Long before my time, but really interesting that they did things like that on tv!

The only thing my friends and I have ever used blocks of ice for, was this big brick we carved a tunnel in so we could take vodka shots (one person pours it down the shoot, the other puts their mouth at the ice to drink it). 🤣

As an Ice Sculptor I can tell you that it's frozen in liquid nitrogen & hard AF. It'll ricochet a .50 cal. bullet. After 3 blocks your chainsaw blade is shot & go to your #2 saw. Knives & chisels need to be made of surgical steel & ain't cheap.

Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?

The crooks are always one step ahead. Today a magstrip reader, tomorrow a chip reader or a clone. After all it's only technology and nobody's got a monopoly on ideas.

the chip generates a different code per transaction tho. so its secure as long as older magnetic stripe is disabled, some virtual cards also have different ccv every transaction

Gambling is taking what you do not have, and gaming is for entertainment with money that you would spend on the entry to Disney Land alone. And from there you are guaranteed to end up with no chance of a win!

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA...and Dam this show is HATING on gambling tough!! Lol he just makes it seem like you have no chance of winning at all! I agree slot machines are not a way to make money, and the odds of losing are much much higher than the chance of winning. But the narrator made it seem like it’s impossible to win ! Lol I play sports betting, poker and blackjack. Slot machines are for suckers, and I always tell my mom this, but she says it’s not about winning or losing. She just enjoys playing and finds it relaxing. There’s nothing wrong with it until you start to bet with money you can’t afford to lose. Once you are trying to win money back you lost or attempt to make money you need. 💰 🎰 ♠️ ♥️ ♣️♦️🃏🏧💯

Those damn chip cards.... They took a GREAT system and fucked it up... Since these damn cards hit all of the retailers it takes LONGER to complete the sale... When I was sent one, I opened the envelope the "chip" was in the envelope and not in the card... So I had to do the 3 attempts to read the chip, then swipe the magnetic strip, funny as it USUALLY is faster to do the 3 attempts and swipe, than it is to use the damn chip. Oh and the bank sent me a new card, the chip actually got caught in the machine... No more chip, and there is no way in hell I am paying for a new card.... It pisses off the cashiers, when the attempts are being made and they clear the attempts, or when they act like they know everything about the cards, and customers are brain dead.... I use my card at least 5 times a day, I know how it works... One pissed me off, talked to me like a child, I told her where to stick the items she rang up, and left the store without the purchase. All this BS over some stupid chip

People who use debit cards are being extremely foolish. I won't have one in my name. USA Federal Regulations, customer rights and safeguards are not the same between credit cards and debit cards. People do foolish things all the time and always will.

    • @Reb10999
      @Reb10999 5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

I beg to differ. I have had debit cards since 1986. I have had ONE issue and my bank caught it and refunded everything that was taken. I am NOT extremely foolish. The foolish use credit cards and carry balances. I do not do that.

I haven't had a credit card in over 15 years and don't want another. I just carry my debit card and when I worked I carried fuel point cards and company ID. If we can't afford it we don't get it.
