I like that they portray ymir as the curious and mostly non violent creature,I say that because like any curious animal in a new place he saw and heard the farm animals and went to see what they were and but because they didn't try to hurt him he didn't kill the sheep, horses and chickens...and after eating some seec he learns it was something good to eat so took advantage of his situation and started to eat(hes a growing boy after all 😊)but while he wasn't bothering anyone or anything because they weren't hurting him but when he eventually saw a chance to run instead of keep fighting he took it,as he got bigger he understood he became a easier thing to find so took to the water, but eventually he was killed because all he new was while some humans are kind and compassionate, others are cruel, violent and evil.

The Ymir is surely one of Harryhausen's most tragic and sympathetic creatures; these and the sad fate of the Selenites in First Men in The Moon (wiped out by a human cold) confirm to me that Harryhausen was at his most tragic when aliens were involved (the Flying Saucers notwithstanding).

Escena magnífica, movimientos fluidos del lagarto y mostrando sentimientos en su mirada, curiosidad y a veces ternura!
Quizás la creatura que más me gusta de las hechas por ray harryhausen.
