I love how the elephant was legit ready to square up as soon as it saw the monster, but the monster was taken by surprise by the fact that the moment it got out there was an animal big enough to challenge the monster and rearing to fight the monster too.
In both this and Valley of Gwangi the elephant is the one who starts the fight, and both times it eats shit.
In the name of all Earthling creatures, we will never forget your bravery.

Sad thing is, it's pretty obvious the Ymir didn't want to fight; if anything, it actually seemed afraid of the elephant... unfortunately, Dumbo just wouldn't give up! RiP
( _'Realistically' speaking, the elephant would've likely backed off after the first couple of knockdowns, since it would deem the alien too dangerous to mess with... still, directors licence, & all that jazz_ )
Great scene from "20 Million Miles To Earth" where the Giant Ymir from Venus battles the elephant. Ray Harryhausen's stop/action special effects were outstanding as usual. A great Science Fiction Classic from 1957. I was only 8 years old when I saw this at the movies. The color version makes it even more other worldly.
I am torn between feeling sorry for the elephant and cursing the elephant's stupidity for starting the fight.

The elephantforgot he had white pointy things on the front of his face He also forgot about the footstomp 10000 pounds coming down on you with his foot would have killed that thing
That elephant also forgot that thing is big as well, and has hands to grapple with big animals and has sharp ass claws, and teeth, to cut through its skin.
And it seems smart enough to avoid getting impaled by the elephant and was strong enough to bust through a steel concrete wall, also the elephant was in captivity so it probably didn't know how to actually fight animals at its size level the elephant did try to impale it but it has hands to keep the elephant away from getting stabbed,still feel sad for the elephant.

Have any of you guys ever played any of the Rampage games? A lot of us including myself when we played those games believed that Lizzie was designed after godzilla but Brian Colin the game designer for the first rampage game has revealed that Lizzie was designed after the Ymir.

I never seen the movie,but I like how they show once he woke up Ymir was probably still slightly dizzy from be I assume being tranquilized) but as he woke up he looked around the place he was being held,and like any wild animal he probably got scared and confused as he eventually gets out to find his home,but once he's our he sees not only is he very far away from where he's more familiar but he sees a creature as big as him and like any creature,but here's the Sad thing, it's obvious that Ymir didn't want to fight but he was instead trying to escape but was taken by surprise by the fact that the moment he got out there's an animal he's never seen before that's big enough to be able to rear up to fight him too.... So if anything,he actually seemed afraid of the elephant.but while it's been confirmed that the elephant is injured but alive, when the elephant charged ymir attacked to defend himself.
