Thank you for filming these sew alongs! It's super helpful when I can't visualize a step from the written instructions. I can't wait to start making this dress. Love you're designs, it's always exciting when you release a new pattern. Cheers!
Hi Chelsea. I just wanted to say thank you, thank you, thank you. I am fairly new to sewing, I have sewing knits mainly but have decided to increase my skills set. I purchased the Davenport pattern late last year at the start of my sewing journey, but was too afraid to tackle it. Well, on Wednesday I cut into some fabric godmother viscose sateen (yeah, that's a slippery lesson I've learnt!), I followed your video instructions and took my time. I am absolutely bloody ecstatic with my now (Thursday evening!) finished gorgeous frock. Thank you for a beautiful dress pattern and really easy to follow instructions, from one happy girl 😁.
You did a fantastic job of teaching how to sew the Davenport dress. I followed every step you showed and now I have this gorgeous dress, too. Thank you!
Hello! You could add it to the ruffle by just making it longer. Or if you want to add to the body of the skirt, I would slash and spread below the pockets. Hope that helps!
I was going to do this in a drapier semi-sheer fabric and underline some key pieces. I wanted to do a french seam for the seams that need to be finished but all of those seams have a gathered piece of fabric associated in them. Any other finishes to recommend?

It was so helpful to see how the yokes all come together. Thank you!
Such a cute pattern! I can’t wait to make one. And thank you for taking the time to film a sewalong. Very helpful!

Fantastic video! You gave me the courage to attempt this dress. If someone wanted to add length to the dress where would you suggest to add it to?

That sounds gorgeous!
@@FridayPatternCompany What about the suggestion for a finish since French probably won't work because of the bulk from the gathers and the small S/A?
My awesome friend
What are you using for your pressing mat?
It is a piece of heat resistant fabric! I talk about it in this video: th-cam.com/video/fwfwcndFgnQ/w-d-xo.html
what size was this?
