When my 3 siblings and I were in high school and middle school the show Iron Chef was popular. We would each get 1 bag of Ramen noodles and a set amount of time and free reign of the kitchen to compete against eachother to see who could make the best version. It was a mess and a hysterical blast and this video brought back those memories. I love this! ❤️

We love ramen in our house! I agree that those flavor packets do not add much flavor. When I make ramen for myself, usually chicken ramen, I add a half teaspoon of chicken Better Than Bouillon and a few shakes of ranch seasoning. That's just for a quick lunch. I definitely want to try these versions!

I cooked with ramen noodles for years. I was a truck driver, and there wasn't any way to be too creative in the sleeper cab, so starting with something that doesn't need too much preparation was essential. Hence ... Ramen! I stopped driving a few years ago, but there's still one dish that I make at home that is a direct leftover from my driving days. I break up the noodles and then "cook" them by putting them into a bowl with only enough water to go half way up the largest pieces. Microwave for one minute, then flip the large pieces over and microwave for another minute. The noodles will be softer enough to eat but not real loose. Add a can of chicken (or tuna), a can of vegetables (I have used peas, French cut green beans, and corn. It's just as good with any of them), and a very small dash of Sriracha. Mix well and microwave for another minute or minute and a half. It's great!

There is a noodle dish i like to make for kinda like a brunch dish. I start out with putting n a little butterm garlic, onions, and some bacon bits. Let simmer a minute or two to let the flavors blend, dump in the cooked noodles and stir around to coat well. Then, the odd, but delicious ingredient....2 or 3 beaten eggs. Its like frien rice, but with noodles. Not sure if I saw this on pinterest or if it is just something I experimented with, but it is good.
You can really do so much with those bland noodles.

I love fixing up ramen my own ways too! Thank you for some simple yet delicious ways to dress up boring ramen. I make ramen to be eaten with a broth. To the broth I add 1 packet of the seasoning, soy sauce, garlic, onion, chili oil, miso paste. I top it in the bowl with Parmesan cheese, red chili flakes, nori, and a soft boiled egg. It’s better than any ramen place in town 🍜

A quick 5 min recipe. I'm from Utah and we have Wingers out here. They have a Winger Amazing Sauce you can buy, kind of sweet with a hot kick. Cook your ramen (without the seasoning packet) add frozen mixed vegetables to the water and drain. I then add diced rotisserie chicken and green onions. Top with 1/2 cup of Wingers sauce. So easy and taste great.

I love Ramen for lunch on a cold day with the flavour packs. That's because I like it as soup. I could eat soup for every meal. I do add onions or soy sauce to punch up the flavour. I also break up the noodles when they are dry in the package. I can't use chop sticks, and it saves my clothes from sloping!

I made the Garlic Butter Ramen this week. It was a great side - quick and easy.
My one tip: Make it Right before the rest of your meal is ready. It cooked Really fast!

I've been doing a little testing using Ramen for different things. I think the best advice is to under cook it by a minute when your using them in other ways.

All 3 of those looked amazing but I do have to say I can't handle that much heat but the rest of it sounds good. Poor Gracie Lou didn't get her cheese but maybe next time. Thank you Mandy for giving some great ideas on Ramen and we'll see you next time.

My husband's favorite way to eat ramen is with kielbasa sausage, lightly fried with onion, add broth and ramen noodles then when that is done add whipped eggs and scramble them up in the noodles and sausage. He insists that I cook the ramen in the season packet, so I use one packet with 3 blocks of ramen, then add some soy sauce (not much, as I don't like things salty). Sometimes he does not want the sausage in it, big surprise as he is a big meat eater. I did not like ramen till I tried it this way. Now I make it a couple times a month. Think I will add some garlic next time and see how it goes.

Mandy, did you notice that when you put the oil in the pan for the spicy noodles that it formed an M? That put a big smile on my face. I liked the first recipe the best, and will be making that soon. Thanks for sharing. God Bless. xxoo

I take the Vietnamese Beef Pho ramen bowls from Costco, which comes with a packet of chili oil. I take the Kirkland brand canned chicken breast, brown about a third or fourth of a can in the chili oil, with green onion, add some low sodium chicken or beef broth, pour it in the bowl with the seasoning/vegetable pack and top it off with hot water, let it sit with the noodles in the cup for the suggested four minutes...Phenomenal!. I sometimes add, garlic powder, onion powder and cayenne pepper or fresh cut jalapeños. Unbelievably good. Might try this with regular ramen noodles too. I bet all these recipes would be good with some canned chicken breast, for protein, just saying!. I just love broth with my noodles.

Mandy I substituted ramen for spaghetti. This is a recipe for single serving. I triple the recipe for 4. Bake 4 pieces Tilpia Add salad, for my guests.
    Lemons Butter Shrimp
    Zest one lemon
    Melt 2 tbsp butter, 1tsp
minced garlic, cook one min, add lemon and 3 tbsps noodles water, 1/2 cup shrimp. Cook til pink.
Opt. Bake Fish with lemon, Butter, and copped pecans.
( With salad it's a filling meal for dinner)

I agree about the taste. I usually drain the liquid and add some Chinese stir-fry sauce for flavor.

The trick to ramen is to cook the noodles, drain all but 1/4 cup of liquid, add butter & seasoning pack. Its creamy & super flavor packed. My husband taught me this & I never made it the "normal" way again!

I buy the dehydrated vegetable mix at my local wynco. I'll add about a tablespoon to the water when I first turn on the heat. I add the spice packet just after the noodles are done. The onions carrots and spices add a nice flavor and my young niece loves it!
