- THANK YOU ALL FOR 4,096 (2¹²) SUBSCRIBERS!
To celebrate this achievement, I will present #chopin #ballade No. 1 in G minor (Op. 23) but it's cursed / remixed / #liszt ified / godowskified. The audio soundtrack is without ossias. Note: this piece has multiple instances of canon/imitation.
This is currently my second longest video (the current longest is "Chopin sCURSEDzo No. 2": • Chopin sCURSEDzo No. 2 ), so kudos to anyone who watched till the end.
Sorry that this video came kinda late - I was totally not expecting to hit 4,096 at this time. I was originally going to use Ballade 1 for my 128 subscriber special - but I missed out on that.
An experiment video about Ballade 1 that I uploaded 6 weeks back: • Experiment: Ballade 1 ...
0:08 Intro
0:48 A (G minor)
1:41 Transition

4:26 A (A minor)
4:53 B (A major)
5:29 Transition
5:45 Y (Eb major)
6:25 B (Eb major)
6:52 C (Eb major)
7:37 A (G minor)
8:15 Coda
Original: • Chopin - Ballade No. 1... (Arthur Rubinstein)
#ysaye (for violin): • Ballade No. 1 in G Min...
Errors:
• bar 75 ossia, beat 3, right hand chord should be F-Ab-D, not F#-Ab-D
• bars 209 and 213 ossia 1, on the 6th eighth note, right hand chord should be C-Gb-C, not C-G-C
#youlieinapril #thepianist #godowsky - เพลง
I like how the coda is incorporated into 4:54
Something grand is in the air...
It’s honestly incredible how difficult and detailed your arrangements are while still being pianistic and not too far fetched
It’s just a beautiful score to look at
This is insanely farretched what are you taking about
@@thejewknows5744 you’ve never listened to Sorabji
It’s not
Listen to some Liszt operatic transcriptions
And some Godowsky
8:47 onwards is pure genius
I liked 0:01 and everything after
When Chopin turns into Rachmaninov (esp. ossia 2)
Chopin's ballad with rach's prelude and Chopin's waltzes mixed flawlessly,
You're definitely a genius
I have always wished I could re-live hearing Ballade 1 for the first time again. Listening to this piece made me feel that same level of joy and excitement again! Thank you so much for this masterpiece!
Its super weird, but I feel that way too! Perhaps it strikes a perfect balance between familiarity and newness?
Once again, you proved your godowski-esque mastery with this beautiful arrangement. We definitely yearn for more!!
this is honestly more so genius than cursed.
nice job, can't wait for 8192
2:28 winter wind in the ossia
2:56 super mario bros (then there is also moonlight 3rd movement in the ossia right after it)
4:35 that one violin piano piece that i cannot name (edit: it's elgar salut d'amour)
5:16 another piece that i cannot name (some have suggested scherzo 2, but i am not sure)
5:50 grande valse brilliante
6:07 this is so obscure but it is the transition from the development to the recapitulation in beethoven's symphony 7 first movement
6:29 is that the star spangled banner i hear?
7:45 there's something in there i can't figure out what it is
8:18 rach g minor prelude heard in the recording but more obvious in ossia 2
9:05 cadenza from moonlight 3rd movement
i think 4:35 is Edgar's Salut d'amor
also i heard while in B 4:53, theres some hints of the coda which is really nice lol
@@rejedydefinitely it’s the Elgar!
5:16, winter wind etude, isn’t it?
@@AlbertoSegovia. don't think it's winter wind, can't hear it
@@cloverisfan818it’s the 2nd scherzo! The winter wind should come up to me because of some kind of auditory illusion; just had heard the etudes before,
you are a legend whose works will be remembered :)
I agree to a high extent
Love the question and answer at 6:53 it's like a conversation between two um... birds? idk LOL
Also the coda (2nd one lmao) sounds more crunchy and rich than a peanut butter brownie wowowow
Sounds so epic! Waiting for the 8192 subscriber special and 16384 and 32768 and
You don’t even have to wait until 8192 for my next subscriber special - that would be at 5120.
@@ValkyRiver ah of course
this is absolutely brilliant. i’m practicing this ballade right now and this feels so similar yet so different. i may have to attempt arranging this for two pianos one day this would be such a crazy project
This is amazing! Great job! I love it :)
holy smokes you've done it again. bravo bravisimo I love this so much thank you a thousand times over for this "curse." wonderful
Honestly really fricking impressive. You should consider writing a theme and variations if you haven’t already. I’d be excited to hear it.
What a work of genius! Can't wait to hear the version with all the ossias!
Je pense que Chopin aurait adoré. Il aimait jouer des contre-chants pendant qu'un élève jouait une de ses propres oeuvres ( source : Chopin vu par ses élèves ). Bel hommage, bravo !
Incredible arrangement. Thank you
Superb!! Best thing I’ve heard in a long while!
the level of skill in this composition remix of various pieces is absolutely amazing. I still have a lot more room to grow as a composer. Wonderful job on this piece of music.
1:43 measures 27-31 feel like they belong in the piece. the duality of the voices makes so much sense
Symphonic Metamorphosis of Themes by Chopin’s Ballade
My admiration to this grandiose *upgrade* . The original is already difficult, let alone this Godowskiesque arrangement.
This is 100% something Marc-Andre Hamelin would love to play!
It's genuinely scary how good this is
Thanks for the super grand music! ❤
Honestly this is more blessed than cursed. Amazing medley.
Chopin’s works are considered genius due to its simplistic nature and many subtleties that various pianists bring out different parts, leading to a colorful range of performances where every piece by every other person is clearly distinguished.
This score has done a perfect job in destroying both simplicity and subtlety, ruining Chopin’s genius. Therefore, it sounds extremely cursed.
I have to give you remarks for some genius moments, like that e major return of theme B combined with the coda.
Otherwise it sounded messy and cursed with other remarks like the e flat major valse waltz and a few others.
Conclusion: you did amazing
I liked it. Thanks for uploading.
All is taken to the very fringes and sometimes beyond into another gain. Too many qualities to mention, but an excellent harmonic work and subtle humour. Hard to match but I am sure you will manage it somehow. What a composer you are!
Genius as always
You have just earned yourself a subscriber
Welcome 😂
I love this ironically
I was expecting way worse, you cooked right here
This is just crazy what
Very cool! Personally not a fan, but the work you've put into this is incredible
Very nice 😮
3:10 I madly love the counterpoint of this section
masterpiece
It really upsets me that these aren’t famous yet
That Rach connection is crazy and transcendent. It connects late romantic marcia with Chopin’s time.
This is inspiring. Wish i had big hands
Well… there’s this thing called PASK
paskpiano.com
(narrow keyboards)
I laughed out loud several times, lololololol the WALTZ omggg
As someone who has played Ballade no. 1, this is genius.
brilliant
Amazing
BRAVO VINCE!!! 👏
Cursed idea, but pefectly executed💀
2:50
quazi super mario bros 😂😂😂😂😂
You are genius😅😅😅
The curse we wanted
Can you post another video with the ossia line? The winterwind in there etc looked interesting 🙂
I feel like this would be amazing using many intruments instead of just piano
I’d love to listen to the ossia as well 😂
2:35 chopin etudes chillin on the top
This is sick!!! Lol
This is better than the original
I believe Marc-André Hamelin can play this version! 😆
Chopin would flip in his grave😢
5:45 lol
Do you write this at the piano or just directly onto the score?
Godowskified lol
Oh no… 😱
bro added winter wind passage at 2:37
could you make a video of a synthesia version?
I’d like to listen to ossia version too!
If someone were to premiere this work, would you prefer they perform the main text or the ossias?
Of course you'd be here
Are you playing yourself or is it rendered through some software ?
This was rendered through Sibelius and NotePerformer, though I did had to add hundreds of hidden marking for the playback to “sound right”
I won't mind learning this bad boy! Have a link for it?
4:29 A quote from E. Elgar?
This is one of the most playable things you've written. Any chance we could have the score? 😁
I think all of his pieces are playable 😊
Can I download the score
Quasi super mario bros 😂😂😂
please have my babies Valky.
Lavoro pazzesco ,ma chopin è chopin, meglio la Sua
8:11
You destroyed my favorite piece 😠 😭
Jk this is awesome
Amazing! I am fairly certain you have captured what Chopin _meant_ to say. We can finally put to rest the long standing question: What would Ballade no1 look like if Chopin had simply been more diligent and played all the notes called for?
Today is a day with about 30% packet loss, which means I had the additional enhancement of a stochastic fallback mechanism at the TCP/IP level deciding when the playback would pause. This provided additional insights of course into the phraseology by providing the contrast of interpolating an abstract and arbitrary length silence which clarified and explained the rare artistic silences in the work.
On a second listen without these additional pauses, I can somehow more clearly feel the dance form to which Chopin is referring in his attempt at the piece. Although leading my partner as propriety demands, I am aware that the circumstances which cause my feet to move are somehow not of my making. Like my (unfortunate) partner I am being dragged along in this system of a dance while having no genuine autonomy of my own - even the influence I have over my partner is determined by newtonian physics and the path and timing of my own footsteps - things I had no choice in whatsoever. Yet, I am having a splendid time despite it all.
That's how powerful this arrangement is.
Wait what the heck… is this AI-generated?
But anyway, we can just groove 💃🕺
@@ValkyRiver!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️ the what? If this is AI generated then I fear we all are.
This is the second time this has happened with one of my comments lately. The last was directly smacked down by TH-cam as AI generated and probably seen by no one.
I talk all day to AI, perhaps I have picked up on its peculiarities.
But we go on. Excellent music, from a fellow self defined organic sentient.
@@cemacmillan I’m so sorry. No wonder why it looked AI-generated - you studied the AI style.
But anyway, let’s just groove 💃🕺
Nice subscriber count.
"4.17k" subscribers though.
I was a bit late… sorry
4.23K now🎉
5:50 lmao
that bass at 9:06 is so epic
4096 = 2048 × 2
How and Where could i get a copy of the scores? Thanks.
