That's a good question. Heavy work or yoga causes internal shearing forces inside the vitreous gel and can cause sudden changes in its attachment to the retina. This can lead to formation of retinal holes or tears.

Very useful informative video for me because from last 7 to 8 days I notice shadow like a hair with incent like object moving around left eye. My eye number is high. So consulted retina exert who confirmed it a floater and started treatment prescribed me (1) Carboxymethylcellulose eye drop brand name Mytear (2) vitreon sachet. Eye exercise and eating pineapple is effective for floaters?
Eye excercise may infact increase floaters and have no scientifically proven benefits.
One study has shown reduced floaters with daily pineapple intake for long time, but there are several flaws in it. But if you are not allergic and not diabetic, then there is no harm in trying.

I was straining my eyes alot not taking good sleep staying up all night using alot of phone and computer since my proffesion requires it. So is that the reason for sudden eye floaters!? One night I stayed up till morning and when I went out I was seeing floaters and its been 10 days since then and they have not gone away. Should I be concerned and take a risk of going to hospital in such pandemic scene?. Please suggest
Only eye strain will not cause floaters. If these are new floaters then you should have a retina check up. A good eye hospital will be following all precautions regarding COVID19 and it should be safe for a single visit. All the best

Hi. FOV does not guarantee 100 % floater removal. It will only reduce the number of floaters. It is reserved only for patients with vision reduction due to floaters or severe symptoms such that it hampers their daily work. All surgeries have some inherent risk however small that may be.

Any flash indicates a pull on the retina. You should avoid sudden jerks to the body. Also a detailed retina check up needs to be done.

I am 18 year old and I am experiencing floaters about 1 years, whenever I see in the sky it irritates me a lot. So can you give me some advice to cure it(I am very afraid of any surgery 😣).
Hello. What you are seeing may not be floaters but something called 'Blue field entoptic phenomenon'. It is completely normal. If they are Floaters, they will go on their own, but it may take years. Just have annual retina check up. Keep good hydration.

Sir I'm around -5D in both eyes.(age 23yrs).I feel the existance of floaters from last 6 months.I've no retinal problem after checking in the previous month.is it normal?does everyone has it?.I'm distressed when I work in front of computer screen.(eye movement from keyboard to monitor),but this does not affect when I use smartphone.How much time it take to recover such distressing moment sir?
Please don't worry as your retina has been already checked. Floaters reduce with time, but in young age may take several years. Just keep regular retina checkup atleast once a year and keep good hydration. All the best

Eye excercise can infact increase your floaters. Trifla water is not proven, it may cause irritation or allergy.
Sir whenever I do my work for more hours I feel something stuck in my eyes and feels something has come infront my eyes and seeing light rays around lights when I close my eyes and re-open it , it disappears . It happens only few time .

There is a special laser for floaters but according to me it's not very effective and can have side effects also. Best is to ignore them. Once you start to ignore floaters, they disappear like magic

I have checked with eye specialist that i.have floaters in my eyes from past 6 months and he did not recommend any medicen or somthing i am 42 years and been wearing glasses for distance over 30 years they did nt send .me to retina specialist and said its normal .

Hello. Different countries have different protocols for manament of floaters. If floaters increase or you get flashes then a retina check up by a specialist is definitely warranted.

Floaters are absolutely normal. Whenever you get new floaters or flashes, your retina should be checked in detail for weak areas. Otherwise you should not worry, floaters will reduce on their own but may take years. Ignoring them is the most effective way to tackle them. Just keep good hydration and have regular retina check up. All the best

Any increase in floaters warrants a repeat retina check-up. You should get a repeat retina check-up. Nothing to worry if it's normal.

I underwent LASEK treatment in both eyes.left had -7 right was-5.in2015
In 2019 Due to some accident RD surgery happened in right eye.
Ilost vision completely
Unfortunately my left also got problem .
I could not see even I use power glasses.

My left eye has some specific problem.
If I see small light on my laptop with my left eye,it looks like big circle.
This look like Starbursts, halos.
I checked up with doctor , she advised if it increases you can come here.

Hello. First of all you should have a detailed retina evaluation by a qualified fellowship-trained retina specialist. Increasing floaters and occurrence of flashes indicates pull on the retina which can lead to breaks. Timely detection and treatment will prevent any further damage. You should avoid sudden bending or lifting heavy weights. All the best.

Keep good hydration, try not to pay attention to floaters and have regular and detailed retina checkup.
Dr I'm just 21 years old. I'm too much annoyed with eye floaters. Fo you think i should be suffering from Diabetes or high blood pressure? Also is there any ayurvedic medication would you recommend? Thanks in advance.
Only if you have family history of diabtes / high BP or if weight is high and lifestyle is healthy.
Personally I dont prefer Ayurved for eye treatments.

If there is any weakness in the retina it is best to avoid heavy workouts.

Yes it may happen. Dont worry, get a retina check up to make sure there are no weak areas. Floaters will reduce on their own.

Unfortunately there is no medicine to get rid of floaters. All you have to do is choose to ignore them. Believe me, they'll stop bothering you. Keep good hydration and get annual retina check-up.

Is there any medicine in any form whether by way of eye drops or orally administrably to remove floaters. I have undergone laser treatment. Size of floaters is reduced but string with fly comes in range of my vision. I am 63 years old and left eye has -8 power. What should I do. Plz. advice
Unfortunately there is no medicine to treat eye floaters. Most floaters reduce with time. Just keep good hydration. If you are not diabetic and not allergic, you can try pineapple. But it has to be taken daily for atleast 3 months to show any effect. In some cases it does help.

hello sir my mom has floater problem she has already done eye operation of motiyabind from shroff hospital one year ago. now she checkup from docter up again then doctor told them about floater problem and said that if you will see more flashes then you have to come for checkup..and she is very upset about her visibility for future so please suggest .
Please don't worry. Floaters reduce with time. May take a few months to years though. Just have regular retina checkup and avoid sudden jerks to the body. All the best.

Sir I had adenoviral conjunctivitis 2m15days back after a week doc in LVPEI gave Pred forty drops after 15days doc again gave Pred forty and cyclosporine drops I had used to 2m15days but vision is blurry sir. today I went again doc told me that use only cyclosporine drops 3times a day for 1month.in this between I had got floters also sir I had checked today they said everything ok. Sir is there any treatment for corneal infiltrates and eye floaters. Please help me out.
Corneal infiltrates can happen after adenoviral conjunctivitis. They take time to go, sometimes even upto a year and can reoccur also. You are being given the right treatment and you should follow it. Floaters per se are not harmful and your retina has been checked by a retina specialist then not to worry, floaters reduce with time. Thanks Doctor..really helpful and informative video. I have pathological myopia minus 13. I'm 25 and have been wearing glasses for 18 years. I have lattice in both eyes and hole in the left eye. I will do laser soon. But I see no floaters as such...just very few on very bright light or clear blue sky only. My vitreous is liquified. The problem I face is - I see dark flickering light along the corner and periphery of my eyes. Both eyes. I see it after waking up in the morning and night before sleep. I see it for long hours 2-3 hours or more. But retina specialist didn't mention anything about pvd and I also don't see anything except the lattice and hole.
Please give me your opinion sir. What are these dark flickering?
