    This is a great review. I think more people need to give Cadillac a chance, go for a test drive, and *experience* the brand's vehicles without prejudice.

    Thank you for the refreshingly unbiased review of the CT5 V. I've owned all generations of the CTS, and they have all been very reliable and very fun to drive. My 2018 CTS is crazy fun and handles better than the Germans in the class. But auto reviewers too often start trashing the Caddy before they even sit in it. Love the review and you two make a good team, more interesting to have the conversation than just talking to the camera. Keep showing the other biased reviewers how to be professional.

      Most American TH-cam car reviewers trash Cadillac because of their recent past reputation, of memories of miserable 80s-90s Cadillacs. It's not easy to shake that off, which is why even if the modern lineup is stellar and very competitive they won't rank it high up because of subjectivity. Other people who owned old Cadillacs would also jump to the same conclusion without even giving the new cars a fair chance.

    Great video guys. Love you both. I think one important and noteworthy aspect of the car that is going unnoticed, is that it's almost a midsize car at nearly 194 inches (and a massive wheel base of 116 inches) and it's priced more like the compacts like the C class and the 3 Series. If you had one priced one at 65K, fully optioned levels, the 3 series will go way beyond those prices. Cadillac is back with their twiners.

    I was such a big fan of the 1980 two-tone (silver/black) Cadillac Seville, that I nearly bought a 6 year old one (used obviously). Yeah, ... the one with that ‘razor-edged bustle-back rear styling’. Thank God I didn’t! Reliability aside, I don’t know if I could have handled its ‘whopping’ ...135 h.p. front wheel drive performance. Instead... My ex-girlfriend bought a Vette! New! Sadly, it was the less enticing Chevrolet Chevette. That’s when I knew I was with the wrong one! I’ve always been a fan of Cadillac. This was new one didn’t disappoint me. I like it a lot. Great review Guys and nice coordination of outfits (Andrea). Thanks for another entertaining video.

    Great review, One thing I really like about the two of you, is that you both dress very very well. This is what too me makes your channel so classy. In this vid your wife's wearing very sumner attire but elegant in style and your dressed casually but very masculine sheik. Then the cadi just ups the whole vid which onvits own in black I agree is an eye opener. I'm not a GM fan but its seems Cadillac is trying to make buying their new cars on par with buying one between the the 1950s and mid 1980s before they lost sight of tge Cadillac customer buying pleasure and showroom experience. THOSE were Cadillac's hey day of great sales and customer loyalty.

    I know that this is an older video. Still, regarding the turning circle - I have a '23 RWD CT5-V and its turning circle is a very decent 39'. The car tested here is AWD and unfortunately that adds 1.7' to the turning circle. I had a similar experience with my AWD gen2 CTS - whenever I drove a RWD loaner, I was blown away with the difference.

    Tea, toast and Team Andrea here on another sunny Saturday Saint John New Brunswick morning. I'd love to see the two of you do a review of the CT6 with a V8, like you both I binged watched every season of Ray Donovan and thought the Cadillac in that series was a great looking car. If you like the Boston accent then you'd love the Southwest New Brunswick accent which overlaps with the Downeast Maine accent which as you continue to travel down the coast morphs into the Boston accent.

    Was considering the new TLX. I've been waiting for the 2021 Acura Type S and been saving for it. But they released the specs and info for it yesterday and even as a Honda fan, they messed that car up. So now I'm considering other brands for the first time. I would normally never look at Cadillac but this is nice. Just wondering what the quality of the interior is like, is it plastic junk the most GM's are known for? good review again folks. You should consider doing a quick night shot on these cars, especially ones like this with cool led door handles and proximity lighting.

    Even though this car is longer than the 5 Series, it has the interior volume of the 3 Series, which is why they compare it to the compacts, I guess? This CT5-V is very competitively priced, even against the compacts. The fully loaded G70 is 58K, while the fully loaded M340i is 80K. 65K for the Caddy seems pretty good!

    I was a Cadillac fan for awhile, buying new ones and being totally disappointed. The new $55,000 ATS broke down after just 300 miles and after that was in the shop 15 more times in 8 months. The $70,000 CTS broke down after driving it for 300 miles and went into the shop 7 more times in a few years. The $88,000 CT6 kept self-breaking because of faulty sensors. At least this one came with a spare. The $75,000 Escalade was in the shop 52 times in 3 years. I finally learned to stay away from junk (expensive junk)!

  • @chronos4573

    I’m trading from a well equipped CTS to a CT5 V. My only hesitation is the CT5 interior in black, which is is so anodyne and unrelieved with no contrast. But most stock on dealer lots have black interior and many also have black raven exterior paint. Why cant they take a chance with some color and materials choices? At least in my CTS i have some metal bright work and the warmth of wood veneer to break up the acres of black plastic. Contrasting colored seat stitching or seat piping would be a welcome relief.

    Great review, I hope that Cadillac continues to build sedans as they have brought out some pretty good stuff in the last few years. There are a few little things about the styling that I am not big on, but maybe seeing it in person my mind might be changed. I am glad that Andrea has become part of your reviews as she adds another perspective on each vehicle and it's fun listening to the interaction that you two have. Review AFTER 2 YEARS OF OWNERSHIP!
    I purchased my 2022 CT5 in August 2022. Saying that my experience owning this vehicle has been a nightmare is an understatement. Here are the list of major repairs/replacements I’ve had within 2 years of owning; Engine Head Gasket, Transmission Transfer Case, entire Transmission assembly, front Seat lumbar units, steering wheel boot, interior door trim panels, O2 Sensors, and so on. All of this has been replaced within less than 2 years of owning this vehicle. I had decided to purchase my first ever car from Cadillac as the brand stood for luxury and reliability. I put my hard earned money, and that too quiet a lot of it, towards this car. If I had known what I was in for, I would’ve went for Cadillac’s competition. It’s a shame because the CT5 is a very good looking vehicle and it drives nice. However the amount of Repairs and unreliability overshadows the whole experience. Looks can be deceiving! If you’re in the market for a new luxury vehicle, I’d take a one good look at this vehicle, admire its good looks, maybe even sit in it or take some photos and then proceed to purchase a German or a Japanese competitor brand!

    Fun review. Looks interesting, thanks. I have been looking at the Genesis G70 3.3T Sport. It looks like a comparable Cadillac is about $10,000CDN more, plus the Genesis has a 5 year warranty and 5 years of included service. Pretty hard to beat, but the Cadillac is definitely worth a closer look. You were right about the packages on the website driving you crazy. :-)

    So Cadillac addressed why the c-pillar looks the way it does....basically they wanted to give the car more of a gran coupe-like appearance...because the rear windows are so large, they actually had to make them 2 separate panes so that it cud retract all the way down (similar to BMW 7 series and other large sedans where the rear passenger windows are larger than the front) and then they didnt want to put another piece of glass on the c pillar because it would be 4 windows on each side of the car, which is excessive...so in order to get the look they wanted, they opted for the black triangle...after hearing why they did what they did, it makes sense and i dont mind it anymore but yes at first glance i was like wtf

    I drove an mk5 Supra and traded it in for a Rubicon. Once I get bored of the Jeep i’m going to move into this car. Too many people sleep on this car. I argue this is better than a blackwing version as for that price i’d rather driver many other cars. For the price looks and performance this is a great car. The only thing i will miss about the supra is the power and gas mileage.

    So now with the 2022 CT5-V offers “Technology Package” which includes the Head Up Display (HUD) and also a reconfigurable 12.3 Driver instrumentation panel. Unfortunately they don’t offer the “maintenance” in United States also for SuperCruise they’ve (Cadillac) momentarily halted this feature for CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing and Escalade. Why? They’re using SuperCruise interchangeably for the GMC Sierra Pickup Truck and also for Cadillac Lyriq EV, so the other vehicle model line up takes the backseat. I’ve been a fan of BMW for so many years and worked for different franchises, however I love what Cadillac has done with this exterior and interior and for the value of a near $60k vehicle you’re getting more performance than a BMW 540i (335HP inline six cylinder).

    Looking at this review because I'm in the market for a sporty sedan. This started at 49k CAD. it is now 62k CAD. Holy inflation.

    15:29, Genesis gives you 5 years of free maintenance and on top of that, concierge services where they come and pick it off and drop you off a loaner in the meantime. That's quite the luxury experience

    As a manufacturer the thing i wonder about GM is, is it Canadian, American or Chinese?

      American based but they have plants all over the world.

    Love the review but I think that with the c-pillar looking the way it does, the car looks like an older Maxima. I also can't imagine why a premium brand like this would not go with a fully digital display as they have done in the Escalade.

    I would really consider one for sure. I am in the market for a mid size sedan as a 3rd vehicle. I have an E90 caged race car and I really enjoy the characteristics of European handling.
    I have a few cars on my radar for when the Canadian market settles down. I am looking at the 2022 M3 competition because AWD and the more driver centric dash layout over the big tablet look of the 2023👎🏼👎🏼🤮 terrible design appearance. Also looking at the CT4V Blacking or the CT5V, the issue is the AWD is only offered on the non Blackwing.
    Great car for sure, and awesome platform. Hopefully they beef up the AWD drivetrain to handle the power in the Blackwing models then it would be a direct competitor to the M3 comp.
    Cheers
    M

    Taller folks shud avoid the sunroof/moonroof option...much more head room that way...also for 2021 they will be bringing a full digital gauge cluster, wireless CarPlay, super cruise semi autonomous driving tech, and more premium leather on the steering wheel

    Zack, I'm confused why 4 years of service is a big deal. Isn't that just a handful of oil changes? I get that it's a benefit but it can't be worth more than $500, yeah?

    • @rohanjassal1707
      @rohanjassal1707 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I drive the CT6 and it goes for service every 4 months. That is 12 services in the 4 year period. Considering each service is $120-140(from the dealer) that is over $1200 in savings. Compared to Audi or Mercedes who charge upwards of $150+ it can be significant savings if you plan on keeping your vehicle for 3-4 years

    • @GoofieNewfie
      @GoofieNewfie 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      you kidding me? Oil change on my Acura, serviced at a Honda to save money because their rate is lower....69.99 every 8000kms or 12 months for a A1 service. Then every other service is a B1 service, so at 16000kms it was 250, then with awd there is rear differential fluid maintenance which can vary from 100 bucks to a grand, it adds up. When dealers are charging 90-150 bucks and hour..it adds up. BMW, Genesis, offer similar plans, but Audi doesn't for free at least and their rates are bad.

      @rohanjassal1707 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GoofieNewfie I guess it depends on the car brand and dealer pricing as well. Either way, having it included for 3 or 4 years gives you peace of mind and saves you out of pocket expenses

    Some of design choices in the interior are so simple but such good ideas. Multiple ways to control volume is nice, but not having the screen out of reach is great too, and it still has a proper shifter still and not one of those stun push button things or dials. Car is well thought out but it's not price competitive for a Cadillac. They don't have reliability or prestige on their side and definitely not resale

    • @IKhanNot
      @IKhanNot 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say Cadillac kind of flies under the radar but I like that as it won't attract too much attention to itself. As for reliability you're still better off with a Caddy versus a BMW and as far as resale value is concerned there is no luxury car (other than Lexus) that will hold their value so resale falls further down the totem pole versus things like driveability or feel.

  • @rudfil
    @rudfil 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Its a great looking car and I hope GM doesn't kill the Cadillac 'car' and go totally SUV and then let the European and Asian brands take over the luxury car market .
