For most of us it’s the acceleration that matters not a top speed of 160 as I’ll never do that. Let me have a smooth ride most of the time and put it into V mode when I want to punch it and get around traffic on the highway
Can I ask why you went with the ct5v over the ct5 premium luxury with a V6? I've planned on the ct5v but I didn't realize you can get just the ct5 with a V6 engine for 10k cheaper until now
@@SamHalesJr I went with the V for the additional HP and Torque and some of the other features like brakes, slip differential and the extra drive modes. Also a big reason was the look of all black grill. I didn’t test drive thr premium luxury model but I know the sound and exhaust is also different. If that stuff doesn’t matter I would say you’ll be very happy with the Premium Luxury or other trim levels as it is a smooth ride and great car.
I'm in the UK and always saw the Cadilac brand as premium. I'd love one of these, all the extras seem baked in and I love the interior. It's seems great value for your money and I think you should just go ahead and buy one, protect America jobs from going to China. Best wishes to all American buyers, do your duty and just get the finance and buy one. Quentin

I just bought a 2024 almost identical to this one for my wife to use as a daily driver. We absolutely love it. Good power and good MPG. Very comfortable and handles very well. Personally I cannot stand FWD based vehicles so I love the rear drive biased longitudinally mounted engine set up. We got the V6 and IMO its a much nicer motor. The 2.0l is actually not bad in daily driving and pretty reasonable power but its a bit rough and noisy especially if you get higher up in the revs. The V6 is much smoother and quieter. Honestly you don't really notice the extra power from the V6 until you get into the revs and then when it comes on you really feel the power difference. In fairness to the 2.0 it does feel like its more than its 237hp rating and the power does come on quite low in the rev range thanks to the twin scroll turbo. The V6 is a sweet motor but it does have twin parallel more traditional single scroll turbos (ie one for each cylinder bank) so the power isn't quite instantaneous but still very good. It's a beautiful looking car that's gets compliments all the time and IMO you'd have to spend substantially more $ to get something as nice. We cross shopped a Volvo S60 and Audi A5 sportback when we were looking. Both really nice cars. The CT5 handled much better than the S60 due to its FWD platform. The V6 CT5 was noticeably more powerful than either. I definitely love the Quattro AWD system in the Audi and perhaps some of the interior materials were a bit nicer in the imports but they are also significantly more money and I actually enjoyed driving the CT5 more than the others.
Today i test drove a CT4 2.0 and then a CT5 3.0 back to back. I definitely noticed the extra power in the Twing Turbo CT5! Both are really nice cars im currently trying to decide if i can live with the CT4 size.

This 2025 CT5 is absolutely gorgeous. The front end truly has that Cadillac presence now for sure and love the sleek and sophisticated, side profile, and its stance. The rear end is sexy/clean. The V is the better buy IMO as it gives you MRC 4.0 and the handling/ride are tremendously improved. I have a RWD V with platinum trim and it's an amazing driver. The Premium Luxury is no slouch but it's not as sporty a driver as the V. It's amazing how different the two trims are.
That’s the difference between something getting an engine upgrade and something getting the _V-series_ treatment which is much more than just the engine upgrade.
At this MSRP, Super Cruise comes standard and it performs amazingly from the videos I’ve seen. What would be the MSRP for a BMW or Audi or Mercedes with similar self driving technology? Can the European self driving technology even compete with this or that from Tesla?
Exactly, I’ve been trying to figure out why anyone would say this wasn’t worth it’s increase over the base Luxury with the 2.0t (which I really like). Supercruise continues to work and will receive OTA updates throughout the life of the vehicle regardless of if the owner wants to subscribe to use it, it’s there forever. So as standard equipment it will add lots of resale value, even with higher mileage. Great move!

I am so sorry to say that Cadillac is truly dead. Once my most cherished brand, having owned six, REAL Cadillacs. These current compact abominations to the marque are absolutely hideous to lay eyes upon. Really, could they have made this thing any uglier??? The Cadillac brand died a very long time ago with the 1980 models.

Needs run flat tires. Tired of these ridiculous high prices for cookie cutter machines as well. Try more like under $10,000 US Dollars for this right now granted still better but *BARELY* compared to imported junk.
If Lexus BMW Mercedes Audi all can do it So can Cadillac 🙄 I will point out though. Cadillac does have a great naming scheme for their electric vehicle lineup
That coupe look is ugly. Bring back real sedans with trunk lids. Coupe’s are terrible for rear headroom. And 38” rear legroom is criminal. 40” is minimal for a Cadillac. Hard pass.
No. The CT4 and the CT5 are on the superb RWD-biased Alpha 2 chassis - a chassis that isn't shared with any other vehicle. The CT5 has a longitudinally mounted engine and transmissions whereas the Malibu has a FWD, transversely mounted engine and transaxle. Entirely different cars. Other than overall length and having four doors, the CT5 and the Malibu have little in common.
Another knock off Lexus. Cadillac needs to return to the elegance, style, and body structure that made it stand out among other sedans. I'd rather continue purchasing Mercedes.
@@t.7527 Agreed. Lexus doesn't make a four door sedan that competes with the CT5. The IS500 comes closest to making me want a Lexus but I still can't find it myself to love it. The ES is a nicer Camry. The CT5 is a beautiful car but there are things about it that I don't love - and I own one.
Not even close. The CT5-V looks better, drives better, is faster, offers way more space, has better technology, better luxury/convenience, and better build materials are in the Cadillac. Where is the TLX better?
@@G-Rated Compared with this tested car, the Acura TLX Type S comes close to the CT5 PL with 3.0TT. I'd say that adding SuperCruise to the Caddy puts it ahead. I certainly wouldn't pay a premium for the Acura. So while the Premium Luxury CT5 3.0TT and the TLX-S might be in the running with one another, a few dollars more puts you in a far-better CT5-V (non-Blackwing) that is superb and miles better than the Acura. MotorTrend did a comparo between the TLX Type S, the CT5-V and the Genesis G70. The Cadillac finished first and the Acura third. That isn't surprising given that the Acura was the only one of the three with a FWD-biased (and front heavy) platform. While the Acura is good, it just isn't anywhere near as good as the Caddy.

It's a handsome car but I wish it had some more American styleing cues if it's built to look like a BMW/Mercedes. Why don't I just buy a European car in that case.
I just seen this car at the dealership it’s too small and tight for me I need something bigger like a CT6 I’m 6’3 265ilb 😂
Boo. No Apple CarPlay. This means wired only for iPhones?
It has Apple car play I just got a 2025
I think Cadillac missed an opportunity to make this car different. It should have been hatchback.
Nice ride. You can just about get a very well developed Infiniti Q50 Red Sport for the price of the Caddy. The Red Sport is def bullet proof at this point.
Seriously?! Infiniti should not be mentioned unless you're talking about a QX80.
They need to drag a bit LED front headlight more down in order to have fully CTS design , Please cadillac Do it ..... I just dont like it
I wish this guy would stop saying “for just just 50 or 60 thousand dollars “… car are way to expensive we are getting smaller engines and a tablet for RPM and Speedometer and infotainment system which have come down in price….so why are we paying so much for cars nowadays.
Forget the Catera. Bring back the DeVille
No Cadillac should have a 4 or 6 cylinder engine, luxury cars should be V-8
❤

WEC and IMSA
Not le mans and IMSA
Sorry the ct5 2022
I am so sorry to say that Cadillac is truly dead. Once my most cherished brand, having owned six, REAL Cadillacs. These current compact abominations to the marque are absolutely hideous to lay eyes upon. Really, could they have made this thing any uglier??? The Cadillac brand died a very long time ago with the 1980 models.
Ct6 was last nice caddy,,,,still have in china why not here.?
Seriously... for 55 grand you'd expect 4-zone climate control as standard! This is just cheap and lame GM!
No wonder you'll never reach to Audi, MB, BMW level!
BTW, really nice review! You got yourself a sub and a like!
Needs run flat tires. Tired of these ridiculous high prices for cookie cutter machines as well. Try more like under $10,000 US Dollars for this right now granted still better but *BARELY* compared to imported junk.
All of the ct5s come with run flat tires 😉
Doesn’t take much…
The got to much tech
Damn....y'all could have at least shine the wheels 🛞 🙄
Designed by people who hate Cadillacs.
CT5,CTS,ATS, CT4 Most horrible names EVER!! Very lazy of Cadillac. The resale for this vehicle is trash. CADILLAC MUST DO BETTER!!
If Lexus BMW Mercedes Audi all can do it So can Cadillac 🙄 I will point out though. Cadillac does have a great naming scheme for their electric vehicle lineup
I simply dislike Cadillac´s slit eye face...
That coupe look is ugly. Bring back real sedans with trunk lids. Coupe’s are terrible for rear headroom. And 38” rear legroom is criminal. 40” is minimal for a Cadillac. Hard pass.
Isn’t this just a Chevy Malibu with a Cadillac badge?
No
No
Not even close
Nope 👎
Another knock off Lexus. Cadillac needs to return to the elegance, style, and body structure that made it stand out among other sedans. I'd rather continue purchasing Mercedes.
This isnt a knock off Lexus. Some of yall dont lnow cars
Looks nothing like a Lexus 😂😂😂 I swear people just say anything
Boring design bordering on ugly. What's happening with Cadillac's design team, the car looks 10 years old already🤔🫢😳
Who in the luxury segment has exciting designs to you?
I think the Acura TLX Type-S would be a better option in this class.
Not even close. The CT5-V looks better, drives better, is faster, offers way more space, has better technology, better luxury/convenience, and better build materials are in the Cadillac. Where is the TLX better?
A Honda? Please…
Nope, but stick to your Asian cars.
