I am so glad that i stumbled upon you guys. John's child-like pure joy at these bears makes me so happy! I love seeing otber adults get so happy over toys and bears! ❤🐻
John, I have had a Wendy Boston bear since my first birthday (1957 😜), and he has been my stalwart companion ever since. I caught COVID in January of this year, and on a whim, I picked him up off the chair in our bedroom and took him out to the sofa to watch TV with me. Then I started to worry in case he was lonely. He now has seven companions, and I have decided to turn my showcase at the local group antiques shop into a teddy adoption agency (fees apply - because they must 😕). I am actually writing to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your videos. They are so helpful. In practical terms, the first one I watched, which showed about cleaning and repair, was invaluable, and every time you mention a book, I pause the video, order it and then return to the video. I am British born, and even 50+ years in the US, where teddies aren’t quite as mainstream as they are in the UK, hasn’t dulled my belief that people may make them, but God (or whatever one likes to call that divine force of love) puts in their hearts and souls.
Just came across this video! I am such a fan of John! I so badly wanted the Dutch boy and girl teddy bears he did for the cover of a teddy bear magazine in the 1990's. It was hard to get a bear by John but I managed by getting one at the Pharmacy his father owned. I also managed to get some beautiful pieces made by his mother.🧸🧸❤❤🧸🧸
I could not go to a place with a big collection like that. I would not be able to fight the urge to touch all the lovely bears. Some of them look like they want a hug so baddly.
It was so good of Hilary to allow us to share a wonderful tour of her museum of teddies, through John. Loved his enthusiasm. It was a real delight. Thank you all.
Glad you enjoyed it

What can you tell me about this? Teddy bear. I found him when I was a little girl at a garage sale/ antique store lol. And I understand he was 100 years old. Then he's in a glass globe now and he sits by my bed. Yes, he survived my childhood
I have a Triang Bear here in UK
I collect small bears for the most part. I bought one at a garage sale about which I know little other than it says W Germany.
