I absolutely loved the sound of the bass when you was playing the chords...theres something about doing chords on fretlesses that are absolutely magical and it sounds very well mixed.
You've must a spent quite a while with that bass since you did your other Obscura cover because now your intonation is right where it needed to be and now you sound flawless.

You get a completely different, warmer, smoother sound, and a very slight buzz (like fret buzz, but on wood so it can sound very pleasing)... and the ability to do much more gradual and expressive slides up and the fingerboard. it's definitely something worth trying out at least once!

@Guyverhoeven The 3 finger gallop is a variation of 3 fingers, but he is switching between 2 fingers, and 3 for the triplets and 3 for the gallops :)

@leifericson923 What you do is get the fretboard of your fretless bass epoxied and it protects the fretboard and is safe for any kind of string
@Deathmetalfan69 im not sure, they are the flatwounds that i got with it, i have not changed them except for the B string is a 130 gauge Daddario.

@aceenigmax It's the classical pose, not only is finger plucking somewhat more accurate for some people BUT it also helps play more technical stuff, I do not play bass though but this was the case for me with both acoustic and electric guitars. Again, for me playing like this works well for technique so it's purely personal, and yes it gets bothersome to play like this sometimes.

@JAJGJW yes Cynic does have some awesome bass lines. i have considered it, just never sat down to learn any of them yet.
@timotio444 im going to make an instructional video soon on the way that i do my 3 and 4 finger technique so be on the look out for that. hopefully that should be up soon.

There are so many reasons this is amazing. It's technical death metal on bass, it's a fretless bass, you learned by ear, which learning anything by ear in metal seems impossible to me, but you do it on bass so it seems even harder, so it's much harder to hear, not to mention it's a FRETLESS BASS... Idk if I'm making sense, but it's amazing; just know that.
It looks so easy compared to your cover of Cancrum Ortis... but it's very, VERY difficult D: and you play that so well, like always
@leifericson923 A little bit, if you play with roundwounds and dig into the neck a lot with bending, but it's nothing a little sanding won't take out. Rosewood scars up more than Ebony or maybe even Ebonol will. Ebony will barely scar due to srtings

completely sure. I believe it's because of tone.

@satyrludi It's a Brice HXB-406 fretless, I had the fretted model and for the money you can't find better. Rondo music usually has them
