I think this version has better vocals. I also initially thought the bass line was worse, but I've actually warmed up to it quite nicely. Even though I find the final version more interesting instrumentally, I think the music fits better with the lyrics in this version. More emotional.
There are so many subtle differences that make me love this! I honestly can't even pick between the two versions! Thanks for posting these. I'm glad I ordered this!
When the moist and balmy gale Round the verdant meadow sights Odours sweet in misty veil At the twilight-hour arise Murmurings soft of calm repose Rock the heart to child-like rest And the day’s bright portals close On the eyes with toil oppressed Night already reigns over all Strangely star linked to star Planets, mighty sparkling small Glitter near and gleam afar Gleam above in clearer night Glitter in the glassy sea Pledging pure and calm delight Rules the moon in majesty Now each well known hour is over Trust the newborn eye of day Vales grow verdant, hillocks teem Shady nooks the bushes yield and with waving silvery gleam Wouldst thou wish for wish obtain Cast the shell of sleep away Tarry not, but be thou bold When the many loiter still All with ease may be controlled

@imbaguitar sorry im wrong. but i was wondering, so this was recorded in 2006, but you are putting together some kind of compilation cd with songs from 2003-2011?
@RealmOfObscura isn't only the chorus faster? the rest sounds a fair bit slower. also, i like this bass line in the chorus but it might only be because ive herad the other version so many times
i'll have to disagree. this bassline is equally mysterious as the cosmogenesis. both are equally good versions. just a matter of taste which one you'll prefer!
@XyzalJunkie agreed, the bass is much more powerfull and leading in Cosmogenesis. Then the solo on this one simply sucks IMO, whereas in the most recent, it is so great.
out of all of obscura's songs i love this is one (both versions) and celestial spheres...dont get me wrong i love every song by obscura :) i'm a huge fan of them

I actually love the vocals on this version,
the bassline that was changed was changed so much to the better in Cosmogenis.

sound like death
schuldiner would be so proud!!
You can hear more Death influence in this version
Love this version
la mejor!!!
que temazo!!!!
guys of obscura i think i prefer this version thanks for releasing it(:
My favorite!
I personally love the vocals on the demo
holy shit AWESOME
This are his Kids for sure!!!!
Love the raw vocals on this version. Sounds black metal-ish🤘🤘🤘
Epic!!!!
When the moist and balmy gale
Round the verdant meadow sights
Odours sweet in misty veil
At the twilight-hour arise
Murmurings soft of calm repose
Rock the heart to child-like rest
And the day’s bright portals close
On the eyes with toil oppressed
Night already reigns over all
Strangely star linked to star
Planets, mighty sparkling small
Glitter near and gleam afar
Gleam above in clearer night
Glitter in the glassy sea
Pledging pure and calm delight
Rules the moon in majesty
Now each well known hour is over
Trust the newborn eye of day
Vales grow verdant, hillocks teem
Shady nooks the bushes yield and with waving silvery gleam
Wouldst thou wish for wish obtain
Cast the shell of sleep away
Tarry not, but be thou bold
When the many loiter still
All with ease may be controlled
When the moist and balmy gale
Round the verdant meadow sights,
Odours sweet in misty veil
At the twilight-hour arise
Murmurings soft of calm repose
Rock the heart to child-like rest
And the day's bright portals close
On the eyes with toil oppressed
Night already reigns over all
Strangely star linked to star
Planets, mighty sparkling small
Glitter near and gleam afar
Gleam above in clearer night
Glitter in the glassy sea
Pledging pure and calm delight
Rules the moon in majesty
Now each well known hour is over
Trust the newborn eye of day
Vales…

" How Could I "
PLEASE!!!
I prefer this version because of that 3:09 bridge riff. That and the actual tone beat the official one for me.
@RealmOfObscura isn't only the chorus faster? the rest sounds a fair bit slower. also, i like this bass line in the chorus but it might only be because ive herad the other version so many times
This is very good, but i like the Cosmogenesis version better! The sound of the fretless bass is priceless...
Holy shit, it's really before remake?
This song sounds great, but I like the textures and bass details of the album version.
@HerveGamerDude I mean the DEATH line-up from HUMAN which obviously influenced Obscura in this song more than anything else
Chuck,Steve,Paul and Sean would be proud
i prefer. the original version
i prefer this one more. but theyre both great song ;D
Upload Cynic's How Could I Cover, PLEASE!
Better than Cosmogenesis version! More dynamic!
Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck!
That sounds exactly like Gory Blister
The lol worthy moment when some one says Obscura have no dynamics in their music.
overall, sounds almost completely redone. but this band is talented, i like both versions.
I like the growls better on this version.
i'll have to disagree. this bassline is equally mysterious as the cosmogenesis. both are equally good versions. just a matter of taste which one you'll prefer!
.
prefiero la version del cosmogenesis por mucho! el bajo es muy superior qe en esta pero la voz esta muy chida!! :)
Personally I like this version better. The solo sounds much better to me, especially the bass, and it just feels less 'refined'.
@XyzalJunkie agreed, the bass is much more powerfull and leading in Cosmogenesis. Then the solo on this one simply sucks IMO, whereas in the most recent, it is so great.
The Cosmogenesis version is much better IMO. This one sounds clearer, but also simpler, especially on the bass...
Who gives a fuck. It's still epic.
This version is actually better.
Old one is better
